CORTISOL AND AXIETY
TRANSCRIPT
Hi, I'm Dr. Martin at the Martin Clinic. Are you stressed?
Do you suffer from anxiety? You're not alone.
One of the major things that we see in our office today is diet of anxiety. Do you have trouble sleeping?
You're not alone either. 70% of the population have trouble getting a real good sleep. That is a symptom of anxiety.
And where that comes from is hormonal. You have adrenal glands. Ad-renal, on top of the kidneys that secrete a hormone called cortisol.
Now cortisol is meant to have a part-time job. In our society today, we've given it a full time job. Family, finances, stresses from relationships and all sorts of things, and then of course if you don't sleep, and you don't get a good rest, you elevate that anxiety hormone called cortisol, and that's a big problem because cortisol will elevate your blood sugar.
Cortisol will affect your digestive tract. It's not meant to be secreted for a long period of time. Think of what it does in your body. It literally gives you that tense, tense feeling.
No wonder you can't get a good sleep. And no wonder you can't lose weight.
Cortisol, as a matter of fact, in women will give them belly fat, and they wonder why, like I haven't changed my diet.
Nothing has changed there, and yet I'm gaining weight around the middle. My brain, you know, it doesn't operate like it used to, and sometimes they get nausea and they don't feel so good. Cravings, all of that's a big issue. Cravings for sugar and salt, and things that weren't there before. That's all part of that anxiety, that tension that's inside the body due to cortisol.
Now, we at the Martin Clinic have developed a product that gets wonderful results in the area of anxiety. It's called Cortisol Control. It is a tremendous product hand-picked supplements put together to help alleviate stress, help you to sleep better, get rid of that belly fat.
