Brown University is saying in a recent study that fish is what’s causing melanoma. Dr. Martin says the study sounds fishy and explains why he doesn’t agree with their deduction.
There are 3 basic types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Melanoma is the most deadly form of skin cancer, and Dr. Martin agrees that melanoma rates have really skyrocketed. But, not because of mercury in fish. It’s because of high fructose corn syrup!
Join Dr. Martin in today’s episode as he teaches on the real cause of melanoma and explains why cases are now so prevalent!

Announcer: You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good morning, everyone. Welcome to another live this morning and start of a another day and hope you had your vitamin C your coffee. Okay. Brown university fish causing melanoma. Okay. So I just wanna pontificate a little bit this morning on a couple of studies. Brown university says fish is causing melanoma and their deduction is, uh, I think false. Now I've gotta tell you why. Okay. Because melanoma rates are really skyrocketed that I agree with now, there's really three basic types of skin cancer. You have basal cell carcinoma. Uh, these are generally non, you know, they're not lethal. You've got squamous cell carcinoma, and then you have melanoma, melanoma being the most deadly form of skin cancer. Okay. And the rates of melanoma are going through the roof. Now you've heard me talk about other studies that tell you that it's the sun. Okay. So these are sun cancers.
Uh, not true. People who get melanoma are people that don't get in the sun. And melanoma is usually found in places where the sun don't shine on your body. Okay. That's just a fact, I'm just bringing you facts. So melanoma can't be from the sun. So you have folks at brown university saying that melanoma could come from fish. And obviously they're talking about the mercury in fish. Right. But you know what guys, I, I I'll tell you why. I don't agree with it. Okay. I'm gonna tell you why. I don't agree with this study. You know, they're not double blind studies or whatever. They're more observation, right? People talk about, well, how much fish do you eat? And you know, that kind of thing. And then they figure out, oh, well you got skin cancer must be the fish. Like I said, I don't agree with that for a couple of one mercury.
I agree. Very toxic. I used to test for it in my office. Uh, but I don't see it so much. I'll tell you why. I don't think it's coming from fish. Even though they found mercury in fish, there's no doubt about it. There's mercury and fish. But when you eat fish, one of the components in there is selenium and selenium is ACHI. What's that mean? Well, it gets rid of the mercury. So I never, never, never discourage people from eating fish. I don't, because fish has a protective mechanism, by the way. So to steak, okay. Selenium. It has key leaders in it to take the mercury out. So my biggest thing, okay. As far as, you know, Browns university didn't call me because I would've given them my opinion on where that mercury is coming from there. No doubt there's mercury, but it's not from the fish.
Mercury comes from high fructose corn syrup. You know, the antichrist of sugars. That's added to almost everything today. Okay? So that's one thing. Fish comes with its own K called selenium. Now people in Japan who eat a lot more fish than we do in north America, because this is one of the things that this study didn't talk about is why is it that in Japan, melanoma rates are a lot lower than they are in north America. Okay? The Japanese eat a lot more fish than we do by the way. I have fish every day in the capsule. Okay? No, but seriously, the Japanese don't get high rates of melanoma. The Japanese are not getting high rates of mercury. The Japanese don't eat near as much high fructose corn syrup as we do, unless they come over to north America and start eating like we do, to me, it doesn't make sense.
It doesn't make sense. So I agree. One thing mercury is very toxic and a lot of people have mercury. Cuz when I tested for mercury in my office, I saw it a lot. But I always used to tell 'em a couple of things. One you're eating way too much sugar and especially the high fructose corn syrup, for sure remember heavy metals in the body when they travel, they need a carrier. And that carrier is candida. It's yeast. It's a fungus. So when you have leaky gut, you can have leaky brain with heavy metals coming in. Now where they found the most amount of mercury is in people like with Parkinson's, for example, are lead neurological disorders. One of the reasons we see so much more ALS for example, than we used to Lou Garrick's disease, heavy metals are there, but they don't get there on their own in order to travel, they need a carrier and it's yeast.
It's a fungus it's candida. And that's why I'm so big on getting rid of candida. That's why I am so big on probiotics. Okay. That's why I'm so big on probiotics because probiotics are key. Your body has friendly bacteria. And as long as you don't have an invasive third army of yeast, your friendly bacteria know exactly what to do with heavy metal. They ate them. They keep them outta your body. It's when your microbiome gets compromised. And I like to explain that to those researchers at Brown's university, don't blame fish for what sugar is doing. And one thing I do agree with them, melanoma is going through the roof, a deadly skin cancer and it ain't the sun and it ain't fish guys. It's not, it's not the sun well established. If people would be willing to read the study sun melanoma, it's not the sun. The sun does not cause melanoma. As a matter of fact, the higher your vitamin D rates are in your bloodstream. The less risk you have of almost every cancer in the world. And especially melanoma people made the sun, the boogeyman along with cholesterol and it was never true and it never will be true, but it's hard to change the narratives. Isn't it. Today there is uh, concerted effort to get people to not eat meat, donate fish. And you know, don't eat eggs and don't consume any dairy and guys that's an agenda. It's not right.
And you know, they're going after farmers today. They're gonna go after fishermen. They're gonna go after farmers and they're going after them. They wanna reduce the amount of fertilizer they use. Are you trying to kill us? I can't get over it. They don't want us eating meat. They wanna get rid of the camp. Ooh. They want us eating the meatless craze. They want us eating grasshoppers. Well, I'm sorry. I'm sore. I'm not going along with it. Okay. I was reading my Bible this morning about John the Baptist and he was eating locus. Okay. <laugh> and honey, you know, I was chuckling in my mind. I said, well, they wanna get the whole population now eating grass hoppers. Ooh, John, the Baptist, you can have your locus and to the world out there, you can have your grasshoppers. I'm not in, I'm not in on.
Okay. So what gets rid? What gets rid of heavy metals? What gets rid of it? Selenium, finding fish, tea, liters, probiotics, broad spectrum probiotic. The better your microbiome is the more friendly bacteria you have, the better they ate heavy metals under your body. Now let me tell you about one that is built in. What is your built in heavy metal. Reducer comes outta your liver. Okay. This is a little test. Okay. This is a little test. What is a key leader? Okay. This is a difficult question. Okay. Close your books. I'm testing you. Oh, why you stay? Hate that in school? Close your books. All in all who just wrote it. Wendy glutathione, glutathione, your body's Velcro. It's made in your liver mostly. And what does it do? It kelates, it's Velcro. It sticks to heavy metals. It sticks to garbage in your body.
And one of the ways to elevate glut is to empty your liver. Empty it. Why do you think the reset is so good? Yeah. It reduces insulin resistance. That was the primary goal, but it emptied your liver. It takes that fat outta your liver. If you take the fat outta your liver, your gluon levels are going to go up and gluon is your body's Velcro. It'll stick to garbage. It'll stick to heavy metals and it will Keely get rid of heavy metals. Your body has a built in system. Isn't that wonderful, but you need your liver to be empty. You don't want your liver full of fat. You don't want the Costco parking lot full. You don't want your minivan with too much luggage. That's what happens. When again comes back to eating sugar and crappy carbohydrates, empty your liver. You produce more glutathione the more glutathione you produce.
The more you Keate got the memo. People ask me all the time, by the way, give me a liver cleanse. Give me a liver cleanse, give me a liver cleanse. How do I cleanse my liver? Well empty. Your liver is the organ that can regenerate itself like nobody's business. It's incredible. And what happens in the liver? Unfortunately it's not Las Vegas. What happens in the liver spreads from heart disease to brain. You name it because the liver is the Rodney danger feel of organs, cuz it doesn't get enough credit for how important it is for your body. And the biggest thing, one of the biggest things is detoxification. My friend. And as we were mentioning, I think it was yesterday. We live in a toxic soup. Good luck with that. Trying to get rid of toxins at a hundred percent. You just not gonna do it.
You can't do it on this plan. It's the way it is. Any who? So that was the study on Brown's university. I have three or four of them I wanted to talk about, okay, let me do this one. Here's the headline. Let me read the headline from the university of Washington's school medicine. Okay. Let me read the headline to you. Smoking, drinking alcohol and being overweight are responsible for 50% of all cancer deaths worldwide. So the survey says, remember that show, what does the survey say? Well, this is a survey study done by the university of Washington. And they say that 50% of all cancers come from smoking alcohol and being overweight. Well, one thing for sure. And I've said this, what you can control. Can't control everything in life. You're not gonna control all the toxins, you know, from plastics to microplastics, to all the stuff that you can't even see that is in our water.
And it's in our soil. It's in our atmosphere. It's everywhere. Okay. And so you can't see it all. Don't drive yourself crazy. Take care of your immune system and your body will take care of itself in spite of living within a toxic suit. But one of the things I do talk about all the time is you can't control everything, but you can control what goes in your mouth and what they're saying this study, okay. This study and looking at all the cancer deaths around the world, they said that three things represent 50% of all cancers, not the toxins, not that three things smoking. I thought people got the memo on smoking. Everybody in their dog knows that smoking is no good for you. Okay? Everybody in their dog knows that smoking isn't good. But obviously some people are still not getting the memo on that. And they small, very addictive to alcohol.
And so be careful, be careful. And one of the things that alcohol does, it travels like from toes to your liver. And remember I'm an old goat. Okay. In the 1970s, there was no such thing in the 1980s, there was no such thing is non-alcoholic fatty liver today. It's an epidemic. Alcohol doesn't even touch what high fructose corn syrup does to the liver. Non-alcoholic fatty liver, crappy carbs, crappy sugar. Okay. That's how you get non-alcoholic fatty liver. But that term wasn't even invented in the 1970s because nobody ever saw it. Remember, I always talk about this when I was a boy. Okay. Born in 1952 when I was a boy, did we have cookies? Yep. Did we have ice cream? Yep. But we ate 25 pounds of sugar. Now it's near 200.
Plus the biggest thing that happened besides the fact that we eat so much is they changed the sugar to act like alcohol. You might as well be giving your kids a drink of alcohol because when they consume high fructose corn syrup, it is destructive to the liver and every doctor and even most lay people know that cirrhosis of the liver remember that? Well what does it come from? Alcohol and high fructose corn syrup too. Okay. So this is the survey of all cancer guests. 50% of them, of what you put in your mouth. One smoking, you smoke, you shouldn't alcohol. Be careful three it's when, what does it say here? Let me read it to you. Being overweight. My friend, watch a movie in the 1950s. Watch the old classics. Everybody is skinny as rinks. If you had left the planet in the 1960s and let's pretend Elon Musk was around at that time and we all left.
Okay, well not all of us, but a lot of us, we left. We went to Mars. We come back to the planet and it's 20, 22. Especially if we land in North America, go to a mall, my friend and watch how big people are. The world's changed. Guys. I always make my point on Dr. Martin. You know, there was somebody on our site the other day, you know, Dr. Martin's wrong. It's moderation. It's moderation. Oh, it gives me a migraine. When I hear moderation, my friend it's elimination, not moderation. And people who study cancer will tell you when you're overweight, your body mass index is gone up that fat that you see behind me for those who are listening on the podcast, I'm pointing with my thumb behind me and showing five pounds of fat. Fat is a cancer conductor. It is an organ on its own.
That creates an enormous amount of inflammation that starts to destroy blood vessels and destroy cells and accelerates cancer. My friend, okay? Because we were never meant to consume the amount of carbohydrates that we do. And sugar, as you guys know well know is an accelerator of cancer. Cancer needs fuel and sugar is its primary source. It loves sugar and steak. Just the opposite of what you're being taught. Just the opposite of what you're being taught. All this processed foods, crappy foods, fat, free foods, sugar Laden foods are killing people. According to the university of Washington, 50% of all cancers. I'm gonna tell you something, my friend, it's higher than that. And they're not getting into metabolic syndrome and the case for the recent, they're not getting into that, but I AM's higher than them. You can't control everything. Don't smoke. Everybody knows that alcohol be very careful. That's what I tell people. Be very careful.
And three, eh, you in carbs, don't get along. I often write memos to people. You know, when I check their insulin resistance and I check their A1C and I go, yeah, you in carbs, don't get along. You got a bad relationship. And times just split up. You're in an abusive relationship. Okay? A lot of people are in an abusive relationship and you know, they're hooked on cars. It's not easy. I didn't say it was easy, but it's an interesting study. Isn't it? They're saying half of all cancers, Hey, I didn't say it. I think it's higher than that. And you know me, I, I don't talk about smoking too much. I don't have to because there, the new smoking is eating carbs. The new smoking is eating carbohydrates. Especially those crappy carbohydrates made with seed oils made with vegetable oils. They produce aldehyde and that's why you have so much lung cancer today.
Even though people are not smoking as much as they did, you would think smoking would be down to zero, but it's not. People make choices in their life. Interesting studies, huh? Okay. Friday is question and answer Friday. You got any questions for me? I hope you do. We always had that great Friday program. Okay. We enjoy it. I know you guys enjoy it. I enjoy it.
