Transcript Of Today's Episode
Announcer: You're listening to the Doctor is In podcast brought to you by martinclinic.com. During the episode, the doctor share a lot of information. As awesome as the info, maybe it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good morning everyone. Welcome to another podcast. This is going to blow you away. This is going to blow you away [00:00:30] once I break this down. What I want to tell you this morning is that one of the biggest breakthroughs in medicine. Yeah, I mean that.
Dr. Martin: I'm going to break this down for you, but I do not want to ... you know me I get pretty excited about a lot of things with your health and I pontificate a lot. But guys, let me tell you this, this is important.
Dr. Martin: There is a development [00:01:00] on Omega-3 that made the headlines. It's going to get probably glossed over pretty quick and we're going to forget about it, but I'll never forget about it because this is incredible. Now, let me read you the headline, and then I'm going to break this down for you.
Dr. Martin: The FDA approves first fish oil drug for cutting [00:01:30] cardiac risk. In patient testing, this drug reduced risks of potentially deadly complications including heart attacks and strokes by 25%. There has been in heart history, in heart history, in heart medication history, nothing that ever [00:02:00] reduced the risk of a heart attack or stroke by 25% nothing.
Dr. Martin: Aspirin said it would help, as a matter of fact, they came out against that. If you want to watch a video that I've done, go back on my old videos about aspirin and people taking aspirin every day, and as a matter of fact, the FDA came out last spring and said, "You know what? We're not allowing aspirin to make the claim that it actually helps reduce heart attack and stroke." [00:02:30] That's a fact. They just came out and said it. They said, "Don't say it anymore. It's not true."
Dr. Martin: As a matter of fact, here's what the FDA concluded about aspirin. They said that aspirin, taking aspirin every day, the risks of bleeding, the risk of internal damage to your organs out weighs the benefits associated with aspirin. So [00:03:00] if you want to get the full details of that, just go on our website and look up aspirin because I did a video on that.
Dr. Martin: I did a teaching. I think it's, I think if I'm not mistaken, there's over 800,000 people that have watched that video now that I did on Aspirin. But guys I can't contain my excitement that the FDA ... And here's what I mean by this, because you're thinking FDA approves a drug. [00:03:30] Well, what's new? That's what they do, but they approved a medication, they call it a medication. It really isn't by the way, it really isn't. But let me just tell you a little bit more. It's called, V-A-S-C-E-P-A. Vascepa comes out of Ireland.
Dr. Martin: It's a medication out of Ireland. It's Omega-3. They have a patent on the process of it. Vascepa [00:04:00] patented the process of filtering, filtering, filtering, filtering, Omega-3 till they got a high potency Omega-3. This is incredible, this is incredible. And what they're saying is, and the FDA looked at their studies, so they're going to allow Vascepa to make a claim that this what they call drug, it isn't a [00:04:30] drug, it's vitamin O.
Dr. Martin: You know me I sort of like what is vitamin C to Dr. Martin coffee? What's vitamin W? Water, what's vitamin O? I mentioned that in a video last week. What's vitamin O? Omega-3. Omega-3, Omega-3, and Omega-3 very specific. It's the fish oil. Look, you can find Omega-3 in [00:05:00] a plant kingdom and the animal kingdom, and I just want to remind you of this, but in the animal kingdom you get EPA and DHA. That is, it's not found in the plants. The plants are wonderful.
Dr. Martin: So if you take hemp seeds, good for you, nuts and seeds, they're good for you. But they don't have EPA and they don't have DHA and DHA, especially DHA, [00:05:30] which is the long chain fatty acid. The longer the chain, the more bioavailable it is. So Vascepa figured this out years ago. They did studies, they have a patent on the filtration and how they do it and the FDA looked at their studies of over 8,000 patients, and the FDA gave [00:06:00] them approval for sales in North America in the United States to reduce your risk of heart disease, heart attacks, more specifically heart attacks and strokes.
Dr. Martin: Guys. It's Omega-3 that's what it is. It's fish oil. But the process, the very high DHA in it, is what makes it [00:06:30] effective. This by the way, to do their treatment. So the recommended dosage of this, of getting a couple of grams every day of this medication, the average cost they're saying is going to be around 300 and I think it's $380 America for us Canadian folks, that's closer to $500, isn't it? A Month.
Dr. Martin: But the FDA gave them approval and the [00:07:00] FDA looked at their research and the FDA is allowing Vascepa to make claims. There's no drug on the planet, there's not a Statin drug on the planet, Zocor, Lipitor, Crestor. Any Statin drug that can make that claim they can. Now a lot of... Billions of people take Statin drugs around the world, but they can't make the claim that it reduces your risk of heart attacks [00:07:30] and stroke by 25% but Omega-3 can.
Dr. Martin: Now listen, it's very important to understand this, very important. You can't go to the store and get a high D ... Well I didn't say you couldn't. I'm just saying that most, if you go to look at your label, because I'm not ... all Omega-3 is good. All Omega-3 is good. I am big on that. Vitamin [00:08:00] O it's good if you eat fish.
Dr. Martin: If you eat steak, grass fed beef has more Omega-3 than fish. That's why Dr. Martin, I love steak. I take fish every day. I took my fish capsules this morning, high DHA. We got almost three grams of it in a capsule, [00:08:30] high DHA oil. That's what Vascepa is, that's what it is. They have a filtration that takes the Omega-3, the long chain DHA and their process is what does it.
Dr. Martin: So all I'm saying is this is incredible, incredible, but let me read you another study that came out this week. Let me just get it here. I want to read this study that [00:09:00] came out this week. So 25% decrease of your risk of a heart attack and stroke with Vascepa which is a high DHA Omega-3. That's what it is, not a drug. They're going to treat it as a drug because they have a patent on it.
Dr. Martin: And so that's why [inaudible 00:09:23], said this is a new, it's not really a new drug, but it's in United Kingdom. [00:09:30] This drug has been around for several years. They knew it was good for you, but they didn't realize until they did this other study of 8,000 people that had heart disease, that it reduced the risk by 25%.
Dr. Martin: It's absolutely astounding, it's incredible. Like I said, no other drug known to man has ever done this before and it's not even a drug guys. It's not even a drug. It's just very [00:10:00] high DHA, very ... It's a called the Pharmaceutical Grade DHA. That's what it is. Omega-3 on steroids guys. That's what it is.
Dr. Martin: So let me read you another study that came out this week that's associated with this because it says here, let me just get it for you. High DHA oil reduces your risk of Alzheimer's. [00:10:30] Now let me just tell you by the way, I didn't tell you this and I want to tell you this.
Dr. Martin: I want to tell you this. I'm too excited, I forgot. I'm so excited by this. I couldn't wait to come and tell you about this. It happened on Friday and usually I don't do any. You know what, I just started doing videos on Saturday and Sunday. This news is too exciting. Let me tell you how this, [00:11:00] they showed how this new supplement, they want to call it a drug, but it's a supplement. It's a very specific high DHA. I take that every day by the way.
Dr. Martin: The Martin clinic, we're big on high DHA. You guys know that. So this is vitamin O, but I want to tell you how it works and why it works even for Alzheimer's. Listen to what they're saying, [00:11:30] listen to the research, read the article. Go Google it, read it. There's two things that happen when you take Vascepa. Just take the oil, but Vascepa. Two things that happen. One, your triglycerides go down, fish oil, Omega-3. But remember it's got to be high DHA lowers your triglycerides.
Dr. Martin: What [00:12:00] are triglycerides? Dr. Martin, what are triglycerides? You guys and every day, every day, I looked at three people's today blood work. I'm not in the office, but they sent me their blood work and I analyzed it for them. And when it comes to their lipid profile, you know me, I'm interested in two things. When it comes to your lipid profile, in your blood work. I want to know what your triglycerides are and I want [00:12:30] to know what your HDL is, good cholesterol on Dr. Martin.
Dr. Martin: What about LDL? Well, what about it? I don't care. I don't care about your LDL. I don't care about your total cholesterol. It don't mean nothing. Nothing, honey, remember that. It don't mean nothing. I want to know what your triglycerides are. I want to know what your HDL is. So you find that out. If you want me to tell you, I'll tell you what it is now.
Dr. Martin: [00:13:00] Triglycerides are bad fats, three sugars. Remember what I said, Tri, Tri means three, glycerides sugars, three stored sugars that are sent into your bloodstream as terrible fats and the science of Vascepa is showing that when you take this high [00:13:30] DHA oil, it lowers your triglycerides. I'd been talking about that for so long. I get a headache thinking about it because people are, "Oh Dr. Martin, what's my cholesterol?" I don't care. I want to know what your good cholesterol is.
Dr. Martin: Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, triglycerides are. This is why Omega-3 works, this is why the FDA even agreed they look [00:14:00] at their studies. People led, took this dosage of Vascepa. We're lowering their triglycerides. You want to know how you can lower your triglycerides? Take high DHA oil, but you can also do it. You guys know this answer. How do you lower your triglycerides? You cut out the crappy carbs. People that have high triglycerides [00:14:30] are on the Titanic. They're going to hit the iceberg soon. You got to lower your triglycerides.
Dr. Martin: Women, very important for you ladies. Get your triglycerides under ... I like them under one for a woman, 1.71. I'm a guide for a very low triglyceride. Get them low, low, low, low, low. How do you do it? Well, obviously [00:15:00] by taking Omega-3. I take it every day and I take high DHA, Omega-3 and watch your carbs, cut your sugar.
Dr. Martin: If you don't do anything else but cut your sugars out, it will make a huge difference. In your triglyceride, in our four week reset, I can bring your triglycerides down usually to normal better than normal in four weeks. That's why I'm so excited [00:15:30] about [inaudible 00:15:31] coming to a theater near you. So Vascepa lowers your triglycerides. Unbelievable, but sodas, low carb eating and low sugar eating because triglyceride three sugars.
Dr. Martin: Where are triglycerides made? In your liver and when the suitcase is full, when the parking lot at Costco is full, your liver, it sends triglycerides. [00:16:00] It's trying to get rid of the extra fat in the liver fat that came from carbs up. It sending into your bloodstream as triglycerides. So this so-called drug, which is a supplement, it really is a supplement, but it's a very specific supplement of high DHA oil and that's why they got the [inaudible 00:16:28].
Dr. Martin: Good for them. [00:16:30] I got no problem with it. There's no side effects to it and that's wonderful, the FDA approved it and you know, the FDA doesn't approve natural products. If they got to come, the FDA is there to approve drugs for their safety and then for their claims and they won't allow natural products to make claims. You'll see, if you see a commercial for in the United States for a natural product then we will always say the FDA hasn't [00:17:00] approved these statements. They have to say that, that the FDA hasn't approved the statements we're making.
Dr. Martin: The FDA doesn't do it. The FDA will approve a drug if you show them the studies, and I'm always ... I'm not a big fan necessarily of the FDA, but they got this one right, big time. So number one, it lowers your triglycerides. That's how it works by the way, this is, I'm giving you the [00:17:30] biochemistry. How does it work? How does Vascepa work? How does Omega-3 high DHA oil work?
Dr. Martin: Number one, it lowers your triglycerides? And you guys know me. I'm always talking about lowering your triglycerides, lower your triglycerides, lower your triglycerides. And secondly, how does Vascepa work? It elevates, listen to this, it elevates your [00:18:00] HDL, good cholesterol, high-density lipoproteins. That's what HDL, ... You know when you read blood work, doesn't it drive you mental? You don't even know what they're looking for. Why don't they just say HDL, good cholesterol?
Dr. Martin: Why don't they say TG bad fat? They don't do that. Good people [00:18:30] the pharmaceutical industry wants to sell medication, but Vascepa got this right, I give them credit. It elevates your good cholesterol. Now how do you elevate your good cholesterol with food?
Dr. Martin: I'm waiting. How do you elevate good cholesterol with food? How do you elevate good cholesterol? How do you elevate in food? How do you elevate [00:19:00] your HDL, your good cholesterol. So you know how to lower triglycerides and you guys have got it, good fats. Listen, listen, listen, Linda listen, cholesterol is only found in the animal kingdom. It's only found in eggs, meat and cheese.
Dr. Martin: It's not found in the plants. Plants are good, [00:19:30] but they don't have cholesterol. Well, Dr. Martin, I thought cholesterol wasn't that good for you. That was a lie from the cereal companies. It was never true. You need good, good, good, good, go cholesterol. Why? I know you guys know this, but I'm going to teach it to you again. Repetition, repetition, rinse and repea, rinse and repeat. [00:20:00] That's my teaching way. It's the way I teach.
Dr. Martin: Rinse and repeat. Good cholesterol is fed ex. It's Canada post. It's U.S post, it is UPS. Give me another on, it is Amazon trucks on the highways of your blood vessels. Good cholesterol, HDL goes around and around and around [00:20:30] and around and around in your body looking for triglycerides, bad fat, and it takes the bad fat and it takes it out of your body. That's why you need good cholesterol.
Dr. Martin: God does not trust you to eat enough cholesterol. 85% of your cholesterol is made in your liver. [00:21:00] 15% comes from your diet, and when you are a vegetarian, when you are a vegan, you are making a huge mistake, a huge mistake because your good cholesterol will be good enough. That is a fact, that is biochemistry, that is science. You know when they say, oh, the [00:21:30] science's settled, I usually run when the doctor says the science's settled, but I'm going to tell you what is settled. Is the fact that you need good cholesterol.
Dr. Martin: Nobody denies that, you need good cholesterol, HDL. So your HDL ought to be two and a half times higher than your triglycerides, I read somebody's blood [00:22:00] work this morning, their triglycerides were almost three times higher than their HDL. I said, "You're on the Titanic, you're going to have a heart attack or a stroke."
Dr. Martin: So Vascepa or this Hyde HDL, because that's what it is. It's a special filtration process that gets the DHA to go way up. Because if you go to ... [00:22:30] I don't care, go to Costco, whatever you want to do, but look at your label first because you're not taking high DHA, if it doesn't have high DHA on the label. Like, oh it's got 200 milligrams. Well I got ...I take very high DHA oil. It's like it got almost 3000 in every capsule of milligrams. That's grams, three grams. I take lots of that stuff.
Dr. Martin: [00:23:00] Well, I want to protect myself from heart disease. I want to ... I read you the study, right? So let me ... I'll read it to you again. Higher levels of HDL, how do you get higher levels of HDL? Eggs, meat and cheese. Eggs, meat, cheese, and fish. Fish or red meat. Steak, grass feds got more [inaudible 00:23:25]. It's got more DHA than fish does. And fish is good. [00:23:30] I take fish oil every day.
Dr. Martin: Higher HDL, cholesterol levels, good cholesterol linked to reduced Alzheimer's risk. It's not only for your heart, whatever's good for your heart, is good for your brain. So this is in terms of heart disease. I listened to a doctor comment, a cardiologist comment on this study, are these FDA approval? And they said ... okay, I'm quoting, I'm just going to put [00:24:00] it in quotes. "The biggest breakthrough in heart medicine in years." Quoting, I quoted that. Cardiologist said, "This is the biggest breakthrough in cardiology medicine in years."
Dr. Martin: It's exciting guys. This is exciting. So [00:24:30] if the FDA approved the studies and approved this drug, now it can make claims. So you might see it on ... You won't see it on Canadian media because the health Canada doesn't allow it. But you will probably see this now on the U.S media, because you'll see on your nightly news and all these shows. You see, ask your doctor if this drug is good for you.
Dr. Martin: I [00:25:00] don't understand why you have to ask your doctor. But this one here, I would say, I would agree with. Ask your doctor if you can take this, but you can take it anyway. Eat it, lower your carbs, get your triglycerides down, elevate your good cholesterol, your HDL. And this reduces all risk of heart disease and stroke. Isn't that crazy? Isn't that wonderful news today?
Dr. Martin: I'm thrilled about it because it [00:25:30] just sort of cements what I have been telling you. So look, I take vitamin O every day, a high DHA oil every day, every day, every day, because I know it's good for me. I've been saying it for years. Okay, share this, I tell you, this is incredible, and what happens in your heart happens in your brain too.
Dr. Martin: Isn't that crazy? Those two organs [00:26:00] are very much connected. Your heart and brain, and this is why they're saying that when your HDL is elevated, you have less risk of having Alzheimer's or Dementia. I love you guys, I'm giving you the Don cherry thumbs-up. Spread the news, talk to you soon.
Announcer: You've reached the end of another Doctor is In podcast, with your hosts, Dr. Martin junior and senior. Be [00:26:30] sure to catch our next episode and thanks for listening.
