1919. Q&A with Dr. Martin

Dr. Martin answers questions sent in by our listeners in today's episode.

TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone. And once again, welcome to another live this morning and hope you're having a great start to your day. We appreciate you guys. Start of another week.

Okay, let's get back to our questions. Debbie is asking a question. I spoke to my family doctor this morning and she told me to stop all my supplements. She said my liver enzymes are high and at risk of falling.

Now that don't make sense. Okay, that don't make sense on two points. My liver enzymes are high. You don't want that.

And at risk of falling or of your liver failing. It's probably failing. Yeah. Okay.

That didn't make sense to me. Okay. Debbie, let me tell you this. Let me tell you this.

And I mean it. And I ain't backing down one iota. Tell your family doctor that I love her or him. Okay.

I do. But they're 100% wrong. You aren't getting liver stress. You're not getting elevated liver enzymes because you're taking supplements.

Okay. I'm sorry. It's not that. Okay.

It could be a lot of other things, but it's not that. And they paint with the wide brush. So they go, well, stop everything. Well, the best thing to do for your liver is stop eating carbohydrates.

That would be number one on my hip array. Okay. If you're drinking alcohol, stop that too. 100%.

That's liver. Okay. Because when the liver gets gummed up and the enzymes go up, it's usually because the liver is full of fat. And you want to empty the liver.

Supplements don't do that. Okay. Like, you know, I get it because they're so ignorant of supplements. They always blame supplements.

I mean, they never blame medication. Oh, you know, but they should. Okay. Like you want damaged liver, take a statin drug.

You want damaged liver, high blood pressure medications will do that. And you know, because they're ignorant of supplements, they paint it with a wide brush. Oh, stop all your supplements. Okay.

You don't need them because they don't like supplements in the first place. And you don't need them. Anyway, like it drives me mental, but what are you going to do? It gives me a migraine, but what are you going to do?

It's just the way it is. So you do whatever you think is right. Debbie, I'm not going to tell you not to do what a doctor tells you to do. I'm just giving you my two cents about it.

Okay. And I'm going to give you some common sense. Medications is what people like even Tylenol. You want to see the research on Tylenol and what it does to your liver, like over the counter, Tylenol, over the counter antihistamine.

They'll do more damage to your liver. And it ain't even close, but doctors, oh, stop all your supplements. What can I tell you other than I go on a rant? Because I heard that for 50 years in my practice.

My doctor, they're saying stop the supplements because you don't need them and they're bad and they're going to damage your kidneys and going to damage your liver. No, they don't. Okay. I'm sorry.

They don't. They actually help. Okay. So what can I tell you?

Thanks for the question, Debbie. I appreciate it. Carmel's asking about what Dr. Martin thinks of beetroot.

Well, why do you take beetroot? Okay. Because it's popular today. And I just got to tell you, especially in my radio days, there was a hot topic every week and some lasted a month.

Okay. So beetroot, like they've got these beetroot gummies, and I see commercials on TV. Why do you take beetroot? Oh, to elevate your nitric oxide.

So that's why they have them for your blood pressure. Right? And these are good for prostate and whatever. Okay.

And ED and men and beetroot. I got no problem with that. But you got to understand when you're asking me, now I'm going to compare it to something that I know. Okay.

Because I understand what beets do. And beets are good for you. I don't particularly like them. Okay.

To eat them. That's just me. A lot of people love them. You know, it's a taste thing.

Right. But I like beets. They elevate your nitric oxide. But I'm going to tell you what I like better.

Okay. I like vitamin D better, because that elevates your nitric oxide. Go in the sun. It's on my t-shirt.

Sun, steak, and steel. Okay. Steel. Muscle.

That elevates your nitric oxide. But the number one, in my opinion, number one, because that's what I'm very familiar with, including for blood pressure and anything circulation. Eyes, brain, heart. I like Navitol better.

I like pine bark better. And the research on pine bark is much more extensive than that of beetroot. But I like beetroot. You want to take it?

I got no problem. You want to take it as a supplement? Go for it. But when you're asking me, I compare it.

That's what I do. I compare it to what I know. Okay. I compare it to what I know.

Thanks for the question. And that was Carmel. Linda. Oh, we love Lindas.

Dr. Martin gives us cancer protocol. Yep, I do. Which includes the oil of oregano.

Yep. Because, and the reason I do it, okay, here's the reason I do it. If you go on social media and Google cancer, you're going to get a lot of people talking about cancer and parasites. Okay.

Now, I've been around for a long time. I've talked about cancer and yeast. Cancer and mold. Cancer fungus.

I'm more of a fungus guy than I am a parasite guy. Although, you want to kill the parasites? Good. I got no problem with them.

Okay. But I've always talked about in cancer, the Trojan horse that gets into your system, into your bloodstream and travels, and that is fungal antibiotics. They carpet bomb your microbiome. You get a yeast that sets up shock, the Trojan horse.

It gets into your bloodstream through leaky gut and fungus, in my opinion, is often at the root of tumors. There's a lot of research on that. Okay. But now it's in the last couple of years, they've talked about ivermectin as a cancer treatment.

In ivermectin, they kill parasites. Hey, no problem at all with me. And if you got cancer, you want to use ivermectin or fungal medication, all for it. 100%.

Okay. But from a natural point of view, there is nothing stronger, antibiotic, antiparasitic, antiviral, antifungal, than oil of oregano. It's the strongest of those four conditions, the strongest natural compound, in my opinion, in the world, natural. That's why I include it in my cancer protocol, because I'm going after fungus.

And it's a very powerful antioxidant. Okay. It'll kill parasites. That's why I like oil of oregano.

I don't think there's anything superior to it in the natural realm. Okay. In the natural realm. So how much?

Well, that's a good question. If someone is diagnosed with cancer, I would be taking probably three or four drops of oil of oregano, two times a day. Okay. And probably not less, and not too much more, because oil of oregano is very powerful.

Okay. But the good thing with oil of oregano, and I've said this for many, many years, it does not kill your friendly bacteria. Okay. And don't, can people have this idea?

Well, Dr. Martin, it's an antibiotic. Yes. It's a natural antibiotic.

It doesn't kill your good guys. It kills your bad guys. Okay. So that's why you can take oil of oregano every day.

I do. And I love it. Okay. So how much?

That's what I'm saying. If you had cancer and you use it as a cancer treatment to kill fungus and to kill shrink tumors and to kill parasites, three or four drops two times a day would be my recommendation. You could use less than that. You could use more than that.

That's what I like. Okay. You're asking, I'm telling you. Okay.

Joan, pseudo-go. Okay. So I think we talked about this the other day a little bit. Because somebody was asking about calcification.

There was Corrine asking about calcification in finger joints. Okay. If they come on fairly suddenly, because it sounds like your husband went to a doctor. We talked about this the other day because he thought maybe he had broke his finger, broken bone because of the pain.

Like usually guys, when you get osteoarthritis, okay, generally, okay, always exceptions, you get osteoarthritis and usually it's chronic stiffness and you can see the nodules and you're, you know, that may be the deformity, but usually it's not acutely painful. Whereas gout, acute, come out of nowhere and very painful.

Okay. I'm more thinking and again, it wouldn't take me long if I saw your husband in my practice. You don't know how many times I used to tell patients, nah, that's not our, it's gouty arthritis. You got gout.

Well, you know, my doctor said, well, look, taking a blood test for gout while you're having a gout attack, not the best time because the body's trying to get rid of the uric acid during that time and it's not a good time to check your blood results. You wait till after and generally, yeah. Now, pseudo gout, okay, and I think I explained this the other day, is calcium.

It's calcium, not uric acid. That's pseudo gout and can be very painful. But guys, let me step back just a little bit because we're talking about gout. Why on earth?

I'm a why guy. Why, why, why, why, why? That's me. Something happens.

Why? Okay. No. Why has gout gone up 300% in the last 30, 40 years?

Why? I asked the question. Why is it so much more frequent than it used to be? Gout's been around for a long time.

It's biblical. Okay. People have suffered gout a long time, but I explain what's changed. Why so much gout today?

I'll tell you why. A couple of reasons. One, uric acid, fructose. The worst thing you can do is drink fructose.

You want to eat a fruit? I got no problem with that. You want to eat an apple? An apple a day does not keep the doctor awake.

A steak a day does. Okay. But you want to have an apple? Eat an apple.

You want to have an orange? Eat orange. Okay. I don't want you drinking fruit.

It's the worst thing. And then the world always thinks, man thinks they're smarter than God. So what do they do? They invented a sugar called high fructose corn syrup.

Oh, it comes from corn. It must be good. No, it's the antichrist of sugars. It's called high fructose corn syrup and it's in everything.

It's in your sodas. It's in your cookies. It's in ketchup. It's in everything.

Anything that's got sugar added. Why? It's cheap. The food industry love it.

They put it in everything. And it's addictive. And it takes a beeline. It don't pass, go.

It goes right to your liver. It's processed in your liver the same way alcohol is processed in your liver. And anyone that ever got gout, a doctor worth his salt will tell you, you know what, you got to lay off the alcohol. Well, you got to lay off the high fructose corn syrup too.

That is one of the number one factors why we see so much gout today. Okay. Now, pseudo-gout is calcium. It's calcium oxalates, salad, spinach, almonds, drinking almond milk.

When I see almond milk, I get a migraine. When I see soy, I get a migraine. Well, dog, I can't have dairy. Well, then don't I drink milk at all?

Why do you need milk? Drink cream. I don't even want you drinking a lot of it. I want you to drink water and coffee and stop the rest.

You're drinking too much tea. Oxalates. Calcium oxalates. Okay.

Without the vitamin K2 to get rid of it. Pseudo-gout. We're seeing more of them. Uric acid through the roof.

Fructose. High fructose corn syrup. I see all these young people. I want to give them a high five because they're going into a coffee shop.

They must be listening to the doctor is in. You know how much I love coffee, right? They must be listening to me. I see these young people.

They're coming into the coffee shops and oh good, you're drinking. No, they're not. They're drinking all these lattes and they have their chai tea and they add all the fructose to them. And I said, you guys don't know what you're doing to yourselves.

Okay. You didn't learn that on the doctor is in podcast. Anyway, okay. So thanks for the question.

Gout and pseudo-gout. Pseudo-gout is rarer than the numbers of gout. Okay. But you've got to change your diet and change your drinking habits.

Okay. I think I handled this the other day. Picos has been changed. The name has actually been changed to Pimos.

Metabolic. It's insulin and estrogen. Cancer. Insulin, estrogen.

Groparmos. Insulin, estrogen. Okay. Thomas, donating platelets every two weeks.

The last eight months having trouble donating veins. They're not cooperating. And you're drinking lots of water. I'd add some salt, Thomas, because you may be, make sure you're getting enough electrolytes.

Could alcohol have something to do with it? Possibly. Yeah. Add some salt to your water, Thomas.

Okay. His veins ain't cooperating. Grace takes 35% cream and her coffee. If you're going to do that, you're a smart girl.

Okay. But according to the cream does not contain harmful carrageenan, according to the listed ingredients of Kim. Okay. I just got to get to the question.

You've been diagnosed with severe arthritis in both hip joints. Could arthritis be removed naturally? Look, I'm a big guy on curcumin. I'm a big guy on the combination of Navitol, curcumin, high DHA.

Do it all. But if you got severe arthritis in both hip joints, you may be too far advanced. I hate to say it sometimes. Look, it's at a point of no return.

Do everything you can. Sun, steak, steel, and sleep. But if you've got advanced arthritis and the hips are bone on bone, you might be a candidate for hip replacements. You know what I mean?

Unless a miracle happens. And I'm all into miracles. But if you're asking, I don't know. Okay.

But you keep drinking the 35% cream. Okay. Darla's asking if she can take too much salt. Possibly.

You know, I'm not too worried about salt. I'm worried about sugar. Okay. The only time you can get too much salt is if you're not drinking any water.

I don't worry about salt. Doctors worry about salt and they blame salt for what sugar did. Worry about sugar, not salt. And make sure you're getting a good salt.

Okay. Like a good Himalayan salt. Because it's got 84 minerals in it. It's a true electrolyte.

I think I answered it. Let me see. Am I there already? My word.

I think I answered everything. Isn't that beautiful? I'm just going to make sure here. Okay.

Oh, Shereen is asking about the monoclonal spike protein. You're asking about the vaccines. Right. Well, look, I've been talking about this for a long time.

Okay. I leave the vaccines over here. I leave that to medicine. Okay.

I really do. I don't comment too much whether children getting vaccinated, whether you take a flu shot or whatever. I had a radio show for years, Shereen, and they used to tell me on my radio show, but you got to be careful because the CRTC in Canada, they're listening and they don't want you going off the reservation and talking about vaccines and the flu shot, whether the flu shot works.

You got to make that decision, not me. The monoclonal spike protein that they use during COVID, I'm going to leave that over there because I got rules on this program and I don't want to be canceled. So here's what I say. You got medicine over here and this is what they talk about all the time.

You need a vaccine, you need this, you need that. You got to have your, look, here's me, Shereen. I look after you. I look after you.

Okay. Take care of yourself. I want you to take care of your immune system. Okay.

And I know what works. Okay. Okay. It's like the oxygen mask coming down from the ceiling in the event that we have no oxygen, the cabin in an airplane, it says those masks are going to come automatically.

Okay. And you know what it says? Put your mask on before helping anybody else. So here's me, Shereen, put your mask on.

I don't mean a mask. I mean, take care of yourself. Take care of your own immune system. This is why I talk about when I do the natural flu shot, what do I talk about?

Vitamin D, leaky gut, sun, steak, and steel. You take care of your immune system. You want me to talk about the monoclonal COVID vaccine? I won't go there.

Okay. I won't go there because you read everything you want to read about that. I'll tell you what my expertise is. My expertise is your nutrition, your immune system, that your immune system is looking for the sun.

You've got antennas on your T cells that are looking, they got little antenna for sunlight and vitamin D. Am I big on that? You bet your boots I'm big on it. I'm not going to get into controversy in that sense.

I'm controversial enough as it is. Okay. Did I like the vaccines? Yeah.

Okay. I just talked about what you should do as an individual to take care of yourself. I think I answered everything. Oh, here's one.

A six-year-old lady, I didn't answer this one. Diagnosed with Prurigo nodularum. Give it to a doctor. These are these big, they're like welts and they're itchy and they're open sores and you scratch the living life out of them, get infected.

And what are you asking? What is Dr. Martin's advice? Start inside out.

Anything you see on the skin, start inside out. That woman 100% has leaky gut and it's bad. And I'm going to give you another thing. She's got fungal infection and it's showing up in her skin.

And perhaps because of the meds she's been taking. Okay. You want to see what it'll affect your liver and then your skin, kidneys, and then your skin are medication, not supplements. Now we started with our show today.

That person got to fix the leaky gut first. And I guarantee has a major fungal infection. Okay. That was David who knows the lady.

Shelly, with Dr. Martin, calling on this and my husband's cardiologist stated that high LDL cholesterol is the cause of inflammation. That's Shelly. Shelly, can you see my migraines starting?

Can you? Okay. I get enough migraine by the question. I'm glad you are.

Can high LDL cause inflammation? No. Never. Under no circumstances.

No. Inflammation ain't Houdini. What causes inflammation? Bad food.

Bad food. Leaky gut. Okay. Bad food, leaky gut, environmental, all the plastic.

You know, we live in a toxic soup. That causes inflammation. LDL cholesterol is on your side. You can't live without LDL.

As a matter of fact, the higher your LDL, the longer you will live. Fact. My migraine's going away now because I'm talking about it. I need therapy some days.

I got to talk about it. Because when I hear stupidity, I get a migraine. Okay. Then I have to talk about it.

And the migraine goes away. Because you're just asking questions and I actually appreciate the questions. It's just that when I hear a doctor say, well, LDL cholesterol causes inflammation in the body, he's 66 years old and his triglycerides and HDL ratio is excellent. There's the thumbs up.

That's what's good for you. That's what I look at. I look at LDL. I look at cholesterol, total cholesterol.

But I don't care unless it's low. Why do you want to have low cholesterol? Just because they said that's good for you? No, it ain't.

Your brain's made up of cholesterol. As a matter of fact, let me see. Did I answer this the other day? Rhonda, did I answer this?

I don't remember. What are the long-term and short-term deficiencies or side effects caused by statins? Well, you're lowering cholesterol. Your brain is made up of cholesterol and DHA fat.

Statins work? That's the problem. Do statins work? Yeah, they work.

They lower cholesterol. Okay, but that's not helping you. That's making you worse. Statin drugs, they work.

They will lower your cholesterol. Does that get rid of heart disease? No. If it did, we would have won by now.

Heart disease is still the number one killer in North America. We're looking for love in all the wrong places. One of the biggest things in statin drugs, statin therapy, I used to see it in my office all the time. I had a patient, I remember this because it's vivid in my memory.

This guy comes in, he said, Doc, I can't untie my shirt. He was 50, five maybe. What? My hands don't work.

I have such pain in my hands and my shoulders and my arms. I said, first question, are you taking a statin drug? He said, what's that? A drug for your cholesterol.

He said, yeah. I said, stop. That's what's causing your rhombolythesis, your muscle pain. Your heart's a muscle, isn't it?

You're destroying CoQ10, aren't you? A week later, he comes to the office without an appointment to give me a hug because he could use his arms again. He said, Doc, give me a hug. I said, why?

Because he said, I couldn't hug anybody. I couldn't even move my arms. Now I can move my arms. Oh yeah?

Yeah. My doctor said, I'm going to have a heart attack unless I lower my cholesterol. Oh, okay. I think now officially I'm done.

Okay, guys, got a great week, lots of studies. I'm reading right in front of me here. One, two, three new studies, four new studies, right in front of me on my first page here of my yellow notepad. Okay, guys, we love you more than you know.

Thanks for all the questions. I hope I got all of them. If I missed any of them, let me know, please. Info at Martin Clinic. Talk to you soon.
