Announcer:Β  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:Β  Well, good morning, everyone. And once again, welcome to another live this morning. Nice to have you on with us. We sure appreciate it, guys.

Especially when you can come on live, we know that's not always possible. And you can always rewatch these as podcasts, the doctors in podcast. So welcome to Facebook Live, guys. Okay, here's one.

Hi, Patricia in Florida. This is a study just came out. People who take probiotics. Hello.

Where have you heard that? People who consume probiotics decrease their risk of colon cancer by 50%. Holy moly. Who knew?

How long have we been talking about probiotics on this program? As long as you've been around that I guarantee. And before this program, radio show 20 years before. So let's go back to the year 1999 or whatever radio show.

And even before that, because I wrote books on leaky gut and leaky brain in chronic fatigue syndrome, I talked about probiotics, the microbiome, which is probably the most fascinating field in medicine right now. The studies coming out on probiotics and the microbiome and leaky gut, which I can tell you guys, I go back a long time.

I remember mentioning leaky gut and yeast to my physician friends. They thought I flipped my lid. They probably still do. No, they thought it was crazy.

Well, if you ever had yeast in your gut and it got into your bloodstream, like a fungus, you're going to die. I heard that. I said, no, no, you might die, but it ain't going to happen right away. And I was ridiculed for that.

Hey, guys, listen, don't feel sorry for me. I'm used to it. But I would just say, listen, I've seen a lot of leaky gut in my day. And, you know, it's unfortunate for people that they don't understand.

And, you know, you would think everybody and their dog today would be taking probiotics. Like anybody that studied the microbiome would agree. And look, I love fermented food. I love yogurt.

I do. Okay, because people have said that, well, doc, I eat yogurt every day. Well, good for you. Yogurt is wonderful.

It has some probiotics. But, guy, I've done programs on this. What are you going to do? Take one capsule of our probiotics and you'll never get broad spectrum in yogurt.

You're going to eat 16,000 four ounce yogurts. Come on. Now, look, guys, I want you to eat yogurt. I want you to eat pickles.

I love fermented food. Sour crumb. Is it good for you? Is it good for your gut?

You bet your boots it's good for you. For sure. Okay. Kefir, kefir, kefir, whatever you call it.

Is it good for you? Yeah. As long as you don't add sugar to it. I like it.

I'm on your side. I'm just telling you. The evidence is so overwhelming on probiotics. You know, for people that don't listen to that, what can I tell you?

Listen, Linda, listen, Larry. And if you don't listen, hello. People who consume, here's the study. People who consume probiotics decrease their risk of colorectal cancer by 50%.

Well, that's a lot. Why wouldn't you do it? And by the way, colorectal cancer today, guys, is on steroids. It used to be an old man's disease.

It's on steroids today. There's so much of it. And, you know, here's what they teach. Even today, even guru that I have a lot of respect for, they still teach, oh, it's red meat.

No, it ain't. We're eating less red meat than ever. We're down 30% in our consumption of red meat. And colorectal cancer is going straight up, guys.

It's not red meat. It's sugar. Sugar feeds the invasive army of Candida. That leads to major disruption of that microbiome.

Big time. You're feeding the wrong guys. When you eat a steak, it's a prebiotic. It's a postbiotic.

It's good for you. You know, because people, you gotta have fiber, fiber to feed your, you know, you gotta have fiber to feed your microbiome. Who told you that? Who told you that?

But there's a narrative out there, oh, well, red meat, that's bad. That's bad. No, it's not bad. Your body loves that.

It's a complete food. It's like eating an egg. It's a complete food. It has everything in it.

Your microbiome love that. The bad guys, Candida, they don't feed on that. Cancer hates steak. It hates it.

Can't feed on it. Cancer loves sugar. They feed them. It's the way it is.

So guys, people who consume probiotics decrease the risk of colorectal cancer by 50%. What should you do? You know, people ask me, what should I do, doc? There's your answer.

No, it's up to you. I can bring a horse to water. I can't make them drink it. I can't make them drink it.

But again, I've been consistent about it. Consistent about it. You want to take care of your gut? You want to take care of your bowel?

Don't feed the bears, because that's what they eat. The bad yeast and Candida and the bad microbiome, they live off sugar. So why would you give it to them? I know that's elementary for you guys, because you've been around for a long time.

You guys know this, but you know what? Again, again, I tell you how to take care of your microbiome. Okay, people who consume probiotics. Talk about prevention.

50% decrease in colorectal cancer. Okay, that's one step. We're going to do three studies this morning. Another study on the significance of CoQ10 and your heart.

When I hear CoQ10, I don't know how your mind goes. I don't know how your mind goes, but this is how mine goes. I hear CoQ10, I think of batteries. I think of batteries.

What? Yeah, well, batteries. Your mitochondria, it's a battery pack. You're a solar panel.

Your body operates on batteries. They're called your mitochondria. And CoQ10, okay, here's the study. The significance of CoQ10 and heart disease, especially, here's what it says, in type 2 diabetics.

Okay, that's what we call adult onset diabetes, which is really, and they changed the name, sugar diabetes. You're a diabetic, you and sugar don't get along. You might like it, but they don't like you. That's diabetes, guys.

That's metabolic syndrome. 93% of the population. Okay, the significance of CoQ10 and your batteries, because this is what it is. It doesn't even talk about it in the study.

It just says that CoQ10, a diabetic, ought to be taking CoQ10. Ubiquinol. You can get ubiquinone, but the best is ubiquinol. CoQ10.

Why? Batteries. Mitochondria. Mitochondria, your battery packs, need CoQ10.

Now, how do you eat CoQ10? I'll wait for the answer. How do you eat CoQ10? How do you get CoQ10 in food?

Okay, a little test. If you want to, I'm waiting on the scroll. Okay, let's see. How do you get CoQ10 in food?

Waiting. Kathy, if you were here, I'd give you a high five. Sandy, high five. Ornella, close, because she said hey.

Judy said steak. Grace said steak. Ornella, I love it because you're thinking OMC. Yep.

Kevin, steak. It's specifically though, it's steak. Okay. Janice, steak and liver.

I don't like liver. Sue, steaks. Karen, steak. Darren, steak.

Oh, my audience. Hi, Vince, steak. Darlene, red meat. Nativity, yeah.

Wanda, yeah. Am I ever going to ever be able to stump you guys? Marl, David, you know, Cheryl. Am I going to be able to stump you guys ever again, Anna, Lori?

Steak, steak, steak. Georgie. Yeah. Okay, so guys, okay, let's get back to this study.

Think of how significant this is. By the way, we talk about this a lot. Diabetics are 10 times more likely to have a heart attack. If you got metabolic syndrome, you're on the Titanic, 93% of the population, you have trouble with insulin.

That is very, very, very significant in terms of heart disease. The number one killer today. We're not even making a dent, for heaven's sakes, in it. And the importance of CoQ10.

And then you get people my age, 60, 70% of them are taking a statin drug to lower their cholesterol. Well, we're going to come to this in the third study if we have time this morning, okay, because I'm on a little tangent. CoQ10, think of where you have the most batteries, guys. Where do you have the most batteries?

Heart, muscle, brain, energy. You've got a lot of mitochondria up in your brain. You've got a lot of mitochondria. Heart, it's a pump.

It needs a lot of energy. You have mitochondria. Essential for the mitochondria is CoQ10. And even before I want you to supplement with it, and you need to supplement with it if you're on a statin drug, you got any kind of heart condition, you ought to be taking ubiquinol.

But I want you to put your heart in a statin drug. You're not going to be taking a heart condition. You ought to be taking ubiquinol. But I want you primarily to eat your ubiquinol.

I want you to eat it. Your body produces it when you eat steak, sun steak and steel. Okay. Think of batteries.

Think of your mind. It operates on batteries, your mitochondria. You learn that in high school. You know, like you can hardly talk to a doctor about mitochondria.

What? Well, you're giving out a medication, statin drugs, they'd kill your mitochondria. It kills it. Oh yeah, but I lowered your cholesterol.

I always think of that fireman, the old commercial. The fireman came down the fire pole at the fire station. And then when he got to the bottom, he gave everybody, every other firefighter there, a high five because he had lowered his cholesterol. Brought to you by Crestor.

Brought to you by Zocor. Oh, I used to get migraines, guys, when I watched that commercial. Oh, ask your doctor. Ask your doctor if Crestor is good for you.

You don't have to ask your doctor. That's what they got trained to do. Lower cholesterol. Every day, every day, every day I get asked, Dr.

Martin, they want to put me on a statin drug. Okay, I know. I know. Okay, another study on the significance of CoQ10 and heart disease, especially in type 2 diabetic.

And remember, we say this all the time on this program, there's really no such thing as pre-diabetic. You did the diabetic. And the last thing to happen is your blood sugar is going to go up. It's the last thing, never the first, it's the last thing down.

But you're on the Titanic way before that. They just don't teach you that. Okay, they don't teach you that. Okay, now let's do it because this is a new study.

And we'll finish with this today. The higher, listen, Linda, listen, the higher your cholesterol, as you age, the better it is for you. Meta analysis, looking at all the studies, the higher your cholesterol, the better it is. And then they say, in not only in all cause mortality, I said to a lady the other day, she said, I'm lowering my cholesterol.

I said, oh, you want to die young? She looked at me like, are you crazy? You want to die young? All cause mortality, you're lowering your cholesterol.

But here's the big one, okay, all cause mortality. That's a big one, but cognitive, the higher your cholesterol, the better your brain works as you age. A fact. Fathead.

Your brain's made up of cholesterol. Your brain's made up of cholesterol and high DHA fat. How do you like that? Cognitive goes up.

You know what they're showing, especially with LDL cholesterol? The higher your LDL cholesterol, especially as you get older, the higher your LDL cholesterol, especially as you get older. It's supposed to be the bad guy. It's not the bad guy at all.

As a matter of fact, they're showing, okay, that the higher your LDL cholesterol, guess what? The better your immune system works. Immunity. Brain cognitive immunity.

Okay. Immunity. The higher your cholesterol, as you age, the less risk you have of diabetes. Now guys, you know me and the way I talk.

God doesn't trust you. Okay. That's the way I talk. God doesn't trust you.

85% of your cholesterol, your body makes it. Okay. Your body makes it. God don't trust you.

You need cholesterol. Every cell in your body needs cholesterol. Every cell needs cholesterol. Every cell needs cholesterol.

Cholesterol are FedEx trucks, Canada Post, US Post, Amazon trucks. They're on the highways. They're not the bad guy. They're delivering your hormones.

One of the biggest problems that men and women have, they don't have enough hormone delivery because they're hammering their cholesterol down. They're avoiding eating eggs, meat and cheese. Why do you think, guys, the animal kingdom gets so vilified? Why?

Cholesterol in it. Well, you can't get cholesterol. Cholesterol is not found in the plant kingdom. It's not found in the plant kingdom.

You don't eat a fruit to get cholesterol. And so when you think cholesterol is the boogeyman, you go, well, better to eat a fruit than a steak. Guys, there's no comparison. I like fruit because people have accused me of that.

You're a carnivore. No, I'm not. I'm not a carnivore. You want to have fruit?

Promise me you won't drink it. You want to have fruit? You want to have some berries? You want to eat an apple?

By the way, an apple a day does not keep the doctor away. A steak a day does. But you see, they so vilify cholesterol, they made it such a boogeyman that the plant kingdom has been up on the food chain, better for you than the animal kingdom, according to the gurus. They're 100% wrong.

100% wrong. You guys know me. I've never backed off that statement, ever. I hate the word science because they misuse that.

They want to shut people up so they say, well, follow the science. But for heaven's sakes, guys, bring me a steak or an egg and bring me any fruit and vegetable that you want, any one, and you put it up in terms of nutritional profile, it ain't even close. Cholesterol, immune system better. Your brain's better.

Your heart? That's right. Your brain's immune system better. Your brain's better.

Your heart? That's what they're saying, heart disease. Diabetes, the higher your cholesterol, especially when you age, part of healthy aging is you want your cholesterol to go up, not down. Guys, you've heard it here.

Higher cholesterol as you age. Hello. I know I've been saying this for so long. You think I would get tired of it? I don't. I don't.Β

Okay, guys, tomorrow's Q&A, so send your questions in to info at martinclinic.com. Guys, we love you dearly and sincerely. Talk to you soon.
