Announcer:Β You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin:Β Well, good morning, everyone. And once again, welcome to another live this morning. Good to have you on and join us here on the Doctor is in. Okay, I got five studies.
Well, one of them is not a study. It's a question I got asked. Okay. Where do I start?
Let's start with Tamiflu. Oh, I get a migraine. I got a migraine. Now, okay, Tamiflu has been around a long time.
A medication that they give for the flu bug. Okay, called Tamiflu. Roche. Pharmaceuticals.
Made about 20 billion bucks selling this thing. Guys, I remember back in my radio being asked about this. And I was never impressed with Tamiflu. Never impressed because it didn't seem to work.
And I was never impressed with Tamiflu. Never impressed because it didn't seem to work. And guys, you know me, I'm more interested in you building your immune system. Okay.
And does that mean you're never going to get sick? No. But you usually will shorten the duration. If your vitamin D levels are optimized, if you're laying off the sugar, because sugar, nothing will kill your immune system like sugar does.
It puts your white blood cells, your Navy Seals, to sleep. And you need the sun. That's why you don't get the flu in the summer. The flu is seasonal.
Guys, that's just the fact. That doesn't mean you couldn't get it in the summer. The facts are facts, guys. When is the flu season?
It's coming to a theater near us in the fall and winter. The worst months are the dark months, December, January, February, for the flu season. It's just the way it happens every year. They developed a medication called Tamiflu.
And I got a migraine then, and I get a migraine now. Why? Because you read about what it really does. Okay.
And nobody ever done a real trial with it. And they finally did a trial. Let me read it to you here. I've got to get it up on my iPad here.
Okay. Devastating. Over 20 years after the media and Roche, R-O-C-H-E, began hyping the flu treatment, Tamiflu, researchers finally ran a trial to see if it works in very sick flu patients. You know what happened?
It killed them. It made it worse. I remember when it came out, because I've been around a long time, and the big hype around this flu medication, my word, you're better off with chicken soup. Okay.
You're better off with that than Tamiflu. They did the research on, they finally ran a trial and they said, you know what, it made them worse than Tamiflu. And they said, they ran a trial and they said, you know what, it made them worse and it made them die, some of them. I wonder if we'll see this in the mainstream media.
Tamiflu, okay, let me just read it again. Tamiflu for five to 10 days increases the death rate from flu in critically old patients by 43%. Guys, you're kidding. No, I'm not kidding.
Oh, anyway. Hello. It's another hello, lady. And it's not funny, but I get a migraine, guys.
I get a migraine. Okay. Number two, I posted this yesterday. I don't post things very often.
I should post more, but I'm a senior. I forget. I get sidetracked. One sugary drink a day.
Did you guys see this? I posted it on our private Facebook group. Okay. One sugary drink a day nearly triples the risk of stomach cancer.
Yeah. One sugary drink a day nearly triples the risk of stomach cancer, according to a new study from Mass General Brigham, tracking more than 100,000 participants over decades. Researchers found that fructose. Guys, I told you so.
The Antichrist of sugars. High fructose corn syrup. All the soda companies, all of them, switched their sugars in the 1980s. They went from glucose to fructose.
And oh, fructose must be good. Fructose from fruit. High fructose corn syrup made in a lab. And guys, you want to have a fruit?
You want to have an orange? Eat the orange. Don't drink it. Eat it.
God wanted you to eat it, not drink it. Eat an apple. Don't drink apple juice. You want to have a little bit of apple cider vinegar?
I got no problem with that. There ain't no fructose in it. You don't drink fructose. Don't drink it.
You want to eat it? Eat it. And one thing you guys know, you don't need to follow me very long. You don't have to go back even very far, but you could.
And I've been screaming like John the Baptist in the wilderness since the 80s, over 45 years. Hello. Don't drink high fructose corn syrup because it goes directly to your liver and don't pass gold. It is so destructive.
And what are they saying? Okay, what are they saying? Researchers found that fructose, the sweetener, okay, in sodas, fruit punches, lemonade, okay, in sodas, fruit punches, lemonade, Gatorade, okay, those sports drinks. How do they sweeten them?
High fructose corn syrup. And there's 99 different names that they allow them to use to hide it. High gastric cancer risk. And let me say this, in any other cancer that you want to think about.
We talked about this yesterday. Cancer needs sugar. Needs sugar. And high fructose corn syrup is sugar on steroids.
It's a different puppy altogether. And it's packing liver with fat. We never seen the likes of it. And now they're saying, because guys, I'm going to tell you a little bit about stomach cancer history, okay?
Let me give you some history. When I was in school in the days of Noah, it was an old man's disease. It was an old man's disease. One.
It was very rare. And old men would get it. Almost nobody else. Today, a very, not only aggressive cancer, but a deadly cancer.
And it's happening in young people. And it's much more prevalent. And so is, by the way, cancers that are similar to it. And let me give you a few examples.
Pancreatic cancer. Again, go back to my medical textbooks. In the 70s, pancreatic cancer. Rare indeed.
Old men. Why do they pick on old men? Okay. Why?
See, pancreatic, guys. And stomach. Sugar. But no, it's not just sugar.
It's high fructose corn syrup. And you know another one that is very prevalent today in young people and never was before? A third one that was an old man's cancer. Three.
Colorectal. And today, it's a cancer of young people. Why? I know you guys are a why audience.
Okay. And so am I. I'm a why guy. Why is it happening?
Why is it more prevalent? Why is stomach cancer happening and the numbers are going through the roof? And why is it? Okay.
And I'll give you another one. Esophageal. Comparatively. I'm just saying compared to what it used to be, numbers.
And guys, high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup. The sugar on steroids that are packing up the livers of kids. And I'll tell you another thing.
When you think of what it does, when it packs up the liver with fat, because that's what happens, high fructose corn syrup goes right to the liver and it packs up the liver with fat. Okay. I'm going to take out five pounds of fat again for you. For my live audience.
Okay. And what does this do? What does this fat do inside your liver? Well, when the liver gets full, it sends out triglycerides.
Fat balls. They're sent into the bloodstream. And if you don't have good HDL, because if your triglycerides are high, your HDL is low. And HDL are your trucks with wagons on the highways and byways of your blood vessels going after those triglycerides.
I mean, they have a delivery, okay. They're FedEx, US Postal Service, Amazon trucks. They're delivering, but they got a wagon in the back. Okay.
You ever seen those two trailer trucks? Okay. Your HDL has got a wagon in the back, because in the front it's got a hormone. When they tell you to lower your cholesterol, run, forest, run.
They don't know what they're talking about. Why do you want to lower cholesterol? Cholesterol delivers your hormones. Cholesterol helps to deliver your vitamin D.
Why do you want to lower it? I get a migraine because I hear it every day. It's at the root of heart disease. No, it ain't.
Well, it is if it's low. Your HDL's got wagons. One, delivers. Two, it's got a back to it, a back trailer that picks up triglycerides in your blood.
How are triglycerides made? Oh, in the liver. When the liver gets full of fat, that's how your body dumps it. So what does that do?
Well, that increases your risk of heart attacks, strokes. They're fat balls. Fat don't make you fat. Sugar does.
And the worst one is high fructose corn syrup. And besides that, and I've done this on other programs with you, it skyrockets your uric acid, which is a very important metabolic marker. And one sugary drink a day. Oh, that's the right.
I start my day with Tropicana. Don't do that. Don't do that. That's not good for you.
You want to start your day with a coffee, with a coffee, but water before it, with a little bit of salt. Take my word for it. And then have a coffee. I couldn't drink in juice.
You don't need it. You've been lied to by the cereal companies and the rest of them. They lie. One sugary drink a day increases your risk big time of stomach cancer.
And guys, just take my word for it. Colorectal, pancreatic. That's why we see so much pancreatic cancer. I'm telling you.
Pancreatic cancer. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. And you weren't meant, and I were never meant, to consume that kind of sugar.
And especially when they changed the sugar. Here's our world, guys. Here's the world. They changed the oil, right?
Instead of butter, they went to Crisco. They went to Margarine. That stuff, guys, that kind of oil, belongs in your car. I just went and got my oil change in my truck.
Here's what they said to me. Here's what they said when I went for my oil change. I don't know nothing. First question.
Do you want fully synthetic? Fully synthetic. Well, I said, I don't consume fully synthetic. And they looked at me like I had three heads.
I was just pulling their leg. I said, but is it better for the truck? And it was a she. She said, yep, it's better for your truck.
I said, well, it's not better for your body. She looks at me like, who is this nutcase? What's he talking about? Well, I said, butter or margarine?
And she didn't know what I was talking about. But this is the world. The world changed the oil. Better to put fully synthetic in your body like canola oil, Canada's gift to the world.
Can oil, cotton seed oil. You can run your car on it. You really could. What do we do?
We change the flower. Because, you know, one time if you went back 100 years, you had good flour in those days. Now change the flour. Now it's devoid of all the protein.
There's so little protein in it. There's so little amino acids. There's so little vitamins. You know what they do?
They have to put them back in. So you have enriched bread. The first fast food was store bought bread. Because they changed the flour to mass produce it.
You had these porcelain rollers knocking the stuffing out of the grain. Oh, dang, the man, it's whole grain. No, it ain't. That's the world out there, guys.
Changes the oil, changes the flour, right? Change the sugar. Change the sugar. Change the sugar.
Oh, we're smarter than God. Let's stop the cane sugar. And let's put people on a sugar of fructose that is so addictive. People will come for more and more and more and more.
High fructose corn syrup. And guys, like I said, I was screaming about it. I got a letter because I had a radio show. And I got a letter because I was screaming about high fructose corn syrup.
I mean, this isn't going back here, guys, 30 something years. And I got a letter from the high fructose corn syrup VP. Dear Dr. Mart, Dr.
Mart, quit talking against us. It's so healthy. It's fructose. Nah, it ain't healthy at all.
And guys, it's worse than we thought. Imagine feeding cancer. And this is now mainstream media that pick this up. One sugary drink a day.
Those fruit boxes that parents give to their kids. Okay, let's see here. Do I got time for one more? Let me do this.
I've got the fat out, okay, because okay, we talked about this for a minute. I got my fat in my hand. Not my fat. And we talked about this many a time.
But just to give you a little bit of a recap, because someone was asking me about this yesterday or the day before, okay. What's so bad about fat? Well, it depends. Location, location, location.
You see, guys, when this fat is in your liver, it's very dangerous. And high fructose corn syrup really makes a lot of this fat in your liver. Your liver, which I call the Costco parking lot, okay. I can drive by Costco in about half an hour.
And the parking lot will be full. And I'll go buy it at noon, full. Five, full. Eight o'clock at night, full.
Until they close. And that's what happens inside the liver. When fat gets in there, fructose turns your liver into this fatty liver, which is extremely dangerous. Because what happens in the liver doesn't stay in the liver.
It's not Las Vegas, okay. Because the liver, first of all, your major detox organ is what? Your liver. Right?
It's your liver. I bet you five days a week I get asked this question. Doc, should I do a liver detox? Should I do a body detox?
Yeah. Good idea. Okay, well, what do I do? Quit eating sugar and you'll detox your liver.
Eat steak and you'll detox your liver. Eat an egg, you'll detox your liver. I don't care what supplement you take. People ask me all the time, what about milk, thistle and all the, I like it.
I got no issue with it. But you're never going to out supplement a bad diet. If you're insisting on eating high carb, if you're consuming juices, sodas, you're toxifying your liver because you're filling it with fat. That's right, in a granola bar.
That'll fill your liver with fat. You want to do a detox? Yeah. Okay.
Empty your liver, my friend. And that's what the reset does. So when you don't have high glucose corn syrup, you're emptying your liver and you're doing a detox. Oh, I thought I might have to drink something.
Well, I want you to drink water and coffee. You think I'm just joking about that? This is what someone told me the other day. You say coffee is because you like it.
I said, yeah, but the science shows it. I haven't moved one inch in 50 something years on coffee because it'll help you detox. One of the best things you can do for your liver is drink coffee and water. And what happens in the liver doesn't stay there because the liver doesn't stay there because it will damage your kidneys.
And we talked about that and that's uric acid. Because a lot of people think of uric acid, all they can think of is gout. It's the only thing that comes in their mind. Well, you don't have gout.
Why would you not measure your uric acid? Because Dr. Martin said to get my uric acid levels checked. Why?
Because it's part of metabolic syndrome. It tells me about what's happening in your liver. Besides your triglycerides and your HDL, that'll tell me what's happening in your liver too. Got the memo this morning?
Okay. You don't want that fat in your liver. That's visceral fat. You don't want that.
And it's not fat that gives it to you. You can eat 100 steaks and you're not 100 steaks and you're not going to get fatty liver from eating 100 steaks. You get it from drinking the wrong sugar, the high fructose corn syrup, consuming it, especially drinking it. And it has a major effect on cancer.
Major effect on cancer. And they're finally, finally catching up to this program. And I hate to say I told you so. It's a hello moment.
