Announcer:Β  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:Β  Well, good morning, everyone. And once again, welcome to another live this morning. Thank you for coming on with us. We appreciate it.

Big time and we love you guys and thanks for making this program so successful. It's worth doing every day because of you guys. Now, I want to do a recap. I want to talk about we have been talking about Alzheimer's and I'm going to give you a good recap on this this morning.

We're going to prioritize. Prioritize. Before I do that, I want to give you a little bit of background. We've been talking about it.

Is Alzheimer's preventable? It's our biggest fear. Sure or false? You ask people today.

Okay. The surveys have been done, by the way. Okay. Like, what is your biggest fear?

And for a lot of people, I remember this is years ago. Public speaking. If I had to get in front of a crowd, oh, I think I'd pass out. Okay.

Amazing, isn't it? Like people go, yeah, and like me, I'm a ham. So you don't have to worry about me getting in front of the public. Okay.

That's never been my fear. But I'll tell you, you know what my fear is? Losing my marbles up here. Okay.

That's a fear. No, I don't think about it 24 hours a day. That fear doesn't paralyze me. Some people get paralyzed by fear.

But it doesn't paralyze me. I'm very aware of the threat of dementia. Okay. I'm very aware of Alzheimer's being a form of dementia.

Right? And today, it's in epidemic proportions. Is it because we're living longer? That probably has a little bit to do with it.

But guys, all I can tell you is this. Okay. And I've been in school a long time because I never really left school. Okay.

I'm always reading, always studying, always learning. And kick me off this venue if I stop learning. Okay. But we never talked about Alzheimer's or dementia.

I know we talked about senility, but even then, it's old people, whatever. But now, it is an epidemic today and a lot of it starts very young. Okay. Now, let me give you a little bit of background.

We touched on this, but it's because I read a new study on Alzheimer's yesterday. And they're looking, okay, because medicine, and they usually, I hate to be negative, I mean it. Okay. Medicine does some wonderful things.

Okay. Medicine does some wonderful things. Okay. So don't just say Dr.

Martin hates medicine. I don't. I don't. I don't.

You got a good doctor, give them a high five for me. Okay. You got a doctor that has an open mind, likes to work with you. I think Kevin comes on here and says his doctor works with him, our mayor.

Okay. And if you got a good doctor, give them a high five. The problem is, okay, and I'm going to talk about in generalities, that a vast majority of physicians, they don't keep up with their studies and their reading. Some do, but most don't.

So they're locked in. They got blinders on to anything that is new, unless it comes from the pharmaceutical. You know, I just, by the way, it's one of the reasons I was so frustrated during COVID, because all I could talk about was isolation, a vaccine, and whatever. Nobody talked about the immune system.

The fact that we always will have viruses, it'll be one after another. And I aim at people to get their immune system, take care of yourself. Anyway, so I'm reading a new study yesterday, and it's talking about, there seems to be some promise, okay, with a surgery to prevent Alzheimer's. I got a migraine.

I got a migraine reading. When I get a migraine, you guys know, it's because I hear stupidity. Stupidity. Okay.

You're going to go get an operation to prevent Alzheimer's? And here's what they said, okay? And like I said, we'll go into a little bit of detail on this, but here's what they said. Well, we know that the brain has its own self-cleaning oven.

Now, they didn't say it like that. I say it like that. Okay? Your brain cleans itself.

It needs to because the brain, because it's headquarters and energy center of your body, anytime you make a lot of energy, you got debris. Now, here's medicine. And they've been like this for a long time when it comes to Alzheimer's. I've been reading about medicine's reaction to Alzheimer's for the last 30 years.

Okay? They look at waste products as the cause of Alzheimer's. Tau, T-A-U, proteins, amyloid, plaque. It's all waste.

So the geniuses now say, why don't we help the body's self-cleaning oven? By doing surgery, and we'll make the drainage pipes bigger. I gotta migrate. Okay?

I gotta migrate. Because again, one, they're looking at waste as being the culprit. I tell you it's not. It's energy that's the culprit.

It's not the waste. Now, waste is involved, but we'll talk about that in a second. Okay? So here's medicine.

Because they are shackled to the pharmaceutical industry, they're shackled to it. And billions, not millions, billions have been spent to find meds for Alzheimer's. And that, my friend, has been a colossal, colossal 99.99% failure. It's washed up they haven't found any medication that even moves the needle on Alzheimer's or dementia.

They're looking for love in all the wrong places. Every medication was developed was to get rid of those waste products. The amyloid plaque in the brain, the tau proteins in the brain, let's get rid of waste. Okay?

And it didn't work. It didn't work. I can tell you ahead of time that surgery will not work. Okay?

They tried vaccines. They don't work. They don't work. Okay?

So billions poured into it, no results. And by the way, no one has ever proved, by the way, these tau proteins and amyloid plaque were actually the cause of Alzheimer's. They haven't proved it. And I think they have proved it to some extent.

They proved that it isn't the cause, because they tried everything to lower and get rid of plaque. Okay? And these tau protein. Okay?

Now, they're looking at the smoke. I look at the fire. Okay? I mean, there's debris.

You know, you got to make sure it clears. I agree with that. But where's the debris? What's happening inside that brain that makes the brain shrink?

Okay? It shrinks. And we've gone over this a lot of times. But let me just say, because now I'm going to get to the good news.

Okay? Here's what I've discovered over the years. And I want to prioritize this this morning, because I get asked every day about this. Doc, how do we protect this gray matter up here?

How do we do it? My librarian doesn't work so good anymore. She's on CF stuff. You know, I can't, I'm looking for information in that librarian's not getting me the information quickly.

Have you ever noticed that? In your hypo-campus? Hippo? Hypo?

I don't care a ho. What is called? Hippocampus. All I remember is campus.

The memory center of your brain. That's all I remember. That's all I want you to remember. Two big parts to your brain.

You've got the memory center, hypo-campus, and then you've got your hormone center, your hypothalamus. Okay? Cut the brain. Memory, hormone.

Okay? From your thyroid to your adrenals. All of that is up here. Send signals to your ovaries, ladies, to your thyroid, to your adrenals.

Hypothalamus, hormones, body chemistry, metabolism, hypo-campus, memory. Important, isn't it? Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. Okay?

Again. Okay? So, this is what is really important to prevent. Okay?

We're into prevention big time on this program. Okay? What should you prioritize? Okay?

You and me, ordinary people, have the same concern about our memory. And if you're on this program and you're 30 years old, this is for you too. Because what you do, even now, is going to affect your brain later on. Okay?

Now, the wonderful thing is your brain regenerates. It really does. So, these happen. Okay?

These events are very important. I'm going to start with one because we started this morning on the glymphatic system. Okay? That is your brain self-cleaning oven.

You like that illustration? Okay? Anybody here got a self-cleaning oven? You just put it on and it cleans itself?

Okay? It's important to get rid of that debris. That part of it I got no problem with. You want to detox your brain and your brain does it on its own.

Doc, should I take a detox for my brain? Uh, no. Your brain detoxes itself. But, and this is a big but, you've got to be sleeping.

You've got to be sleeping. So, what should you prioritize? Your sleep. Because if you don't sleep, you don't detox your brain.

Your self-cleaning oven works while you're sleeping. And let me put a little asterisk up here. Don't sedate. Okay?

Like, well, if I have alcohol before I go to bed, I sleep better. Yeah, but you're not detoxing. You take a sleeping pill. Oh, ambient.

You're in the, you know, dreaming and, it sounds so wonderful. I got to take my little sleeping pill because it knocks me out. Yep. And so does anesthetic for surgery.

Okay? I can guarantee you that when you go through surgery and they put you to sleep, your self-cleaning oven ain't working. You're knocked out. Okay?

You're knocked out. You're not sleeping. Your body is not recuperating. It's not resting.

It's not getting into the five stages of sleep that your body needs to function properly. So, your self-cleaning oven prioritizes sleep. Want to see my t-shirt? Send steak, steel, and sleep.

And I mean it. Okay? I mean it. Somebody asked me, they saw my t-shirt the other day.

You mean, son? What are you talking about? Steak? I thought it was no good for you.

Coffee. Who said that? Oh no, that coffee's not on my shirt. Son, steak, steel, and sleep, but coffee should be there because it's in the book.

I have an old chapter on it. So, number one, guys, I don't know, you put these in order. Yeah, look guys, prioritize sleep. Prioritize sleep.

Do everything you can to get a good night's sleep because it's protecting your hypochampus. It's protecting that brain because your self-cleaning oven works at night. Okay? You want to do it detox?

Sleep. And guys, by the way, Anish is showing too, Anish is showing too. You get a 15, 20 minute siesta during the day. Yeah, the self-cleaning oven turns on during that night.

Who knew? I used to have patients a lot, you know, trouble. Like, you know what? When you think 70 to 80 percent of the population don't get a good night's sleep, I mean, what is that going to tell us about our future with Alzheimer's and dementia?

Ooh, scary. Doc, I don't sleep. I heard that a million times in my office. Well, let's help with that.

Okay? Let's help with that. So, prioritize sleep. And Anish showed, okay, one night, one night not sleeping.

You can get about a five percent damage on a PET scan. Okay? PET scans are not for your pets, by the way. P-E-T.

They're for imaging. It's an imaging thing. For you. For me.

They're really a great cancer test, okay? Because they're really made for cancer. Because if you've got cancer and you get into a PET scan, they've got to give you sugar ahead of time and you light up like a Christmas tree wherever you have cancer. That's a PET scan.

Okay? But you can do imaging of the brain with it, too. And they're showing, damn it, just one night missing sleep. The good news is, okay, so I don't want you to leave on a negative spot here.

You can regenerate that. Okay? This is the good news. So, prioritize number one, guys, the detox.

Prioritize it. The sleep, the self-cleaning of it. Number two, again, I'm just doing the orders in which I wrote my notes this morning. Okay?

They're all important. Prioritize food. Prioritize food. Again, do I have to tell you that your brain is headquarters?

What you eat, 25 percent is going to go up to the top to the federal government. It's taxes. It comes right off your paycheck. So, what you eat goes to your brain.

You think it's important? Nobody's told you that. Well, we should know in a way. Like, give kids sugar.

Ask a teacher or ask a parent. Don't give the kids sugar, okay, before bedtime. A teacher say, please don't send sugar to school with these kids. They're hard enough to handle as it is.

And now they're bouncing off the wall. And yet we insist on giving them frosted flakes or fruit loops in the morning. I get a migraine. It's so stupid to feed kids sugar in the morning.

Let's prioritize food. Okay? Again, I bring you back to my t-shirt. State is the best food for your brain.

Why? It's got the five C's. Every week I get asked about creatine. Okay?

Doc said I'd be taking a supplement of creatine. No, eat it. What? Well, a steak's got creatine.

Hamburgers got creatine. The poor man's steak. Eat steak. You know, should I do protein powders?

Why? When you can have a steak. Now, if you like bone broth protein powder, I like that. No, but guys, I'm just telling you, you got to eat, right?

We'll make the right choices. And we talked about this yesterday. If you did nothing else for your brain other than this big point, get rid of sugar. Get rid of your sweet tooth.

Get rid of it. Oh, and I love ice cream. I got to have ice cream every night, Doc. No, you don't.

You're shrinking your brain. No, you don't. Well, it's hard. Oh, I didn't say it wasn't hard.

Any change you make for good, it could be hard. You're going to have to form some habits and change them. You got to cement them, right? It's hard, Doc.

Yeah, you bet your boots is hard. It's harder in this generation than ever because we're surrounded by food. It's like a drug addict being surrounded by fentanyl. You're surrounded by it.

The food companies make people addicts. You think they're crazy? We're eating almost 200 pounds of sugar a year. Like it's mental.

Okay, so prioritize food. If you did nothing else, eat steak and get rid of sugar. Of course, eat eggs because that's choline. It's a grid up here, guys.

It's a grid. And all those little neurons, they're attached. And a choline, a set of choline is really important. You get choline.

Well, you get choline in meat, like steak. But you get a lot of choline when you eat an egg. You got cholesterol in it. Good.

You want cholesterol too. Eat cholesterol. It's good for your brain. Fat head.

Anybody that's new on here today, don't get insulted because I called you a fat head. It's a compliment. I'm saying, hey, become a fat head. They lied to us.

They told us that fat makes you fat. They told us that fat gives you heart attacks. They told us that fat is no good for you. They lied.

They lied. It was never true. And I've always preached it. Eggs, meat, and cheese.

Because that's the truth. That's where the nutrients are. Much more than the plant kingdom. You want to have some plants?

You want to have some fruits and vegetables? I've got no problem with that. But don't you dare live on it for your brain. Don't you dare.

Because your brain is going to shrink like a prune. There's absolutely no B12 in the plant kingdom. If there is, it's for a mouse, not for you. Then there are the facts.

Prioritize sleep. Prioritize food. Prioritize muscle. I'm telling you, the physiology guys of muscle is unreal.

When you work your legs, you're using miracle grow. BDNF up here. When you use your muscles, when you get stronger, you're using miracle grow for your brain. It's amazing to do research on this.

And guys, you know this. Sun, steak, and what's the third one? Steel. Muscle.

Not stealing in a grocery store. S-T-E-L. Steel. Muscle.

Lift something heavy. Get stronger. I don't care. You're 80?

Get stronger than you are. Be stronger today than you were yesterday and tomorrow. Be stronger than you. You can do it.

Just stronger. I don't care if you're Arnold Schwarzenegger or not. That don't impress me. I'll never be that.

I don't care about that. I want to just be stronger because I know that every time I use my muscles, I'm putting miracle grow up here. Never mind what it does for your blood supply and all that. Prioritize muscle.

Prioritize supplements. Prioritize them. You don't have to take 2,000 things, but you better be taking vitamin D if you can't get enough sun. So if you're like 80% of the population or more, now you don't get enough sun.

Sun, you know me. You know me. I've been preaching sun for a long time. You need sun.

And there's nothing like the sun. But if you can't get the sun, then you've got to take vitamin D. Your brain needs it. It elevates your nitric oxide.

There are so many things that happen when sun touches your skin. And there's sun outside and it's sunlight. What that does for your brain. And never mind melatonin.

Okay, because people say, Doc, should I take melatonin? Well, I don't. I don't and I do. I take it because I look in the sun.

I don't look at the sun. I look at the sunlight. And when that hits my eyeball, it goes to my third eye, my pineal gland, and I produce what? Melatonin.

When you sleep in a dark room at night, no lights on. Melatonin. Melatonin. Okay?

I don't want you to take melatonin as a supplement. I don't. Okay? I want you to eat steak, get in the sun.

And look, I got a vast majority of people, vast, vast majority of people because you can actually measure this now. Guys, prioritize supplements of DHA omega-3. Nothing like DHA. There's nothing like it for your brain, guys.

Okay? And eat steak. And if you're eating fish every day, get pre-op. Okay?

I take fish in a capsule every day. Okay. You know, there's more. I wanted to talk about your gut because a supplement for your brain, and maybe we'll do a session on this too, is probiotics to protect your northern border.

Okay? You Americans, okay, listen, I'm going to give you an illustration. You'll understand. You have a northern border between USA and Canada.

You've got a southern border between the USA and Mexico. Right? Well, your body has that. Your body has a southern border, your gut, blood barrier, and your body has a northern border, your blood-brain barrier.

Oh, you've got to keep those border guards. And your border guards are made up of your microbiome, which is your bacteria. Man, the research on microbiome, it's so incredible. And the brain, and the brain, leaky gut, leaky brain.

You don't want no heavy metals in your brain. You don't want yeast in your brain. But we'll talk about that because there's more to it than that. Okay.

I got excited, guys. I couldn't help myself today. Okay? You know what I'm going to ask you to do here today?

Okay? Because I think it's really important. And people don't get this message because they don't hear it if they're not on this program. They just don't.

Share this with them. You're on Facebook this morning? Share it. Share the program.

Just put share and it gets shared. And then the more shares that are there, you know what happens? Facebook shares it. It's called their algorithm.

Don't ask me. I don't know anything more than that. But guys, this is an important program. Share it.

Okay? Tell others, I know you're doing it. We've got over 100,000. How did that happen?

Well, it's you guys. You share it. You do it. Right?

You guys are doing it. We love you dearly. Okay. Friday is what?

Q&A. Maybe you got some questions about this. Ask your questions. We'll answer them Friday.

Who doesn't like Q&A? Talk to you soon.
