TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone. And once again, welcome to another live this morning. Hope you're having a great start to your day. There'll be a little bit of a shortened version this morning, guys. Many people have emailed this week concerning the new study wanting to put children on statin. Do you see the migraine developing? Guys, if you think for one minute that the pharmaceutical companies who made billions and billions of dollars on statin drugs are going to give up that cash cow easily. Look, I told you this before, and this actually came up in parliament in the UK. They actually thought about putting statin drugs in the drinking water. They're so phobic about cholesterol. It's a phobia. It's been around a long time. I don't think I go a day where I don't talk about it. It's craziness.

And again, if statin drugs worked, I'd be the first guy to tell you you need them if they worked. They haven't put a dent in heart disease. Heart disease is still the number one killer in our society in North America, number one on the hit parade. And statin drugs, I haven't even put a dent in. Now, to change the mindset, good luck. But what I've taught you, guys, and what I continue to teach and what I will always teach as far as I'm concerned, cholesterol is not the boogeyman. Cholesterol is not the bad guy. And you learn that in high school biology. You need cholesterol. They found a medication that lowers LDL cholesterol. And when they found that medication, they made cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, the boogeyman. And what I've always said for years and years and years and years, they're looking for love in all the wrong places. Because what really will indicate, which is a much better indication of heart disease is metabolic syndrome. And that is, when you look at your lipid numbers, you want to look at your triglycerides and your HDL cholesterol. It's a teeter totter. When your triglycerides are low, your HDL is up and it's exactly what you want. You don't want the opposite where your triglycerides are high and your HDL cholesterol high density lipoprotein is low. You don't want that. You've got fat balls in your blood vessels. Tri-glyceride.

Guys, you know me. I'm going to repeat it. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Statin drugs should have been fired a long time ago, but I'm not holding my breath. They'll come up and I tell you guys this, they come up with this particle size now of the cholesterol. Well, that's the difference. And that is getting into the weeds in order to keep the cholesterol hoax going. There's my opinion. I'm not couching it. I've never hidden it. Why do you want to lower your cholesterol? I always tell people that. Why? Who told you? Right? So, giving kids statin drugs. Guys, that gives me a double migraine of this insanity that is. Let's teach kids a diet. Let's teach them food. Not propaganda, food. And the reason they want you off animal, one of the reasons, they want you off animal protein. Animal kingdom, eggs, meat, and cheese. Why do they want you off that? Cholesterol is one of the reasons. Well, cholesterol is not found in the plant kingdom. It's only found in the animal kingdom.

Okay, Terry, "ganglion cysts, what are they?" Why, why, why? Well, that's a good reason why. Sometimes it's wear and tear in a certain area on your hands. Like I've seen them with people who knit or sew people that use pliers and they can get a ganglion cyst in their hands. And is it a weakness? I don't know. I might have some theories, but, and let me talk about one of the ganglion cysts that you can get. We call it Dupuytren's contracture. We'll give it the medicine. They'll give it a name like that. And that's what we call a trigger finger. And I used to see that in my office all the time and I'd say to the patient, "Let me see your hand." And I said, "You know what? You need to break that down. You got some fibrous tissue, a ganglion that's formed in the hand and you need to work it out." And that could be from gripping or whatever. And then you get that trigger finger because that tendon has been calcified. But one of the things, and I used to get patients, they were doing it anyways for other issues. I say, "Let's see what happens when you get rid of glycation. When you cut out sugar in your diet, let's just see what happens sometimes to those ganglions." I've seen it work. Not always, but sometimes. Okay? Sometimes. Okay. Thanks for the question. And that was Terry.

Stephanie, just wanted to know why her blood pressure is going higher and higher. She's on the reset. Okay? And I saw your numbers, there not, nah, not too concerned. 134 over 97. Look, I never like anything over 90, but your body's adjusting. You got muscle cramps you're telling us. Well, if you're getting muscle cramps still, you're not getting enough electrolytes. You might want to just pick up an electrolyte and a powder or whatever and put it in your water. Because if you're still getting cramping, well, it's a lack of electrolytes. You say you're taking a little bit of potassium, but not enough. I'm not too worried about your blood pressure because 99.9% of the time, Steph. Here's what happens. You get on the reset, you cut out sugar and your blood pressure goes down. We actually sent out an email last week on blood pressure. If you don't get our emails, we put a lot of information in there. If you're not, sign up for that Steph. Okay? Because we talked about blood pressure and it ain't salt that causes high blood pressure. It's more sugar. But you're cutting that down now, obviously on the reset. Believe you me, things will reset. Give your body a chance. Okay? Thank you, Stephanie. And I'd rather you ask the questions. Don't be shy. We are here for you. Okay? Not only will I answer questions on Friday, our staff guys, we answer questions.

Okay. Brian is asking about a cortisone shot in his hip. Your wife tells you. You listen to your wife, Brian. You hear me? Your wife is smart. She's saying, "It's only a bandaid." Yep. Cortisone. It's amazing. When they discovered cortisone, it is a tremendous anti-inflammatory with a big but. It's an anti-inflammatory and it works. You get a cortisone shot, but there's a big but with it. What's the big but? Well, the big butt is got side effects. And the problem with cortisone is when you inject, if you take prednisone, for example, suppresses your immune system. Big time. Very hard on the adrenals. But cortisone into a joint, it really creates a laxity of your tendons. And that's why you just can't have those things every day. Be leery of it. Now, I'm not saying you should never get a cortisone shot. I'm not going to say that. But I've been around the sun many, many, many a time and I've seen a lot of side effects to cortisone. So your wife is right. Okay? Your wife is right.

And like non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, a lot of people that have pain, they live on Advil and they live on Tylenol and they live on anti-inflammatories. Over the counter, they don't even need a prescription for them, but they can be very dangerous. Your body not meant for that. If you take an Advil once a year or something like that, you got a terrible pain. I'm not saying again. I always give people a plan to succeed, not to fail. You're never going to eat another thing of sugar the rest of your life. Well, okay, good for you. Do it. I'm all for you. But if it's your birthday and you have a little piece of chocolate cake, I ain't going to shoot you for it. I want you to succeed. A lot of people get discouraged. And if I say, "Well, I don't like Advil." I don't. I don't like the side effects. Okay? But you know what I'm saying by that? Okay. You get a cortisone shot if you really need it. I'm not against it, but just understand it's a two-edged sword. Okay? Thank you very much. And that was Brian.

Elliot, whoever that is, a family member, colon cancer. Okay? With digestive enzymes, gutties, I do probiotics. I do the gutties because it's a regenerator. I do bone broth. It's a regenerator of the gut, the lining of the gut and enzymes. Do all of the above. Digestive enzymes. I do. I'm trying to keep my bowel regenerated. Okay? Replace, regenerate, renew. Okay? For the gut. Thank you.

Suzanne. Someone interested in doing the reset, but she had her gallbladder removed seven years ago. Okay? Well, less fatty meat. Okay? I wouldn't have bacon three times a day. If you're on the reset, you can have bacon three times a day. But if you don't have a gallbladder. Now listen, a gallbladder is a reservoir. It doesn't make bile. It's a little pouch for bile. Your liver's the one that makes bile. And the reset is so good for your liver because it empties your liver. It takes out the fat out of your liver. I really like that. Okay? And look, I've had a lot of experience with the reset. Lots, lots, lots, lots, for many, many years now. And the vast majority of people, even without a gallbladder, they start out with low fat, less fat meats, and maybe a little less eggs, maybe a little less cheese, but they find they can tolerate it much more as they go along and they can add fat to their diet once their liver gets used to it and they're producing more bile. Okay?

Anyways, don't discourage her. Tell her that she can do it modified reset in a sense that you're watching the amount of fat to start off with. Okay? That's the answer because that's been my experience. She's taking milk thistle as a supplement. Yeah. The milk thistle doesn't get rid of fat. Okay? Where you want to work on the bile, by the way, is in your stomach and in your bowel. It's one of the reasons I love digestive enzymes. It sort of helps with your pancreatic enzymes, but also with people that don't have a gallbladder. It helps because of the amount of lipase we put in there, it helps digest the fat. So that's what I would do, not so much milk thistle, but a good digestive enzyme. Okay?

Brenda's asking, what spring water system does the doctor use? Well, look, I mean, look, there's a different ones. I love spring water. I tell people that that's the best water. It's nature's water. I don't like distilled water. I see it in a grocery store and I go, "Well, you shouldn't be drinking distilled water." You want to get a machine to filter water? I got no problem with that. The cheapest one probably is Brita. It takes out about 90 something percent of the impurities and toxins. So there's better ones on the market. You can remineralize your water by adding a touch of Himalayan salt to it. That remineralizes the water. It elevates its pH and more of what water should be like. Okay? Let me just make sure I'm answering all that. You know what? I have to look it up, Brenda, like what I recommend. I talked about this the other day, reverse osmosis. You can get that put underneath your sink for water. Some people have refrigerators with water. It's filtered. How much of that is filtered out the toxins? I'd have to look it up. It's a good question.

And let me see. That was Brenda. Marisa, "is eating rabbit and veal are the nutrients as good as eating beef?" No, but they're good. It's meat. Look, there's good, better, best. I always do that guy. Good. Hey, it's meat. Rabbit meat? Good. You like it? I've had it. Did I like it? Nah. I'm a beef guy because they're nothing better than that. Numero uno. More heme iron. But no, they're good. There's nothing wrong with those. Okay? That's Marisa. She has a spur on her right hip. Is there anything to get rid of it? Well, a spur is usually some degeneration. That's what's happening. I'd use a roller and maybe get some treatment, some physio, some massage therapy on it. Are you going to really break away that spur? Maybe not. But you can help yourself. And remember, I'm always big on food too, because food is medicine, guys. And when you cut out your sugar, it's amazing how much better your joints get. It's amazing. Testified by thousands and thousands of people that have done the reset. Thousands, tens of thousands.

Okay. Leaky gut ever go away? Nance. Yes. I've seen it go away. But I'm always like, even if you get rid of leaky gut, which you can, for sure, you can get rid of leaky guy. For a lot of people, because it's been going on for a long time, it takes a long time to do it. But once you do it, you want to completely, like I said, regenerate like bacteria. Your good guys. Renew, regenerate, replenish. I used to be a guy, by the way, when I first started my radio show, used to talk about probiotics. Now you're going back 30 years. I talk about probiotics at least twice a year where you took for a month probiotics, broad spectrum. I always believed in it, guys. But we had a paradigm shift, I don't know, 20 years ago where we said, "You know what? All the research I'm reading, everything I've seen in the clinic, I recommend probiotics every day. Every day, seven days a week, I take them and I believe in them. I've seen the results. I used to test for leaky gut and I seen it. I used to test for fungus and yeast, candida. I've seen it clear it up. I've seen parasites gone. I've seen the regeneration, what it does for the gut, what it does for your immune system, what it does for almost everything. Leaky gut, leaky brain, leaky gut, leaky skin, leaky gut, leaky lungs, leaky gut, leaky sinuses, leaky gut, leaky everything. So I'm big on that. Okay? I'm big on that. So Nance? Yep. Probiotics per life.

Okay guys, I'm cutting this short. We're going to finish up Monday. Tomorrow I'm off. Okay. Doing some traveling. Got to go short today because I got to get going. Anyway, we love you guys and don't be shy, ask your questions. We love this group. We love our audience. Big time. Talk to you soon.
