Announcer: You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good morning everyone. Once again, welcome to another live this morning. Nice to have you on with us this morning. We love when you can join us. Okay, I got a few studies I want to talk about this morning. This is sort of a follow-up to what we talked about yesterday. Let me just do this because we talked about children. We did this study from the University of California in San Francisco. Remember? This was yesterday. We talked about kids. They did 43 kids, obese kids. And what happened in nine days? Nine days of no sugar. 43 kids. Small study. But they were shocked at the results, especially what happened in the liver. And we spent a lot of time on that yesterday. We spent a lot of time on that yesterday.
But let me give you another study that goes along with this. Let me get it. Okay? I'm old-fashioned guys. I write everything out. Okay? I don't have it on the computer. I don't have it. I write it out. Okay? That's me. I love writing. Here's a study in Science Daily. Okay? This is where I read it. Less sugar as a baby in the first a thousand days. So what they did, they analyzed groups of adults and kids. What adults did as kids and how they were fed. But listen to this, okay? This is a study published in Science Daily, the first thousand days of life, so about three years, right? If they were weaned on mummy and water, especially their drinks. Now they looked at food too, but just the kids that consume the least amount of sugar.
Listen to this, okay? Risk of heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular disease in their adult years was 20% lower than kids who had been weaned on sugar and especially sugary drinks. So, apple juice and orange juice and fruit juices. And you know the sugary foods? Look at baby foods and how much sugar is in that stuff. Crazy. Okay? 20%, they looked at them as adults and what they had as kids in their first three years of life. And it made an amazing difference. Now, again, this ought not to be surprising to you and me because we know what sugar does. It's another example of how toxic sugar is. Your body knows it, you know it, but the world doesn't know it. They should know it. All you have to do is study diabetes.
And diabetics are much more susceptible to heart disease, much more, 50% more, 50% more likely to get cancer than the ordinary average population. Diabetics are in trouble. I always said that. I used to tell diabetics, unless you change, this will not end well. Diabetics don't get away with it because their eyes go. Why? Circulation. Their brains go much more susceptible to Alzheimer's. Why? It's type three diabetes. Their brains go. Their limbs go. Their heart goes. Their kidneys go. It doesn't end well. Medication, yeah, I love, oh you know Ozempic. Now they use it for weight loss, but remember it's a diabetic drug. Metformin. But metformin, Ozempic, I don't care what you use. You're a diabetic, this will not end well.
Listen, I'm a people guy. I love my patients. I mean it. You put your trust in me. I loved you for it. I respected that. I respected my patients. I said, "Well, I love you enough to tell you the truth." Okay? Hey, you don't love someone if you don't tell them the truth, right? The truth is, if you're a diabetic, this will not end well. Now, here's the good news. Let's fix this. You got a problem with food. You love food, but it don't love you. Certain foods don't love you. Sugar don't love you. It hates you. It's out to destroy you. Sugar will destroy your blood vessels. That hurts for some people. It hurt them. Like one patient said, "You're so dramatic. You're in my face. You're loud." What? Moi? Me? Little old me? Yeah, I got a loud voice. I admit that. I got a built-in microphone. I'm wearing a microphone. I don't need one. It's built in. Okay?
I just got to tell you, it's the way it was. It's the way it is. I went into how many reservations. That's what they call them in Canada. They invited me because I specialize in metabolic syndrome and diabetes and 80% of their population had trouble with that. They invite me in and I said, "Well, here's a white man that loves you. Now I'm going to tell you the truth. Go back to eating the way you used to eat. Don't eat white man's food. It's full of sugar. And you and sugar don't get along. You just don't. Don't fool yourself. You got genetics that are real bad for that. And by the way, we don't get away with it either. It just takes longer in us. Pale skins. They used to like my sense of humor. But guys, it's just the way it is. Anyway, they look at studies and they go, eat less sugar as a baby and it will affect your adulthood, especially cardiovascular disease. They're not even talking about cancer. I would. Okay. So I wanted to bring that study because it went along with yesterday.
Now, yesterday too, we talked about microplastics. Let me get you the original study because we had time to do two things yesterday. Fruits and veggies and grains, 99% of microplastic intake. I don't know if that's exactly true. All we know is microplastics are everywhere in the water, in the soil, in the air. You can run, but you can't hide from it. And then we talked about keeping your liver clean. And that's why, again, if you cut out sugar, you're going to really help your liver. Big time. Because sugar ends up as fat in your liver. And it gives you fatty liver, thus something that I never saw in the 70s, never even heard of it in the 70s is an epidemic today, like unbelievable amount. And even in children, imagine having the fatty liver as a child. Okay? We looked at that yesterday and four billion pounds a year of pesticides and herbicides. And even in the soil, like these microplastics are used, they're in the mulch even. They're everywhere.
This is an article that I flagged yesterday and it read this. Okay? Can I just give you the headlines? They call it cancer headline. But we call it microplastic toxicity. From the brain to the gut, microplastics are clogging our system. And they blame cancer in this article on microplastic toxicity. That's what they call it. Well, guys, I don't know. Look, I think you've heard me say this many a time, so let me just repeat it. Cancer is complicated. Okay? It's complicated. Because if you go online, you'll read, well, all cancers, this is big and especially in the last few years with ivermectin. They'll tell you that all cancers are parasitical. I was on a TV show years ago, and I mean a lot of years, over 30 years ago, with a pathologist, oncologists who said that all cancers are fungal. They're yeast. Okay? They're yeast-based. Boy, I listened. I never forgot it. I mean, I was there to talk about chronic fatigue syndrome and I heard that and I never forgot it.
Leaky gut. How does yeast get into your system? And why is it so toxic? So you hear parasites, you hear yeast? Well, I don't know if it's just that. Okay? All I know is, okay, let's get rid of those things. By the way, you'll never get rid of all your parasites and you'll never get rid of all your yeast either. You just won't. But I don't care about that so much because what I try and do with patients and what I used to do and what I still do through educational purposes is get you and moi to turn our bodies into a lean, mean fighting machine. Get our immune system to fight. Well, you better fix leaky gut if you want your immune system to fight because you got to stop stuff at the southern border, your blood gut barrier and the northern border, the blood brain barrier. Made up of microbiome.
The greatest frontier in medicine today is the microbiome, right? Even 10, 15 years ago, my patients would see their doctor or whatever it said. Dr. Martin told me to take probiotic. And they'd look at their patient like they had two heads. What? What do you need that for? Even today. What? Leaky gut. What? Not even recognized fully in medical terms. In medicine. Do you think they teach that in medical schools? Nah. No. They don't even teach it. Talk about malpractice. Anywho, they call it cancer. And this article says we call it microclassic toxicity. Okay. But let's just say it's all of the above. Get your body to fight. Keep your liver clean. Fix leaky gut. Put border guards on the southern border and the northern border. Don't let anything come across that don't belong in the brain. And that's why I talk about it all the time about leaky gut and leaky brain. How does mercury get across the blood-brain barrier? How does aluminum get into the brain? Cadmium and how does lead? I mean, why do we see so much Parkinson's today and ALS? Leaky gut. Leaky gut. MS. Leaky gut. Leaky brain. That's me. I've been screaming like John the Baptist. And often in the wilderness, let me tell you that.
Okay. Okay. Let's see. Okay. A peer reviewed study. I'm kind of laughing because I read the background of this study. Finally accepted for publication that took them two and a half years to review it. Boy, oh boy. I chuckle, guys. I chuckle because it's not that it surprises me. It's just that I said, here we are in 2026 and they still fight the truth. They fight it because it's not part of their narrative. Here's what it says. The study. Meat, eggs, fish, and dairy. Okay. Imagine it took them two and a half years to even publish this. I've been telling you this for well, if you follow me on the radio, it's been over 30 years you've been following me. Some people have on the program that are on this morning. My radio days. What does it say? Meat, eggs, and fish and dairy. So eggs, meat and cheese. And when I say meat, I mean fish too. Okay?
Here's what it says. Contain more bioavailable nutrients. You know what bioavailable means? Eh, your body absorbs them. Much better than the plant kingdom. Now guys, little asterisks for all you plant lovers, fruits and vegetables, not grains. Okay? I don't like grains too much. Anywho, fruits and vegetable lovers, you can have some. Okay? After your reset, you can have some. Just don't live on it. Don't live on plants. That's what this study is saying. They looked at it for two and a half years before they even published the results because they didn't like the results. Here's what it says. Contains more bioavailable nutrients. Let's go down the list that they wrote in this study. Protein. Yeah. Amino acids. Yeah. Vegetables have amino acids, but not all of them.
And this is the real important part of the study. You have to read it to really get this. It says they're more bio available than the plant kingdom. Where did you hear that before? Protein. No protein. You don't digest protein. You don't get enough protein. You don't get protein from the right sources. There's plant proteins. Right? There's plant proteins. Are they complete? Nope. They're not. Are they bioavailable like animal protein? Nope. They're not. I know. There's people that don't like that. They didn't like it. I don't know who they are. They just don't like it because it's not their narrative because they still got in their cockhomes up there. Okay? You know what they got up there? They got animal fat. That's cholesterol. Fat makes you fat. Cholesterol clogs your arteries. They still got that in the craw.
More meat, eggs, fish, dairy. That's meat. Okay? More bioavailable protein, better for your muscle, better for your bones, better for your connective tissue, better for your skin, better for collagen, protein, that you absorb. And we sent out an email this morning. If you don't get those emails, please sign up at martinclinic.com. Sign up for the emails because we put a lot of information out there. And this morning we talked about digestive enzymes and why we don't absorb protein as we get older like we used to. And you need digestive enzymes. But anyway, but the best protein is animal protein and it ain't close guys. Omega-3, iron. We talk about that a lot. Zinc. Yep. There's very little zinc in the plant kingdom. Selenium. Your thyroid doesn't work without it. I know everybody talks about iodine, but your thyroid doesn't work without selenium and selenium you get from the animal kingdom. I know Brazilian nuts, I know that, but nothing like the animal kingdom.
When you eat a steak, when you have eggs, when you have dairy, you get selenium and your body takes it in. Calcium. I don't want you to take calcium as a supplement, but I want you to eat your calcium. Why? Because it says so right here. They put right beside calcium, vitamin K2. That brings you calcium to your bones. Takes it out of the bloodstream. B vitamins. Hello. B vitamins. What? B vitamins. Yeah. And I don't have to tell you guys this, especially B12. B12's not found in the plant kingdom. Okay? I'm sorry. It's just not there. I know I heard about B12. Don't worry about it. Yeah, you better worry about it. And vitamin A. Now, I might spend more time on this study. It took them two and a half years. They didn't want to publish it. I was reading the little story behind it. Oh my word.
Okay, guys. Thanks for joining us this morning. We love you dearly. I know I get excited, but I get excited because we have such a good audience. You guys make me excited. Okay. Guys, you guys are unreal. So smart. I love that. My students. So we got some more studies there. I just scratched the surface of the studies I've been looking at. We'll get to some more of the rest of the weekend. You know what Friday is? Q&A Friday, right? And what do we do Friday morning too, by the way? I'm on twice. I'm on at eight o'clock on Friday mornings for a little devotional in our book club. Okay? Rebuild Your Temple. If you got that book, please join our little club. Okay? It's a book club. Okay? And look, folks love it. And you're welcome to come in and join that book club. I come on live there for about 15 minutes on Friday morning. Then I do Q&A Fridays. Okay? So send your questions into info@martinclinic.com. Guys, we love you. Talk to you soon.
