Announcer: You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good afternoon everyone. Once again, welcome to another live this morning, excuse me, this afternoon. I can almost bet I was going to do that. Anyways, good to have you on with us guys. We appreciate you coming on live when you can. And I will finish those questions today that, oh man, we started Friday. Okay, so here we go. Back to the question. Let me get back to the question about vitamin D and MS. Okay, so we talked about it the other day, but I can't remember if I gave you the dosages that I recommend. First of all, one thing about vitamin D much more accurate than B12 blood testing. Okay, so B12, look, the test is a hundred years old. It needs a birthday party and put it to bed, okay? Just because you can have B12 in your blood, but if it's not in your tissue, if it's not at the cellular level, it's not going to do you much good.
But one thing we know about vitamin D, your dehydroxy vitamin D levels, if you get them in your blood, you get a test done, they're quite accurate and you can really dictate at the time the amount of vitamin D that one needs. Okay? So generally I am in the 4 to 8,000 IUs with vitamin K2 a day. As I get older, I take it all the time, even though I love sun, I just don't absorb vitamin D and I know that well, look, my vitamin D levels are good, but I have to supplement to make them good and the sun is the best. Somebody was arguing with me the other day and talking about the vitamin D craze and that I said, well look, I might be crazy, but vitamin D, I just posted again something this afternoon and the importance of vitamin D, but someone with MS, I would absolutely get their vitamin D levels and they're probably going to need 10, 20,000 IUs a day for quite a while to get their vitamin D.
Because with MS it's a factor is vitamin D, there's no doubt about it. And there's plaques in the brain, they got leaky gut. I understand all that too, but they need to get their vitamin D levels up and optimize and the vitamin D test is well worth it. So I just wanted to go back over that with Jackie. Carla is saying she's exhausted all the time and it's been going on for a while and exhausted. So I am saying to you, Carla, without unfortunately not in practice anymore, but I'm just saying to you when you're tired like that all the time and you're doing everything you can and you can't get out of that fatigue, I can just about guarantee you have chronic fatigue syndrome. I've written many a book about that. Okay, chronic fatigue syndrome, the modern woman's curse, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I wrote a book on that.
Here's me. When you can't get your energy levels up. And I tried and I tried and I tried. Look, you got to take a holistic approach to the situation, and Carla, what I would tell you is number one, horror-mones, I guarantee it. A woman exhausted all the time horror-mones, and I can almost guarantee you that your cortisol levels are through the roof. When cortisol is high over a long period of time. Remember, cortisol is on your side until it doesn't get turned off, and if you have stress all the time, it will drain the living life out of you. So cortisol and it's an accelerant on inflammation. Number two, when cortisol is high, it robs progesterone. When it robs progesterone, your estrogen becomes dominant. When estrogen becomes dominant, your thyroid slows to, not a crawl, to a coma. You know why I laugh at that? Because patients used to come in and say to me, Dr. Martin, my metabolism isn't slow, it's in a coma. I used to laugh with them, but they were right.
Because you have to look at Carla all of it. You have to look at the thyroid slowed to a crawl. Your adrenals and adrenal gland exhaustion, estrogen dominance, got to fix all that. Leaky gut guaranteed. Leaky gut guaranteed. I highly recommend the reset. The reset is so helpful because it takes care of your horror-mones and why it does that, because a couple of reasons. One, it lowers your insulin. When you lower insulin, you lower your fat storage, number one. You lower your toxic liver or fatty liver, you empty it. When you empty that, well now your body produces glutathione. Now your body produces better hormones, your T four to T three and your thyroid, it gets sped up. And so you help fix a lot of things. Stay on your supplement, stay on your Navitol, stay on your cortisol, be on the probiotic big time, okay? But you got to look at this holistically and look at, you are in a category five storm.
We actually, I don't even know if it's on the website anymore, the category five storm. Is it there? Somebody help me with that. I'm not even sure. Okay, I'm just reading. Olga has passed away. Okay guys, so we've been praying for Olga for a long time. A dear friend to this program, a dear friend to this program, and I had talked to her a few times. I know that Kevin, our dear mayor Kevin, went out and met with Olga. Anyway, our prayers are out for her for sure. Okay, so thanks. I just saw that. Thanks guys. And I know we have a tight knit community here. We care for each other. And so those of you who have known Olga or at least known her in our group, just getting the news that she passed away, okay, so that was Carla. Carla, thank you very much.
Dave is asking about TGA, which is transient global amnesia and transient means it just comes and goes. And usually when I saw transient global amnesia, Dave, I saw it after severe stress, trauma and sometimes after an infection where your body was just turned upside down. For people that might get that, I think the best thing they could get on would be our cortisol formula. I mean that we got eight different ingredients in there and it's so effective. It's one of our most popular products is the cortisol product and it really helps. If anything would help in transient global amnesia, it would be that. That would be my first one. Okay, thank you for that question, Dave.
Elaine, "can a person get all nutrients from eating fatty meat?" Yeah, you can live on it. I'm not saying you should do it, okay? I'm not saying you should do it, but you could do it and you could very well. I bring you exhibit A is the Inuit people formerly called the Eskimo. And I mean it, you go back into even the 1920s, they were studied. Researchers had a look at these people because they got stuck with them in the Arctic. I guess their expedition lasted a little longer than they thought. And the people that were coming to get them didn't get there on time. They spent a year with the Inuit and they said, man, these are the healthiest people on the planet. They couldn't believe it. And this has been well-documented guys. And what do they eat? Fatty meat. I mean, they're not eating vegetables and fruit. They don't have them. So they're eating blubber, they're eating organ meat and yeah, you can get all your nutrients. You're not deficient really in anything. That's what the beauty is of the animal kingdom. Okay?
And again, guys, I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but I'm not saying that you can't have vegetables and fruit, okay? I don't see that because I want people to succeed. Now listen, I've had patients, cancer patients, for example, I said, you got to be carnivore. You cannot eat anything but eggs, meat and dairy. No carbs. Why? Well, I don't want to fuel your cancer, so no carbs. Can you do it? Yeah, you can do it. You won't be missing anything by the way. Okay? But generally when I talk, I tell people, look, the reset now that's a 30 day program. Some people do it 60 days, some people do it 90 days. Is it good for you? Big time. But when you're back out of the reset, I don't mind you having some fruit. Don't live on it. I used to tell my patients, you like fruit? Yeah, good. Don't live on it and don't drink it. You can eat it, but don't drink it. You want to have some vegetables. Hey, go for it. No problem. You're not going to die from eating vegetables. But what do I want your plate to be primarily comprised of? Eggs, meat and dairy. Why? The best high density nutrition. Can't beat it. Can't beat it. Okay, so that was Elaine.
Deborah, "is your thyroid support product recommended for helping people with both hyper and hypo?" I've given it to both because what's in the thyroid formula. There's no formula like it. Okay, I know I'm tooting my own horn, guys, but you have to understand everything. I always say this because I was in practice for 50 years just about, okay, so what does that mean? Well, I had to get results. If your thyroid wasn't working properly, either hypo or hyper, I needed to balance that out and get it going or decrease. Now, I'm not talking about whether you should be on medication or not without me being in practice without me seeing your blood work and all that. I can only give you some parameters, but generally our thyroid formula, and by the way, because iodine is in it, some people, oh, well if I'm hyperthyroid, I can't have iodine. I never bought that. Now I'm not saying you only have iodine, but when you look at our formula with selenium, very important for the health of the thyroid. Zinc very important for the health of the thyroid. And by the way, where do you get selenium and zinc? In the animal kingdom. Okay, thank you. And that was Deborah.
Sarah, "any advice on female incontinence and prostate men incontinence?" Well, look, you're talking smooth muscle. The bladder in a woman descends because of anatomy. Okay, I am big on knocking down estrogen. Dim it out. Flax seeds, dim it out. Our menopausal formula dim it out. I like when I was in practice, bioidentical progesterone, never estrogen in my humble opinion. Okay, and then for men, well again, block estrogen because men's prostate grows and grows two things. Insulin, estrogen block it cut out the sugars, it helps with the prostate. Big time. But ladies, progesterone bioidentical dim out the estrogen for incontinence. Very good question. That was Sarah.
Okay, "my friend was diagnosed with progressive supra nuclear palsy." Okay, "is there anything in her diet she can do to correct?" Well, look, again, think brain, think high DHA. Your brain is made up of DHA. Think of nerves. Think of B12. Think of inflammation. Think of vitamin D. These things I guarantee she'll be low in. I also, whenever a palsy, whatever, always gut brain connection. Look at leaky gut. Probably fungal, yeast and don't feed the bears. So cut out the sugar. Go very high protein, high quality fat. Thank you. That was Susan.
Deborah, "is vitamin B1 crucial in managing kidney function and congestive heart failure?" Not really. It wouldn't be my go-to for kidney function or kidney failure or congestive heart failure. Not really. I love B vitamins guys. But on this program, you're going to hear this every time. I want you to take B vitamins. So eat steak, separate B12 because it's a finicky vitamin on the best of days. B12 is at finicky very difficult vitamin to absorb on the best of days. That's why you want a B12 sublingual. I love B12 sublingual. And you guys know me, I talk about B12 all the time, but when it comes to the other B, do I not believe in the B vitamins? Yep. But I believe when you eat eggs, meat and cheese, you're getting all your B vitamins and then probably have to supplement with B12. And I've been consistent about that. I talk about steak all the time and I don't talk about, well take B1 or take B3 or take B6 or take a multivitamin. Not that I'm against it, I'm not. But you can eat it. You can eat it. That's why if you can eat it and you don't have to supplement, okay? That's where I come from. Thank you for the question. And that was Deborah.
Okay, I think I'm getting here. Francis, her daughter, 28 years old has a five centimeter ovarian cyst. Okay, go to work. Okay, go to work Francis' daughter, you need to lower your estrogen. Ovarian is always estrogen dominant. You see a cyst on an ovary a hundred percent of the time. Too much estrogen, not enough progesterone. Dim out the estrogen. Two, insulin. Again, it's a growth hormone. Lower insulin, you know what you do? Cut out the carbs, cut out the crappy carbohydrates. A lot more protein, a lot more eggs, meat and cheese. Boy, have you ever heard that somewhere else? Talk about it all the time. Okay, I'd be dimming down that Francis for sure. And you got to get rid of insulin and estrogen big time.
Okay, Marilyn's husband, his blood pressure goes very low in the morning, most mornings and when it happens, is he tired? Lemme see. It makes him tired when it happens. Well, I would suggest, okay, if that happens, he's got trouble with cortisol in my opinion, because cortisol really should elevate your blood pressure. But if it's not balanced properly, it won't elevate the blood pressure enough. You got low blood pressure. Also, I would have him check his B12 levels. Okay, just to make sure Marilyn, but I'm thinking it's cortisol. I'd have him on the cortisol formula.
Okay, CA Burke husband been on the reset since January 12th. He's got diarrhea for two weeks. Okay, something's going on. Okay. He could be detoxing, it could be a die off to some extent, but usually with the reset, the bowel gets a real holiday compared to the heavy fiber, heavy carbed diet. So it's just the opposite of what usually happens. Okay? He got a bacteria in the past and he's had trouble. So now maybe the body is getting rid of that parasite bacteria. Oil of oregano, my friend, probiotics and double 'em up and oil of oregano, big time. Water, coffee, bone broth. Yeah, you're doing it all. I love it. I double up those probiotics go to six a day for a couple of weeks.
Muhammad, "I read stories about getting kidney failure after constantly using vitamin D. True or false?" False. It's false. Look, they make a big thing Mohamed, online, the gurus, physicians, they're scared, skinny of vitamin D and I don't know why. You go out in the sun for 20 minutes, you get 10,000 IUs. If a doctor hears that they would pass out 10,000 IUs, you are going to die. You're going to have toxic, you're going to form calcium stones in your kidneys. I heard that for 48 years. Okay? They didn't know what they're talking about Muhammad. Okay? Proven. Studies have been done six months, 50,000 IUs a day every day, seven days a week. 50,000 IUs. And guess what happened? Nothing. Okay, it's fake news.
Okay, I think I got one more here and we should be done. Maybe two. Max, radiation chemo family member and they just can't take it. I mean, they're so sick and it's amazing. Again, I don't want to go into too much detail, but I just, we've been doing the same thing. Well, listen, I graduated in 1974. That's over 50 years ago, guys. Okay? Nothing's changed. As a matter of fact. Go 10 years before 1974, go to 1964, nothing's changed. Chemo, radiation. Chemo, radiation. And the chemo might be a little bit better than it was, but it's still mustard gas. And look, the results haven't been good, but the treatment continues. What would I do? Well, I'll tell you because I often worked with cancer patients that were taking treatment. High vitamin D, I'd have their vitamin D levels, numbers. I checked all leaky gut. They had leaky gut a hundred percent. They had usually had a huge fungal infection. So probiotics, I had them on their B12 was down to nothing. Their vitamin D was down to nothing and they had leaky gut coming out their ears. And I had 'em on Navitol, I had 'em on curcumin, I had 'em on high DHA. Anyway, listen, it's no fun man, no fun. And she's a diabetic, no fun.
And Liette says, "well Doc, I got a little bit more information for you." Okay? And you were asking, okay, the question is clearer. "Is it possible to manage my thyroid without medication?" What were you taking? And you were on our thyroid formula and you don't have it right now. Is it possible? Well, what I would do for sure is until our product is back in stock, I would be using so iodine and use that few drops either in water or put it right on your skin. You'll absorb it. Yeah, you could probably manage it, see how you're feeling, you know your symptoms.
So, okay, I think, guys, I did it. I did it. Okay, so we love you guys. I think I have at least, am I crazy? Or somewhere around 15 new studies that we're going to talk about this week. Okay. Friday is Q and A already. It'll come back in time. It took me three days to get through all the questions this time. Okay guys, we love you. We'll talk to you soon.
