TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone. Once again, welcome to another live this morning. We sure appreciate you guys coming on when you can, and if you can come on live, we love that. We understand not everybody can. And it's going to be Q&A Monday. Linda's asking, "how many Navitol would I take daily to get rid of high inflammation from arthritis and high blood pressure?" Yes, Navitol is very anti-inflammatory and because it elevates your nitric oxide, it is very good for high blood pressure. A lot of people use it. They find it to be very effective.

Look, here's what I would do, because if you were in my office and I was recommending Navitol, I would probably start you off with a loading dose of maybe four capsules a day for a month. Your first bottle, go higher dose. If you've got symptoms, like Navitol can be used for energy, it's very good because it crosses the blood-brain barrier. It's an internal anti-ager, very powerful antioxidant. So it's good for a lot of things. It's sort of our flagship product. And I used to give a loading dose for people that had symptoms of severe inflammation arthritis, for example, or high blood pressure, loading dose for about a month, then you can go to two capsules a day. Try that out because that was very successful in my practice days.

"Is it harmful to cook with only cast iron frying pans?" Look, I never got too uptight about cast iron frying pans. I really didn't. I think if you've got hemochromatosis with too much iron, maybe, but I never attributed that to cast iron. Maybe folks here on our chat here might make a comment about it, but I don't know. I never got too uptight with cast iron frying pans. I remember as a kid, I don't think my mother had anything but that. So I don't know. Until the Teflon came in and all those others, what's worse? I think the cast iron is good myself. But again, if you got hemochromatosis, which is a very high levels of iron in your body, well, then maybe you would avoid it. But look to the comments here. I don't know. Some people might have some very strong opinions on it. I don't. Okay? I don't have a strong opinion against it, so maybe I'm in the minority, but what's new? I'm often in the minority. Okay. And that was Jan. Thanks, Jan.

Andrea, her mother-in-law just had calcium scraped from her eye two months ago. She had eye problems for years, glaucoma, dry eye, 82 years older, eyes not healing properly. How much DHA? I would do at least four. And I would combine it, Andrea, with your mother-in-law. I would do four a month, four DHA and four Navitol. Again, I talked to you guys, I think just about every Friday and Monday if we do Monday questions. I talk to you often about the eyes and DHA and the eyes with Navitol Pine Bark and combining the two. I proved it to people. I proved it to tens of thousands of patients over the years with their eyes. And your mother-in-law has to be a diabetic. I mean, to have glaucoma, dry eye, and probably some cataracts. Yep. Diabetic, probably. Okay? Even without knowing her, just to get that much trouble with your eyes. Remember, diabetes, sugar, circulation. Think eyes. Think kidneys. Think legs. Diabetics. What do they have trouble with? Yeah. Big time. Circulation. Sugar is toxic. Okay? Toxic. But I've seen some wonderful things happen with the combination of Navitol and high DHA for the eyes. Okay. Thanks for the question. And that was Andrea.

Rhonda, please discuss the amount of cellulose we are consuming through supplements. Look, Rhonda, again, okay? You're getting into a question about ... It's rearranging the chairs on the Titanic, the deck chairs. Now you're getting into weeds on supplements, cellulose. There's so little in there that to me, I've never worried about it. If any supplement has any cellulose in as a filler, because that's what they usually do, it's a filler. Okay? Manufacturing, it's important they have fillers because of the way their machinery works. It's really important to pack up. You can't have a half empty capsule. So if you're having 200 milligrams of a capsule, whatever, you're going to be using a little bit of filler. And like guys, the trace amount that you're getting, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Okay? I really wouldn't. Make sure your supplier, because we use it, veggie caps. And they're very good.

And I've never seen a problem. Roda, like if you're worried about it, I don't know what to tell you about. I just haven't seen ... Look, I talked against cellulose in this fashion, okay? Because you're not a rabbit, nor a cow. And rabbits and cows have enzymes called cellulase to break down cellulose. When you're eating vegetables, you get some cellulose, and we don't have that enzyme. In a capsule as a filler, again, like maybe some folks here have some research or whatever. I've never seen any negative in the trace amounts that are used. So I'm not going to tell you something that I've never seen to be a problem. Okay? Thank you very much. Karen says it's Margie's 70th birthday. You're just a pup, Margie. Okay. That was ... Rhonda. Thanks for the question, Rhonda.

Colleen, Dr. Martin's protocol for multiple myeloma. I have the study on omega-3 DHE destroying tumors. What's the high dose when you have cancer? Well, Colleen, look, I mean, actually it wasn't that high of a dose that destroyed tumors in the study that was done on DHA being like a Trojan horse for a tumor. It gets inside and then because the tumors, okay, cancer ... Okay, let's just go over this real quickly. Cancer cells need fuel. What do they look for? Sugar. Okay? I've taught you that a million times. A tumor, when cancer cells combine, they become a tumor and tumors are usually encapsulated. I wish they'd leave them alone most of the time, but they look for fatty acids and they look for bad ones like Omega-6. Anyway, bad oils. But they'll pick up DHA and the study is showing, there hadn't been a lot of studies, but there is one very interesting study that within, what is it, 12 days or 14 days, the tumor explodes. It's destroyed with DHA. And the doses they used was very small compared to what I recommend, which if someone had cancer, I would have them taking about 10 grams, eight to 10 grams a day of DHA. Okay? Good question. Thank you for it. That was Colleen. Thanks, Colleen. We appreciate you so much.

Jan. Would Dr. Martin comment about the evils of industrial food starch, please? Cornstarch maltodextrin. Well, Jan, I don't like it. You know me and corn starch. I mean, again, corn starch is a fructose. And the problem with fructose, like high fructose corn syrup, the problem with that, it goes directly to the liver. It is responsible mainly for what we see today, which is an onslaught of fatty liver. Okay? So I don't like it. I don't like corn starch. And I don't like high fructose corn syrup. And again, corn. They think it's health. Corn's healthy, Dr. Martin. Yeah, but not when they break it into a fructose, manmade, by the way, and it goes to your liver. In 1980, they changed the soda companies like Pepsi and Coke and all that. They flipped their sugars and it's been an unmitigated disaster ever since. The obesity, the childhood, fatty liver, absolute insanity what the foods companies did to our kids. Adults too, but mostly to kids. So I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't like maltodextrin or whatever. They're just sugars. They break down quickly in your system. And not good for you at all. Try and avoid as much as Placebo. Okay. That was Jan.

Heidi, what is the best dosage of Martin Clinic probiotic? Which is the best, by the way? And I'm biased, but I'm right. Why? Well, because we formulated it and with clinical experience. So what dosage are you asking? Heidi's asking. Someone who became lactose intolerant. Okay. Let me just give you an overarching principle of where I come from. Is there celiac? Of course there is, but it's rare. Is there gluten intolerance? Yes. But that's not the big booboo or the big booboo. Lactose intolerance? Yes, there is. But that's not the big problem. The problem is inside the gut. It's leaky gut. And when you have leaky gut, you become intolerant.

So when I hear lactose intolerant ... and by the way, they pasteurize milk. They denature it. It's different than when it comes straight out of a cow. But hey, what am I going to do? We live in a world. They're never going to get rid of pasteurization. I could scream till the cows come out. Literally. It's not going to change what goes on in our society. So we have to live with that. So I agree. But I used to say in my office to patients, gluten, schmootin. What? You got leaky gut. And Kennedy came out with this the other day. I think he's been saying it for a while, but I heard him say this, that there was no such thing or very rare of gluten intolerance until they started spraying all the vegetables with glyphosate. Right? That's what he said. He said, "Well, it's a direct correlation with the spray." Well, the spray, what does the spray do? Well, the spray gives you leaky gut. It destroys your bacteria. It causes a dysbiosis inside the body.

I've always said that to patients. I said, "Fix your leaky gut." And it's just shocking how many thousands of my patients were able to do dairy again. We're able to tolerate gluten again. No, I'm not big on gluten because ... Well, I'm not big on eating gluten in a way because most everything with gluten in it is a carb that breaks down quickly into sugar. So when you avoid that, you're doing a good thing too, okay? But I just wanted to say that and I appreciate it. Now you ask me a question, then I'm going to get to the answer to it because you said how many probiotics? Well, I would do a higher dose for about a month. I like high dosing for about a month. Sometimes I've had patients on longer, but if you were in my office, if I saw that you had leaky gut, which you do, I would probably have you on a double dose of six probiotics a day for a month to get at the problem. And then I'd have you on bone broth too with L-glutamine so that I could help knit up the digestive tract and even gutties. Anyway, thanks for the question. And that was Heidi. Thanks, Heidi.

Theresa, what is the possible deficiency and supplements for calf cramps? So you're getting leg cramps, no fun under the sun. Well, usually it's dehydration. It can be straight water that you're low in, but usually it's low in electrolyte. So you have magnesium, you have potassium. Those are usually the two that you could be low in. Low in magnesium. Some people, they take magnesium and their cramps go away. Some people take potassium and their cramps go away. You get an electrolyte with sodium and magnesium and potassium, and their cramps go away. So it could be any of those, but you got to drink water too. Like just a lot of people, especially if they're on any kind of medication are dehydrated. Any med is going to dehydrate you. So I like a pinch of Himalayan salt or whatever, but if you're actually getting cramps and you're not going to get enough potassium by eating a banana, by the way, or a navicado. It's not. It's not enough in there. Okay? That was Theresa.

Judy, I have read numerous articles stating that beetroot powder will increase nitric oxide. Yep, it does. It does. Beetroot powder. I think I talked about this the other day, did I answer this? I like what beets do. I don't like the taste of a beet. Some people love that stuff, not me. Anyway, yeah, I like beetroot powder. I do. But here's me, okay? And it's just because I have clinical experience. Beetroot powder is good. Navitol to elevate nitric oxide is better. And you know what else is better than beetroot powder as far as elevating nitric oxide? Vitamin D. The sun. Now, we got the sun out, but it's freezing. So it's time to supplement, but that's just the fact. But I like beetroot powder. Okay? I have it in my top three, but above it, I have Navitol and vitamin D. Okay? Thank you. Good question. I appreciate that. Very, very, very much. And that was Judy. And Judy, you read those things on Navitol. Google pine bark extract, you'll see a lot of studies on nitric oxide.

Okay. Louise is asking the question, what is the difference between sclerosis and multiple sclerosis? Well, sclerosis, here's what the word means. Hardening. Okay? Atherosclerosis, hardening of the arteries. Liver sclerosis, right? Hardening of the liver. But multiple sclerosis is different because it's hardening inside. It creates plaques, hardening plaques in the brain. Usually with MS, four areas, okay? Multiple sclerosis. So sclerosis is hardening. Multiple sclerosis MS is a multiple sclerosing of the brain tissue, usually in four different areas when they do an MRI or whatever to diagnose MS. And you can get a spinal stenosis and sometimes in there you get a little bit of sclerosis in there. Okay? Stenosis means the canal is shrinking. You can actually get a little bit of nerve sclerosis if there's pinching in there and you get scar tissue and hardening.

But multiple sclerosis is a very specific disorder in the brain. And when I saw multiple sclerosis, what did I see that went with it? Almost invariably. When we tested, they were full of heavy metal, full of especially mercury, lead, full of yeast, fungus, candida. They always had leaky gut. Leaky gut, leaky brain, always. I never saw an exception to it. Okay? What else did I see? Leaky gut, leaky brain, usually very low in vitamin D. Usually very low in B12. So that's the difference, Louise. Mercy for the question.

Roxanne, can you tell me why women suffer from bladder leaks? Well, it's anatomy. Men have bladders too. Okay? You can get a bladder leak in a man, but women get it because it's all about anatomy. Okay? So let me just say there's two sexes. There's a man and there's a woman. Okay? Just if you wonder where I'm coming from, okay? And the anatomy is different. And that opening there makes you a woman more susceptible to infection than a man is. He's got a little opening. You have a bigger opening. And here's another thing. Women, because of moisture in around the bladder and the vagina and that. Very susceptible to yeast or fungus. When fungus sits on the lining, if you take an antibiotic, for example, it kills all the friendly bacteria.

So what happens, a yeast forms on the inner lining of the bladder. The bladder will, with that, oftentimes, especially in menopausal years, the bladder will descend because progesterone is very much involved in strengthening smooth muscle, which the bladder is. It's smooth muscle, just like the gallbladder, smooth muscle. You need progesterone for that, ladies. You get into menopause, or you have estrogen dominance, or postpartum, and progesterone goes down, and the smooth muscle gets affected by that. So it all has to do with anatomy. Women are different than men. Okay? I said it. It offends you. Sorry. Okay. I don't want to be controversial, but I shouldn't be controversial, should it? My word. Okay. That was Roxanne. That was a good question, Roxanne. Thank you.

Elaine, okay. We're just about done, I think. Looking for advice on asthma. I don't even know if I did this the other day. What I would add, whenever you have asthma, okay? So always look for too much histamine. I found over the years you eliminate sugar, fix leaky gut, leaky gut, leaky lungs. Get rid of fungus, yeast, don't feed the bears. And I found, okay, for lungs, sinuses, allergies, again, I like combinations. I love quercetin with a Q, quercetin and Navitol. Okay? They're both antihistamines, natural. I love quercetin in the lungs, but I like combining it with pine bark. Okay? Yeah. Lucille was talking the other day about pain in the joints. Yeah, well, you had the hysterectomy, so you get a hysterectomy, okay? And you're going to be in menopause pretty quick. And menopause, for a lot of women, can create horror-mones big time. Okay?

Okay, guys, I think we got it all. If I missed anything, would you please let me know? Couple of announcements. Friday is Q&A. Tomorrow, I think afternoon session, I'll let you know. Okay? I'll let you know. I'll give you a little heads up. Wednesday night, 6:30. Okay. For those of you who are in Rebuild Your Temple, we're going to have a little webinar on Wednesday night at 6:30. Okay? So that's February ... What is it? What's Wednesday? 4th, I think. Okay? 6:30. It's in our private Facebook group. So if you're not part of that and you want to be part of that, then I don't know how to do it. Don't ask me. Okay? Okay, I think those are announcements. In Canada, you can get Sun, Steak and Steel. Still available. Okay? Amazing. Okay, I think we're on about the fifth print of that book. We got to get it into the States. Okay, we love you. Talk to you soon.
