Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone. Once again, welcome to another live this morning. Hope you're having a wonderful start to your day. We appreciate you guys. Big time. Thanks for coming on. We love you dearly. Guys, happy new year. And here we go. We're going over the reasons to do the reset, the metabolic reset, a 30-day program. The reasons to do it. I just want to pump up your tires for those who started on January 1st, those who want to start even today. Guys, I encourage you. I encourage you. If this is your first time, watch the difference. If this is several times for you, that's fine too. Whatever, guys, I really mean it. Okay? The metabolic reset. Now, the other day, what we did is we talked about the real advantage to your liver and we spent the entire time on what happens in the liver.

And guys, the liver gets very little respect. People don't talk about it till it gets damaged or sick. And they should talk about it more because it really has so much to do in your body. You can't live without your liver. What happens in the liver don't stay in the liver. You know how we talk about it. We talk about the Costco parking lot, always full because today your liver was never meant for high fructose corn syrup, guys. And that's the sugar of choice now. It's destroying livers. It's giving it fatty liver, and even kids get fatty liver. The reset fixes that. It empties the liver. Okay? So that's number one. It lowers all markers of inflammation. You know how we spent a lot of time recently on CRP, C-reactive protein, which is made in your liver, by the way. And when your liver's working properly, and when you change fuels, which you'll do on metabolic reset, you'll do it on a metabolic reset.

You empty your liver, you lower inflammation markers. Sugar is very inflammatory. Sugar is toxic. And any foods that break down rapidly create a fire in the body, an inflammation, storm, a cytokine storm. And guys, people have found this out. When you change your diet, you change fuels, you have a lot less debris in your body. Your detoxing is so much easier. So do we like eliminating sugar? Yep. Do we like fixing the liver? Yes. Do we love lowering inflammation? So if you have arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, it will lower your markers of inflammation. It will lower markers of inflammation in the brain too. It's really important. Inflammation is not Houdini. You want to lower all those markers. Okay? It fixes your gut, number three. It really makes a difference in the gut. When you're not eating sugar, your body wasn't made. Your stomach wasn't made to consume that amount of sugar, just not made for that. And what happens when you're eating the wrong foods and you're not eating enough meat, eggs, and dairy, okay, good dairy like butter and cheese. When you don't eat enough of that, your stomach pH changes. You can fix your stomach by changing your diet. We always recommend starting with food. You got to eat anyway. I used to tell my patients this all the time.

You have to eat anyways, right? Yeah. This is not calories. This is not counting. There's none of that on this program. If you do it, you're going to give me a migraine. It's not calories in or calories out. It's nothing to do with that. It's what type of fuel you're eating. When you eat the right fuel, you fix your gut. It makes a big difference. When you cut out the fiber and you're only drinking water and coffee, which is your best fiber. When you cut out all the grains, all the lectins, all the oxalates, all the gluten. When you cut that out, what a difference it makes in your gut. The inflammatory response in your gut, the pH in your stomach, you're not feeding yeast or fungus. We talk about SIFO, small intestine fungal overgrowth, which it really is more than a bacterial overgrowth. You're not feeding it.

Fungus lives on sugars and sugar molecules holding hands. When you have a piece of bread, it breaks down rapidly. They're just sugar molecules holding hands. And I know you're going to hear the other side of this. I know it. I've heard it for 50 years, guys. You need fiber. If you don't get fiber, but you eliminate fiber for 30 days, you'll find out how your gut gets a rest. And it's been overrated and I know why they did it. It started with Dr. Kellogg's under cereal companies and you need fiber. And how many people have oatmeal every day? They spike their blood sugar through the roof. And look, I'm not telling you you can't have fruits and vegetables, but you can't for 30 days. Eliminate those things. Let your body regenerate and recuperate. I'm telling you. Okay. I don't know how many thousands of people with IBS found an enormous difference with the RESA.

It's just resting the gut that doesn't have all that work to do. It's amazing. It's pure fuel, pure octane, 99% when you're eating eggs, meat, and cheese, the way your body is meant to. Okay? So it fixes a lot of times. Again, this is gut related in a way, but acid reflux. People have found that. You cut out the sugars and you change your diet. You change your fuel and acid reflux and all that kind of stuff. Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's. Made a big difference in Crohn's. Of course, I was using probiotics and digestive enzymes too, but still start with fuel. Fixes the kidneys. Okay? So when I talk about detox organs, the number one detox organ you have in your body, it's not your bowel. It's your liver. The number two detox organ in your body, not your bowel. The people, "I want to do a detox, doc.

Let me load up on fiber and clean the gut out. " I said, "Well, okay. You want to go ahead and do that? I'd rather you just drink water and coffee and that'll clean your gut out. " But I said, "You're missing out on your liver because that's your most important detox organ. You're missing out on your kidneys. That's number two on the hip parade. Of detoxification, your kidneys. What do you think your kidneys are there for? Take the toxins out of your body. That's why you have kidneys. And you got two of them. Hallelujah. God gave you two. And protein does not damage kidneys. You've heard that on this program for many, many years. It's not protein that damages kidneys. And I use this as an example. Sugar does. And I can prove it. Ask a diabetic. Who's got the most kidney problems in the world?

Diabetics. Is diabetics because they're eating protein? No, because diabetics are carboholics. You can't be a diabetic without being a carboholic. Okay? I'm not talking about type one. I'm talking about type two sugar diabetes. That's what used to be called, used to be called sugar diabetes. My dad talking to me. "Son, I was in high school. It's sugar diabetes. That's why you're seeing me not eat sugar anymore." Oh, okay. I never forgot that. Your kidneys are not destroyed by protein, guys. I know that's the mantra out there, but that ain't true. It's not true. Oh, we saw protein in the urine. It must be protein. No, you get protein in the urine when you eat too much sugar. And kidneys thrive on eggs, meat, and cheese, and lots of water. You know me, Niagara Falls. Right? All you folks from Niagara Falls? I love you guys.

The kidneys of Canada. Niagara Falls. Water. What damage is it? Sugar. Okay? Just understand that. So now, for 30 days, you're giving your kidneys a regeneration. Your kidneys will give you a high five. And doctors who know nothing about nutrition, I hate to be negative. You might as well go to your plumber to get advice on nutrition. Oh, protein's hard on the kidneys. Nah, it's not. Sugar is. Sugar is. It's destructive to kidneys. Why didn't I invest in dialysis? Okay. I'm not a prophet nor the son of one. But I saw this coming, guys. I talked about it for so many years on my radio show. Kidney problems, kidney problems, kidney problems. Sugar destroys. Kidneys. Regenerate. Do the reset. Cut out the sugars for 30 days and your kidneys will give you high fives. Okay? They'll love you. You got to drink water. Flush out. Okay?

Your immune system's going to get better. You know why I know that? Because of an experiment done ... 2002, I think it was. I'd have to almost look it up where they gave you a can of soda. And you know what happened with a can of soda? Your T-cells, your immune system goes to sleep. It has a siesta. Sugar puts your T-cells, your Navi seals of your immune system to sleep. Sugar destructive dyes. Sugar's destructive even to your immune system. And sugar, by the way, competes with vitamin C, not coffee. The other vitamin C is ascorbic acid. Coffee's the real vitamin C because it's much more powerful than vitamin C. But do you know that sugar competes with vitamin C? Because they look alike. They're like identical twins. And your cells compete for the vitamin C because when you're eating sugar, it looks like that. Sugar molecule and vitamin C molecule are very similar.

It decreases your oxidative stress. That's right. You get less oxidation. You know what oxidation is? Resting out. Cut an apple in half, leave it on your counter. It'll only take about 10 minutes or so, and you'll watch before your eyeballs what we call oxidation or free radical damage. Right before your eyeballs. Oxygen, it's on your side. Right? Yeah, you can't live without it, but it's also going to make sure that you age, that you rust out. Oxidation. Sugar oxidizes. It glycates. Infla aging. You age quickly with sugar. It's like smoking. Very destructive, guys. Sugar's destructive. So you cut it out for 30 days. Holy moly, see what happens. Okay? Oxidative stress helps your skin. Part of that, right? Your collagen's better. Skin, collagen. It's better because sugar is so destructive in the form of glycation too. Okay? And glycation breaks down collagen. Not going to completely eliminate aging. Of course, you can't. I wish you could, but you can't. Okay? But it helps. Okay?

And energy. Mitochondrial regenerate ... Guys, let me tell you something that's your mitochondria. Those are your battery packs within your cells. You know what they run on? I'll tell you what your mitochondria run on. Eggs, meat and cheese. They need B12. Mitochondria, your battery packs. They're looking for vitamin D. They're looking for B12. They're looking for CoQ10. That's why statin drugs are so dangerous because they destroy your CoQ10. You know that. The world starts to know it a little bit. And medicine, they don't even care. I hate to be negative. All they care about is cholesterol. They don't care that when you take a medication to lower cholesterol, it destroys your CoQ10. CoQ10 is needed for your mitochondria, your battery bag. And guess where you got the most battery packs in your body? Your brain and your heart. It destroys it. So when you eat eggs, meat, and cheese, you're providing your body with the B12 it needs.

You're providing your body with the CoQ10 it needs for your mitochondria. You're providing your body with heme iron. Your mitochondria need HEME iron only found in the animal kingdom, especially steak vitamin S. Choline. Your mitochondria needed. Carnitine. Your mitochondria needed. You want to see your energy levels go up? Feed your mitochondria. The plant kingdom, let me just say it, does not feed your mitochondria. I'm not saying they're bad. I'm just saying you're trying to feed your mitochondria? No, you need B12. You need CoQ10. That's not found in the plant kingdom. You need choline not found in the plant kingdom. I'm sorry. It ain't. It elevates your glutathione. Another factor. You know what glutathione is? That's your Velcro. We talked about this when we did the liver the other day. Glutathione is made in your liver. If you don't believe your liver is the number one detox organ in your body, then you don't know anything about glutathione. And glutathione is your master antioxidant. It's a master velcro.

I was reading an article. Let me give it to you. I might talk about it this week a little bit, but I read an article. I got it right here. Microplastics are shredding male arteries. We can't get away from the microplastics that's in our water, soil, and air, guys. It's everywhere. Even in Costa Rica. Okay? I don't care where you try and hide. You can run, but you can't hide from microplastics. It's just part of the world in which you and I live in, accept it. It's not going to change. They're everywhere. You need to take care of you. Prepare your body for battle with the environment in which we live. Guys, I don't care about the climate as much as I care about the environment. The air we breathe. The soil we have. The water we have. And microplastics, and I've been seeing this for years, guys, are everywhere. You can run, but you can't hide. And they're showing very destructive to blood vessels. That's why you got to protect yourself. If you make lots of glutathione, if your liver is empty, you make a lot of glutathione. Those microplastics don't have a chance to destroy your body. How do you make glutathione when your liver is functioning at a high rate when it isn't full of fat? Because fat is an attractor for heavy metals in microplastics. So when you empty that liver, your glutathione goes out.

You detox and your body knows how to get rid of microplastic. Even though they're everywhere, your body says, "Okay, I'm a fighting machine." That's why guys, even through the virus, remember that? Remember the dystopian world that you and I lived in? And I was hammering this home all the time, all the time, all the time. It's flu season, guys. Hello. The sun goes down and flu goes up. Why do you think you have the flu season? Because we don't see the sun. So what do I tell you to do? Take care of yourself. You want to wear a mask? Wear the invisible mask. Put your body in a position to fight. Because if you think there's not a flu season, there's always a flu season. Always. Every year there's a flu season. You think next year there'll be no flu season? Oh, no more flu. No, no. You're going to have it every year.

And you're going to have viruses. You're going to have them whether you like them or not. It's the world in which we live. What are you going to do? Go on an island even then. You can get the flu on an island. Your body. Make it a fighting machine, guys. This is what I've always aimed at. What I've always said. If people ask me, should I take the flu shot? Well, take a natural flu shot. Yeah, I'm not against the flu shot. Take the natural flu shot. Wear your invisible mask, vitamin A. How do you get that steak? Hamburger without the button. Do the reset. Watch your immune system, how it supercharges itself.

Okay? Supercharges itself. And then of course, I love vitamin D guys, you know that. And I love oil of oregano. Guys, you know that. I love that for the immune system. I love the invisible mask of vitamin A, eggs, meat and cheese. That's how you get vitamin A. Vitamin A is not found in the plant kingdom, guys. It's just not there. Better carotene is there, but that's a precursor to vitamin A. It's not pro- retinol A. Okay. We got time for a few more. Okay? So it elevates glutathione. It fixes hormones big time. And there's a reason for it. First of all, we come back to the liver because of the conversion of T4 to T3. I had a lady the other day just saying, "Oh, my metabolism isn't slow. It's into a coma." I would die and laughing. I don't have a slow metabolism.

It's in a coma. I look at food sideways and I gain weight. I was dying because I couldn't help myself from laughing. I had a belly laugh over that one. My metabolism is in a coma. My hair is falling out. I don't feel good. My doctor said my labs are normal. You know what I used to tell patients? I got your back. I said, "You came to the right place. You got horormones and you're at the right place." Because I understand horormones. I don't just focus in on the thyroid. I don't let blood work dictate. I don't let it dictate. It's a tool, but the thyroid, you better look at the whole package. The thyroid is a puppet. Lots of strings attached. Even up in the brain, between the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. You better keep that in the equation. What about your ovaries?

Yeah, estrogen and progesterone, you better put that into the equation when it comes to your thyroid, your adrenals. Cortisol, you better put that into the equation. You better look at all of it, my friend. Because if you don't, you can miss out. This is the problem with medicine today. It's modern medicine is all it is. It's blood just lab. Why do I got to do a full spectrum testing of the thyroid? But I'm telling you, it's been hijacked by the labs. And that's why women, "Hey, doc, my hair's falling out. Hey, doc, my eyebrows are thinning. Hey, doc, I look at food and I gain weight. Hey, doc, I'm exhausted. My skin isn't right. I got your back." That's what I used to tell my patients. "I got your back. "And we get the Kleenex out. Okay? Ask my girls, my staff. The Kleenex came out and nobody was listening before. They didn't listen, Linda. Somebody listened and said," Well, I got it. I understand it. I'll tell you what's going on. You got horror amounts. Let's fix. Now you're going to go home and you're going to eat. ""Oh, I get to eat, doc? Yeah.

What about the diet I'm on? 600 calories." "Well, is it working? ""No." I said, "Well, let's try something different. Let's change fuel." I'm not going to aim at weight loss first. I'm going to aim at balancing your hormones and that's going to make a huge difference, I promise you. Tears coming down the eyes. Here's the Kleenex. I was very sympathetic. I don't know what made me so sympathetic. Well, I was married to a woman. I have three daughters, four granddaughters. Okay. I'm sympathetic. You're a man. How can you be sympathetic? Well, I listen. I listen. Okay. Let's stop there. What else did I want to talk about? Well, maybe we'll do a couple more, but I just wanted to pump your tires, guys. I want to give you the reason we do what we do. And it all had to do with results, my friend. All had to do with results. I mean, if I didn't get any results, who would have came to see me? Anyway. Okay. So we love you guys.

I know I say that, but I mean it. Okay. Now, did you get your book? Rebuild Your Tempo. It is time to rebuild your temple, guys. Now in that, we talk about it physically and spiritually. Okay? You got a soul, guys. Okay? We talk about pumping up your tires physically, but we also want to talk about doing it spiritually. So join us and you can join our private Facebook group. We got a book reading club and I'm going to go in there live, I think Friday mornings and do a little devotional. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do yet, but I'm thinking about it. Okay? Okay guys, we love you. Thanks for coming on with us. We appreciate it. Thanks for saying hello, by the way. We appreciate that so much. Okay? You want to do the reset? Join in and tell everyone, just let people know on the private Facebook group, Martin Clinic private Facebook group. Why? Because we'll bump your tires up. Okay? Nobody said it was easy, but it's worth it. Talk to you soon.
