TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE
Announcer: You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good morning everyone. Once again, welcome to another Live this morning and nice to have you on, and we appreciate you guys. Okay, let's get going. We wrote an email. Oh, by the way, by the way, for those who are watching live, there's the new book Rebuilding Your Temple. I actually have it in my hands, so if you ordered your books, they have been sent out. Okay? And I got mine yesterday. So here's the author and my son of course, too. I talked to Tony Jr. yesterday. He said, dad, I haven't even got a copy of it yet, but here it is, guys, you're going to love this book, okay? It is really good rebuilding your temple so it's available, okay? It's not coming to a theater near you, it's a ride. You'll love that book. I'm telling you, you really will. Okay? So if you haven't got it yet, whether you're in Canada or United States, they've received the books in the US of A, I've heard that yesterday.
And so guys, go for it. Go for it. Makes a great Christmas gift and you will get it to hand out before Christmas. Okay? So let's talk about an email that we sent out last week, okay? And that email said these are 10 habits that guarantee sickness. Okay? So none of this will be new for the vast majority of this audience, but it's good to reinforce these things, isn't it? 10 things that will guarantee sickness if you don't get our emails, just again, go to martin clinic.com and sign up for our emails. Okay? Can we send out a couple of emails a week? It's just adding more information than we already give out. So we do this program every day, five days a week, and give out a lot of information. And a lot of people have told me they saved these emails because it's a good reference.
Somebody asks you, for example about cholesterol, you send them an email that we've written. I mean almost every health topic that you can think of. Sun, steak and steel and the metabolic syndrome and what it means. And in the emails, we go into a fair amount of detail so that you have more information than a lot of times than I can give you on the program. I usually zero in on one topic, anyhoo. I mean, it's just an addition to what we do here. We love giving out information and that's important to us. I know you guys appreciate it, so thank you very much. We love you guys. What would we do without this audience? What would we do? I don't know. We wouldn't have this program. Okay, so let's go over it. Number one, you want to guarantee sickness, treat protein like it's optional, okay?
People don't think too much. I've said this on this program, many a time like most physician don't wait for your physician to recommend food for you, okay? Most of them have no idea and God bless them, but they just don't more, your plumber knows more, but you need protein. It's the building blocks, it's the king. And it's amazing in nature that protein and fat are put together, okay? So when you eat steak, you got protein and lots of it and fat, and you should have lots of it. Like lean meat is not near as good as fatty meat, okay? Meat is good because it's protein, but fatty meat is better. And you combine the two, and this is key, your diet. Listen, I'm not saying you can't have the plant kingdom. I'm not telling you that. Fruits, vegetables, some seeds, nuts. I'm not big on nuts and seeds.
You're not a swirl nor a chipmunk, but you can have some. You want to have flax seeds. You know me, I love flax seeds. But generally what I'm saying to you, okay, what I'm saying to you is this, make protein the king. It's the king of the castle. And carbs are the dirty rascal. I'm not saying all carbs are bad because like I said, you want to have some fruits and vegetables. I don't care. I mean it. People think I'm anti plant kingdom. I'm not an plant kingdom. I just want you to prioritize food and you have to take mainstream education and propaganda is really what it is. And you got to turn it upside down. The food pyramid is upside down. We need so many grains a day. No, you don't. That's not the key to your health. It's the key to you getting sick.
So if you don't protein, if you don't prioritize, you are guaranteeing pretty well that you're going to get sick. That's important. Okay? Number two on the hit parade as far as you want to guarantee that you get sick, stay out of the sun, avoid the sun. Lots of people do. It's amazing to me, okay? It's amazing to me. And guys, it's not like I started on this topic yesterday. Some of you have been following me for 30 years or more. Radio, podcasting, books, consistent. You need the sun. You are a solar panel, okay? Your body, every cell in your body looking for the sun, and especially your immune system, your T cells and your natural killer cells. Boy, there's a lot of stuff on cancer these days on information on getting your body ready to fight cancer. And by the way, guys, there's not one of you watching today, not one of you that is not fighting cancer as we speak.
Your body's always fighting it. Your body makes debris, okay? I mean, you think yourself as a manufacturing plant, you got debris. And part of that debris is cells damaged by oxidation, by glycation, by inflammation. And if your body knows how to get rid of that stuff and literally detox these cells, it's one of the reasons we love autophagy, your self-cleaning oven. But your body ought to be a fighting machine. Not lean meat, but you lean, mean fighting machine, and you can't do it without vitamin D. You can't do it. And I'm looking outside. We got a snowstorm as we speak. Beautiful. I mean, if you like snow, it's beautiful, except that you're not getting no vitamin D if you live anywhere near me. But it's interesting, and I always point this out, the people with some of the lowest levels of vitamin D on average live in Florida and Arizona, that gives me a migraine.
A migraine. You live in Florida. Why would you be low in vitamin D? Why are you scared of the sun? Well, my dermatologist said that came out. I watched it happen guys, when I was a young man. The sun cancer, no, no sun, no cancer, sun don't give you cancer. I mean, I know, but the dermatologist, what did they do? Well, skin cancer, that's the worst thing that could ever happen to you. And I mean, you got to stay out of the sun. They were killing you with that advice. They never thought for one second about the immune system. They never thought that every cell in your body needs the sun. They never thought could. They don't read scared of vitamin D. Just got a new study out here. Vitamin D calculations, okay, I've known this, but this particular scientist said like the craziness of it, vitamin D as a supplement, you're going to get toxic.
You're going to die. You got too much vitamin D. No, you're not. They've never seen a case of it. The side effect of too much vitamin D is calcium in the blood, but they never see it. And I'm not telling you to take 200,000 IUs every day. I'm not, but I could. You guys know me about the hammer. And this time of the year especially, you feel the cold coming on or whatever, hammer it, man. 80% of the population are walking around and they don't even have a clue about vitamin D. I asked the guy yesterday, what's your vitamin D levels? Oh, I don't know. My doctor never orders that and they don't know enough to order it. It would be the number one test that they should do when it comes to prevention of cancer. But they don't do it. They don't understand it. And somebody made a mathematical calculation, whoops, we made a mistake. Whoops. It was like they were in grade school. I made a lot of mistakes in grade school. Math, okay? I didn't like math. I got a grandson who teaches math in high school. I said, well, you didn't get it from this side of the family. My boy, like me, grandpa, okay, sciences, I love that biology and that.
But they made the calculation. This is years ago, guys, they added up wrong. And what they're showing is they were recommending about 200. Listen, guys, when I was in school, you know what they recommended for vitamin D? It was 200 IUs a day. Don't go beyond that. Even in the seventies, you will explode. You're going to get so sick from vitamin D, okay? 200 international units. If you look at the calculation, you know what they should have said? It was just strictly a mathematical error to try and get your vitamin D, dihydroxy 25. That's the blood test to get it to a level that's acceptable. I don't know who the genius was, but they miscalculated. You know what? The real number should have been over 8,500 international units a day to get, and this is not even optimized. Vitamin D, they calculated 200 and then, well, we might've made a mistake and they went to 400.
And then the geniuses in Canada, the geniuses in Canada said, well, maybe we ought to go to a thousand of you. But be careful. Be careful. You might die a thousand I use, that's for a mouse. The safety studies on vitamin D have been done, guys. It's unbelievable. But anyway, don't avoid the sun. Don't avoid the sun. That was number two on the hip rate. I don't know. I called my book Sun Steak and Steel, so I put it number one, it's pretty close to number one. You know me, guys, I've been preaching vitamin D. You got to admit, I'm consistent. I'm consistent. I push back. I can't help it. I can't help it. And Sharon's going in the USA with new B. The law is so different. Sharon, in Canada, you can't give out or recommend more than a thousand IUs. You can't, unless you're in a doctor's office and they give you vitamin D, they should give you shots of vitamin D.
But in the United States it's different. Okay, that's different. You can get more anyway, don't give me a migraine. And guys, you know this. I talk about this all the time. Okay? Like the sun, it's the best way to get vitamin D. Like supplement. Yes, of course I have to. I'm here. Look where I am, okay? But if you don't get the sun, and I don't care if the sun's out in Northern Ontario where I live, good luck with that. In the winter, getting any, your solar panels are not visible, okay? But the sun's still good because it gives you melatonin. Even on 40 below days, 10 habits of guarantee sickness, avoid protein and avoid the sun guarantee you're not going to do well. And like I said, or avoid a supplement, most of us have no choice. We got to take a supplement for nine months of the year.
And even then, okay, and then we had cut out animal-based nutrients. Guys, I emphasize this all the time. So eggs, meat, and cheese. There's a reason for it, guys. It's nutrient dense food. It's just nutrient dense. All your vitamins, all your minerals, all your macros except carbs. You get it all. And I explained this last week, and just for people, because they come back at me all the time because Dr. Martin, you're a little bit kooky. Yeah, I agree with that. Okay, you're a little bit kooky. So what about vitamin C? You mean coffee? No, I mean the other one, if you just eat eggs, meat and cheese, you're going to get scurvy. No, you won't. That I guarantee you won't get scurvy. I brought this to you many, many a time, but when you look at the history of the Inuit, I mean, they don't cut fruit.
They don't have oranges. They might now they get shipped up there, but when they didn't, and this has been very much recorded, their blood work is better than anybody living south of them, and which is everybody? The healthiest tribes are the inu. Well, maybe not today because they get McDonald's. I don't know, do they? But if you get processed foods, okay, my indigenous friends, I used to tell 'em this all the time. I did a lot of work with the First nations and that, okay? Because they loved me. I was kind of funny. I said, you guys, would you go back to eating the way you used to? The white man? We're just trying to kill you. We give you our food. They used to laugh at that. I said, well, we know how to get rid of you, eat our food. And they'd look at me like, is he serious or is he joking?
No. I said, I'm serious. The white man, we know how to kill you guys. Eat our food. Okay? I said, you got to go back to eating the way you used to because 90% of you are diabetic. You were not built to eat the white man's food. Neither is the white man, by the way. Okay? We're not built for that. We're not. We're not built for 200 pounds of sugar a year. Do you think you're built for that? And I would say to my indigenous friends, I said, you weren't built for that. You were built to live off the land, man. And I said, you want to know why you suffer with so much diabetes? You want to know why you're eating white man's food? Anyway, I was very popular with them, but maybe not all of them, but it's true. You weren't meant to eat like that.
Nobody is. Nobody is. Okay, okay? So don't cut out whatever you do. Animal-based products, don't do it. I see so many, I saw so many in my practice, so many vegetarians, so many vegans, and I love them. I love them. I said, you're sincere. Oh, Dr. Martin, anything that's got eyeballs, I can't eat that. I said, you're sincere, aren't you? Oh man, yes. Well, you're sincerely wrong. I'm just going to bring you through nutrition 1 0 1 because you never got the core. You need meat, you need it. Your body would design for it. And you guys know me, I talk about this all the time. I talk about your stomach. If you ever wanted proof that you were built for meat, I start, and I've done this a million times, I start with your stomach. I said, okay, you're not a cow. A cow has for stomach.
They can eat grass, they can eat salad. Well, you're not built for that. You want to have a salad? Go for it, but don't tell me it's the best food in the world. You weren't built for that. Your stomach wasn't built for salad. Your stomach was built for meat. How do I know that? You should have more acidity in your stomach than a lion has. Let's follow a lion for a day and see what they eat. They're not chewing on the branches. They're looking for meat. That's what they eat. And guys, you're built for it. Your stomach was built for it. It's got a pH or it should, when I say lower pH, I mean more acidity than a lion's stomach. You're intestines. See, you're not a cow. You're not a rabbit. You're not even a chimpanzee. They're intestines. They eat plants. Their intestine is almost twice as long as yours is.
You weren't built to live on the plant kingdom. Guys. You just weren't built. And the propaganda that comes in the fiber nonsense, the fiber doctor, it lowers cholesterol. Why do you want to do that? Fiber, if I don't have my oatmeal, you think I'm going to be able to go to the bathroom? I said, do you think you win a prize for having large stools? You think there's a prize involved? You weren't built for that. You really weren't. You were built for meat. You were built for it. You have the enzymes for it. You don't even have the enzymes to break down seal. You don't have cellulase. A rapid does. You don't, don't have four stomachs. That's what it takes to break down grass and a long, long, long, long, long intestine. Anyway, okay. Geez, I'm only a number three, okay?
To be continued, okay? To be. I'm only at number three. I should have known that I was going to get off on rabbit trails, speaking of rabbits, but that's me. Very opinionated. Okay? I ain't changing. Okay? What's Friday Q and A? Send your questions in. We love them, okay? Hey, you don't agree with me? That's all right. I promise you. I promise you. I love you. Anyways, okay. The new book is out. It's actually in my hands. It can be in your hands very quickly Rebuilding Your Temple, in my opinion. Best book that my son and I have ever written. Okay? I mean it. Okay, guys. We love you guys dearly, sincerely, and every other way, okay? Send your questions into info@martinclinic.com if you want to get it on Friday Live Q and A. Okay? Talk to you soon.
