TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone, and once again, welcome to another live this morning. Hope you're having a great start to your day. We appreciate you guys coming on big time. How are you doing? Okay, thanks. My great Martin Clinic, the doctors in podcast family, I repeat it every day. We love you dearly. Now, a couple of announcements. If you live in Canada, the book Rebuilding Your Temple is available and it's part of the Black Friday sale to my American friends Dele. One week next Friday, next Friday, there will be a sale in the US of eight for rebuilding Your temple. Just has to do with delivery and we didn't want to keep our people waiting before the delivery in the United States, so we put it off one week. Okay, so that's just a little bit of announcement we're making. If you're in Canada, what a time to get a great Christmas gift, not only for yourself but for your loved ones, your friends, people that you've been talking to about help and folks, you're going to love the book.

Okay, let's get to the questions here. Doc Martin, this comes from Shelly. How are you, Shelly? Other than water, what is a natural blood thinner? Okay, let me give you a little bit first because you have to understand when you hear general, when the population here is of a blood thinner, so someone's had a stroke, someone has got AFib, they're put on a blood thinner, they're put on a blood thinner like Plavix or others, thins their blood, thins their platelets. Platelets are in your blood to clot your blood, so they thin that out with a boatload of side effects by the way, including internal bleeding, which can be very serious. Okay, so those are blood thinners medicines sense. Okay, you got that? Okay. Now natural thinning of blood is water. There's nothing like water to thin your blood, okay? Now one thing that thins your blood to some extent if you think of it naturally is vitamin K2 and vitamin K2 will take calcium out of your blood and put it where it belongs.

Now in nature, God gave us vitamin K2 in the animal kingdom, eggs, meat, and cheese. Why? Because there's calcium in there when you eat an egg, calcium, everybody knows calcium and dairy, right? Even as a kid, oh yeah, drink your milk. Why calcium? Okay. I remember when I was a little kid, I didn't know much about much, but I knew that oh, you need dairy because of calcium and your bones, right? But you see right in there and built in is vitamin K2. It's in cheese, it's in cream, it's in steak, it's in eggs, okay? It's built right in to take that calcium and put it where it belongs, don't belong in your blood. So you could look at vitamin K2, sort of a blood thinner, but it really isn't designed to thin. Your platelets not going to do that like a medication would.

Another one is nattokinase and nattokinase. It's getting a lot of ink lately. They are proteolytic enzymes and what they do is they can dissolve clots in the body when you actually have built up a clot. Nattokinase, I've used it in the past. Is it really a blood thinner? I guess to some extent it is, but again, you were meant and built for water. There's nothing like it, not in terms of getting your blood moving the river of life. You see your blood is called the river of life. Blood's going to flow and if you're dehydrated and your blood is thick as molasses, you don't want that and the vast majority of people walk around, they have no idea that that's a big problem. Okay, so good question. Much appreciated. I hope I've answered it for you. Okay? Other people have said, well, I've seen doctors do this.

Don't take Omega-3 when you're on a blood thinner, the mechanism of they think is happening. It doesn't happen at all. It's a lubricator of your blood vessels. It doesn't thin your platelets. I don't get it. It's something that I would take if I was on a blood thinner, okay? Anyway, but they say it and especially with blood thinner, they don't want you taking anything, okay? They really don't, but they really misunderstand supplements. Any who, and I can't tell people to take a supplement against their better judgment or whatever. Look, I mean, you got to make a decision in life and I've had so much experience of giving out supplements.

They make a big federal case on how dangerous they are, but they never really see it, but they like to talk about it. Okay, that was Shelly. Thanks shell. Kathy, I would appreciate if Dr. Martin would tell me what blood thinning supplements from the Martin Cognitive that I should stop prior to surgery. See, this is where, thanks Kathy for the question. I get this, boy, I got asked this for the last 50 years because doctors want you to stop everything before chemo stop, before radiation, stop before surgery. Don't take anything. It might interfere. Not that they've ever seen it, not that they've ever seen it. They haven't seen it once, but they like to put out a memo. You're getting surgery, don't take any supplements. It might interfere. It might make your blood thinner. I mean, I guess if I was going into surgery, would I be taking nattokinase for example? Maybe not, but I would certainly be taking probiotics. I certainly would be taking vitamin D. I'd certainly be taking Navitol for repair. I would certainly be taking B12. You know what I mean? I would be taking my high DHA even though they tell you not to take it, but don't say I said it. Thanks Kathleen. I knew there was two of them.

Okay, this is Teresa. Can you please tell me if you have any experience or suggestions of what to doodoo with congested lymph nodes? Okay, Theresa is saying happened overnight between the armpit and the breast. Well, if you have a lymph node that is swollen, I'm not worried about it because that's exactly what should happen. When you think about it, doctors, again, there's two schools, two schools, one lymph nodes. This is how things spread, especially with cancer and breast cancer. They want to check your lymph nodes because if they see any cancer in the lymph nodes, they want to take the lymph nodes out and then there's another school in the minority. By the way, and I've been saying this for 50 years, just about your lymph nodes is where you want cancer. It's your drainage system. Think of it, what are lymph nodes? Your lymphatic system is your sewage system. It's one of the ways your body gets rid of toxins. We talk about it in the brain, your lymphatic system, the self-cleaning oven, your toxins come out in the lymph glands, see cancer there?

My humble opinion, good. I want garbage to go in the garbage. I want cancer cells to go in the garbage and out of the body, but medicine looks at it differently. Who's right? I think I am okay. I know it's controversial, but I mean I didn't like women getting their lymph nodes taken out with breast cancer, but you see, medicine says, well, because it's going to spread to the rest of your body. I don't see that. It's your body's detox system. Your body's working, and again, I understand we've had 50 years in cancer treatment. They haven't done very well.

They go against your body's innate weight of fighting cancer. Okay, so you have a swollen lymph node, you could massage it. Okay, I got no problem. I like a rebounder. Helps to drain the lymphatic system. Okay? One way to do a nice lymphatic drainage in my opinion is a sauna or a sauna or whatever, which way Serpa pronounces it. I say sauna and the fin say sauna, they're good for you. They drain, they detox. Okay, so somebody asked this question too, I think, oh, hold on, I got to look again. Let me just see if I can find that question about, oh, here it is, pt. So hold on. That was Theresa. Now pt, I'm going to answer your question PT, because you're asking a very similar question. Pt, what is Dr. Martin's thoughts on lymphatic drainage treatment? It involves a pulsating machine to get rid of toxins.

Let me know what your views are regarding this. Well, I got no problem with it. The pulsating would probably like a rebounder help to drain the lymphs. I got no problem with it, but guys remember this too, by the way. Okay? This is really important. You can not do a detox unless your liver is working at full capacity. The biggest detox organ is your liver. Number two followed closely by your kidneys so you can do all the lymphatics drainage you want, but if you've got a fatty liver, you ain't detoxing the way you should and that's why I love the reset because it empties the liver so that the liver, when it's empty, it can do its job. It's your number one. It does a lot of things. Your liver, we talk about it all the time, but one of the things it does is it detoxes the body like nobody's business because it's the place where you make glutathione, the Velcro to attach itself to the toxins and then sends it into the lymphatic system for drainage. Okay? That's important. Okay, thanks for the question. And that was PT Rita is asking about eggs. Okay, how do I make them? Rita is saying, okay, any way you like runny. Beautiful, okay, hard boiled, beautiful, soft boiled, beautiful. Enjoy eggs, get cracking.

They're so good for you. I read a study this week about six eggs a week. I think it was given to kids and the cognitive measurements are incredible benefits to eggs. And guys, you want to protect your brain. One of the ways of protecting your brain is eggs. Why? Choline? Big source of choline. Can't get choline in the plant Kingdom. Eat eggs. They're good for you any way you like them, okay? Any way you like them. Good scrambled, hard boiled, they're really good for you. Get your kids on eggs, guys. Get your grandchildren on eggs. I watched my little great-grandson the other day having a hard boiled egg. He loves 'em and he's three years old and it's a treat for him. And I kept thinking, man, oh man, that is so good. So good for that little guy, those hard boiled eggs. I don't remember if I liked hard.

I always liked eggs. I just can't remember if I liked hard boiled eggs when I was that young. I sure love them now. Okay, good question. Thank you for it. We appreciate it. Big time. Thanks Rita. Deborah, is there any way to reverse moderate cataracts in both eyes? I take Navitol D chain probiotic. Well de listen always possible. Cut out the sugar too because sugar causes glycation and we talked about this week glycation, okay, it's caramelization and it affects blood supply like nobody's business and sugar glycation your body, including your eyes. So protect your eyes by avoiding sugar. Nothing better for your eyes over the years. Nothing. No supplement can even touch close to the combination. I've proven this to patients with macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and yada yada yada with measurement from ophthalmologists and optometrists and sometimes so dramatic. They just couldn't believe it. The combination. And I tell you, it's better than any supplement on the market. Put the two together, DHA for your eyes with Navitol. Now you're already doing that, Debra, so continue. And you're doing probiotics too. Your eyes. It's blood supply. Protect the blood supply. Sugar out. Sugar out. And the bad oils too, because they cause inflammation. Damage the eyes, oxidation, they damage the eyes glycation, they damage the eyes.

That's what I liked, Deb. Okay, you're doing it. Keep doing it. I've seen it regenerated. I mean it, not always, but major improvement. Mary, my son has a schizoaffective disorder and severe bipolar, okay, 22 years old. Takes a lot of heavy antipsychotic meds and those are very powerful minutes. But here's me, Mary, okay, here's me. If your son was in my clinic in my clinic days, gee, that seems like a long time in my clinic days, and I've seen this on lots of heavy anti-psychotics either for epilepsy, severe bipolar, schizophrenia. I did all of these things above and generally what I did, Mary, very important in my practice, I looked for deficiencies. I look at biomarkers and here's what I found generally, generally always exceptions, but generally, here's what I found and here's where I was aiming, fixing the deficiencies. They usually severe leaky gut with a major fungus up in the brain. Don't feed the bears, fix the leaky gut. Probiotics. Very, very important. Leaky gut, leaky brain. Okay, numero uno, high DHA. Why? The brain is made up of DHA. It's a fatty brain and usually in psychotic severe problems, the brain shrinks. Let me see, you might've even told me this, Mary. Okay, an MRI and a CT scan showed his brain has shrunk. Yeah, you know where size matters, guys? Brain.

Love your brain, love your brain, protect your brain. It's made up of cholesterol, fat. Don't be saturated stupid. The world is saturated stupid. What do I mean by that? Well, saturated fat is bad for you. That's why they want you not to eat meat. That's why they want you not to have an egg or limit your eggs. They don't want you to eat bacon. It's so stupid. That's saturated, stupid. Don't be saturated stupid. Have a lot of saturated fat. Your brain needs it. So this is what I found. They were very low. The brain is shrinking. That's what happens in dementia. The brain shrinks. It's surrounded usually by the bad fuel, which is glucose. I'm not saying you can't have any glucose in your brain. I'm just saying you can't swim in it. Your brain loves fat. Your brain loves burning ketones. If you could get your son to go on a ketotic diet, not easy, very high fat eggs, meat and cheese and almost no carbs.

You could have a few fruits and vegetables, but very few and burn keto. So good for the brain and they're usually, here's another thing, leaky gut, they're low in fat. DHA, they were low in B12. They were low in vitamin D, almost invariably. So for me, that's what I used to do. I build a foundation for these patients and I said, you've got to get these things maximized and optimized. And it was amazing when they complied and fixed their deficiencies, how much better they got wasn't easy. I didn't say it was easy, but I used to coach. I was a tire pumper. I get a young man or a young woman that was really messed up psychologically and the brain chemistry was all out of wacko and I used to be a tire pumper. I'm going to pump your tires to continue to keep on trucking to keep going and vitamin E exercise, you have no idea how good that is for you.

Get into a habit even when you don't feel like doing it, you exercise, move, get strong. I was a tire pumper and every month I will see you every four to six weeks and we're going to go over everything and I'm going to look at your biomarkers and we're going to make sure that your DHA levels are going up, your B12 levels are going up, your vitamin D levels are going up, your leaky gut is going down, your fungus is starting to die out. That was my practice. That's what I like to do. And I was adamant, tried to be persuasive. I said, well, you tried the other things. You're on all those meds, okay? I'm not telling you to come off the meds. I said, let's build this foundation up. Let's start right at the bottom and fix the things that we see you have are deficient in.

Let's fix that and we'll worry about the medication after. Let's not start by getting rid of all your meds. Let's start by building your body up, building your immune system up, getting rid of the toxins in your body. Let's do a complete detox. And when you empty the liver, start drinking water. Start drinking coffee. What? Yep, no more juices. I'll let you have Dr. Martin's perfect smoothie if you want full of cream and fat. Okay, thanks for the question. That was Mary. We appreciate you, Mary. Big time. And your son too. Okay, Shelly, what foods are best when building muscle at the gym? I've been told to eat protein, good fats and complex carbs. Well, you've been told wrong.

That's a dietician complex. Carbs. You know what complex carbs means? There are sugar molecules holding hands that's complex like pasta and noodle. You don't need that. Am I saying you're never going to have it? No, I'm not saying that. Okay. I'm not saying you're never going to have, I never going to have pasta again, but you don't need it. I married an Italian girl tomorrow 53 years ago. Okay? I married an Italian stallion, but I don't eat a lot of noodles. I eat the meat, my wife's sauce. You want to die for that stuff? And I mean it. It's really important. Okay? Like protein is the king, eggs, meat and cheese complex. Carbs are overrated. Let me tell you. They're just sugar molecules holding hands. They're having a love fest. That's what noodles are. That's what bread is. Almost all breads sourdough a little bit better for sure, but come on, someone telling you need that to build muscle.

Have a hundred eggs, have a steak that's better for you. Okay? And I ain't giving you a number because people try and pin me down on how many grams, Dr. Martin, I don't care. I don't care. You can't pin me on calories. I don't care. And you can't pin me on grams. How many grams of carbs? I don't know and I don't care. Eat eggs, meat and cheese. Okay, that was Shelly and Pauline, what is good for long COVID and fibromyalgia? Pauline, I'm glad you get the immune system firing on all cylinders. Start with the diet cut out sugar. Why? Because sugar puts your white blood cells on a siesta. They're sleeping. That's proven by the way. Okay, so someone that's dealing with a long COVID, their immune system needs to be put up to snuff. How do you do that? Start with food and then supplement. I almost their vitamin D levels are not optimized. I can almost guarantee that their B12 is not optimized.

Okay, Joanne is asking, let me just see here. You know what guys? We're going to have to do two sessions here it looks like. Here's what Joanne says. Dr. Martin, you say eggs, meat and cheese. I say it every day. EMC, egg, meat and cheese, eggs, meat and cheese, eggs, meat and cheese. Right? Now, here's a good question. All types of cheese good for you are just certain types all, I don't necessarily mean craft slices, but guys, here's the way I operate. Okay? You've heard this before, but I got to do it again. There's good, there's better, and there's best. So you're starting the reset. It's a big change. Dr. Martin told you to eat eggs, meat, and cheese. 30 days. There's good cheese because it's good. There's better cheese and there's the best cheese, the old aged, but cheese is good. Cheese is better than a chocolate bar on every day. Cheese is better than a granola bar every day. So enjoy.

Another thing that I say, okay, I say this a lot when you're on the Titanic, don't worry about the deck chairs, don't worry about the furniture. Not yet. You can do it after, but don't worry about that right away, okay? Don't worry about the deck chairs. You're on the Titanic. You got insulin resistance. You're part of 93% of the population that have trouble with insulin and you're cutting out sugar and you're going to get 20 high fives from me. But don't worry the type of cheese right away, I'm not saying that there's not better and best cheeses, but I'm saying that all cheese is better than what you used to eat. Okay? It's so understand where I'm getting at now. Okay, so good, better, best. I used to do this with my patients all the time. Good, better. Well, what about this doc? Good. Is there something better? Yeah, probably. But you're onto a good start. You're cutting out the carbs, you're cutting out the sugars. Hallelujah.

Because somebody asked me the other day, and I heard this a million times in my office. Well, I went and got bacon at the grocery store doc, and it had one gram of sugar in the bacon. Well, don't throw it out. There's better on bacon. There is. It's got nothing in it. Dr. Martin, how about nitrates? What about 'em? That's celery powder. Why is that bad for you? Okay, it's a preservative. It's a natural preservative. Why is that bad for you? Is it better not having it? Well, maybe I just didn't want people to get into the weeds. I didn't want people rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Lord, don't worry about that right now. Just do what I tell you. Eat eggs, meat, and cheese for 30 days and see what happens. That was me guys. I always used to say there's too in the office.

So let me close with this. I'm going to give you a plan to succeed, not to fail. A plan to fail is like if you get away and everything's not organic and you know what I mean? If you don't stick in this little narrow pathway, you're a failure. Nah, I never used to do that with people. I wanted them to succeed. I said get the big picture first and then you can get into details later as you get educated, as you learn to read labels and this and that, there's always good, better and best. And if you can afford fully organic and you've got a cow in the backyard and munching on grass and you're drinking that cow melt, okay, good for you. The rest of us, we got to live in the modern world in which we live. We don't all have a cow in the backyard and chickens running around our yard. Okay? You got chickens running around your yard? Good for you.

Okay guys, we love you dearly, sincerely, big time. The book you live in Canada, the book is ready. Okay? Rebuilding Your Temple, you're going to love it. What a gift. You don't even have to worry about Christmas this year. You know what to give them. Okay? You know what to do. Take all the drama out. What should I give my sister giver Rebuilding your temple. What a gift. Okay? And for my American friends, we love you. The book was shipped out of Canada into the US of a, it is coming next Friday, a week later. We just have to let it get to the states and that's important. Okay? So we didn't want to put it for sale. And then if you're ordering other product, then you would sit and wait till the books came in. We didn't want that. So there'll be a sale in the USA next Friday. This is what I'm told from above. Oh, okay. Okay guys, we love you. We'll talk to you soon.
