Dr. Martin answers questions sent in by our listeners in today's episode.

TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning, everyone. Once again, welcome to another live this morning. Hope you're having a great start to your day. Nice to have you on. We appreciate it. Thank you so much for being so faithful, you guys. We love you dearly. Thank you for participating and thank you, especially when you ask questions for Q and A Friday and Q and A Monday. And guys just, I'll make an announcement afterwards, but our new book is coming, Rebuilding Your Temple, okay? You want to get in line to get that book. You know what, guys? I'm saying this. I tooting our horn, but let me tell you this, okay? We've had people read this book and they love it, and that's why you want to sign up. And what a perfect Christmas gift to give, okay? Because sometimes, what am I going to give? So, but how about giving them the gift of help, spiritually, physically, okay? You're going to love it. Easy to read, really enjoyable. Again, the new book coming out soon, Rebuilding Your Temple.

Okay, let's get to some questions. Bernice is asking a question, "does taking your probiotics enough to control worms or parasites in the human body? Or what do you suggest?" Yes, they do. Okay, now, I'm a big guy in combining, if you think you have parasites and if you have a cat, you got parasites. If your animal licks you, jumps on your bed, you got parasites. Now, they're not going to kill you. Now, there's a lot of stuff talking about parasites being the cause of all cancers, and that's why they're talking about treatment like ivermectin for cancer. And guys, by the way, I'm not against that at all, but assume you have parasites. Well, that's one of the reasons I am so big on taking probiotics on a daily basis.

I'm big on that, especially broad spectrum. There are certain strains like L reuteri, L rhamnosus, famous for getting rid of parasites, getting rid of heavy metals, binding themselves to heavy metals. Great detoxer and I always combine one of the most powerful antiparasitic substances known to man. You know what that is? Oil of oregano. So have you ever heard of it before? Oil of oregano? You haven't? Well, the only reason you haven't is because you haven't been listening to The Doctor Is In podcast. Because for 20 years before I even started podcasting, I did a radio show and I was talking about oil of oregano. I don't think I ever wrote a book out of my 24, 25 or whatever number we're at now that I didn't talk about oil of oregano. Antifungal, antibiotic, natural, antiparasitic and that don't kill your good guys. It doesn't kill your good guys. Nature's powerful antiparasitic, antiviral too.

Someone was asking last night, I think I thought I saw it on our private Facebook group. I'm catching a cold. Dr. Martin, what do you suggest? Do the vitamin D hammer three days in a row of 50,000 IUs for three days. Oil of oregano, three or four times a day back of the throat. Take it straight up. You can brush your teeth with it too, which is good for your teeth because it don't kill your flora. It doesn't kill your friendly bacteria in your mouth. It goes after the bad guys. You're catching a cold, big. You know, a lot of people, when I was in school in the seventies, and we had some of the best professors, I'm telling you in nutrition for those days, I think of a guy that used to teach nutrition and supplementation, Dr. Leung. Oh man, that guy was such a genius. Light years ahead of his time, light years ahead of his time. I loved that guy, okay? He was so smart.

And he talked about vitamin C at the first sign of a cold and hammering with vitamin C, and he only missed out on one letter in the alphabet, just like Linus Pauling, who won a Nobel Prize in medicine for his work on vitamin C. And I always said, well, he only missed my one letter because C is good, vitamin D is better. And look, and I'm not against vitamin C. You know the real vitamin C at the Martin Clinic is what? Because it's more powerful than vitamin C, coffee. A new study out this week even one cup of coffee a day. Now, that's not enough in my opinion. Okay? Why stop at one? No, but seriously, guys, even one cup of coffee a day helps in heart disease. Another study, I was going to talk about it later this week, but I, oh, anyway, maybe we will bring it out again.

And guys, you know me, I talk about, but again, Linus Pauling talked about vitamin C. You got a cold? Take vitamin C. Yeah, take vitamin D even better for your immune system because your T cells and for cancer, your natural killer cells, they have antennas. They are battery charged and they're looking for the sun, vitamin D. Got it? Okay, you guys know that. I'm just reemphasizing it. Okay? So, the question about parasites, yes. The best formula is probiotics with oil of oregano. Okay, I love it. That was Bernice.

Lise is asking, "what brand of coconut milk, Dr. Martin, do you use?" I can't remember. Okay, it's been a while since I used coconut milk. Although you can use coconut milk in Dr. Martin's perfect smoothie. So I suggest Lise that you look at the scroll, because one thing about our beautiful audience is they're very smart and they're going to tell you what's the best coconut milk on the market. Look at our scroll. I can't even remember. I can't remember. I always look like no sugar, nothing added, pure coconut milk, but I don't remember the brand name. I'm a senior. What do you expect? I use that card every day. Every day I pull that card out. Okay, thank you very much, Lise. We appreciate it.

Andrea's asking about, "is there any way to shrink a lipoma?" Where do you have your lipoma, on the front of my neck. I don't know. I don't want to tell you. This is a foolproof Andrea, that lipomas. Sometimes you have to get them surgically removed. It's just a fat ball encapsulated. I don't know how to get rid of them, to be honest with you. I'd rub oil of oregano on them for sure, because a lot of times they can be viral. I don't know. Probiotics internally. I don't, to be honest, your guess is as good as mine when it comes to, I mean, actually getting rid of lipomas. I don't know, Andrea, I got to answer that. There's some things know, I mean, you could Google it and see if there's anything there naturally. I don't know. I can't think of anything. But off the top of my head, again, go to the scroll because maybe somebody's had some real good experience on that, not me.

Anita, "how would you diagnose Parkinson's?" Well, usually MRI. Parkinson's, they have certain changes in the brain. Probably the best test is an MRI for the brain. It was interesting because your doctor said eight skin biopsies to confirm Parkinson's. You know what, Anita? I can't say that I've ever heard that before, but I'm not saying it's not true. Of course, it must be true. I'm not sure if I've ever heard that. And Parkinson's, here's what I know about Parkinson's. Okay, here's what I know about Parkinson's, because whenever I saw Parkinson's patient, I always, always, well, I did it for every patient was looking for deficiency. Here's what I saw consistently in Parkinson's. Presence of heavy metal, usually mercury could have been lead, could have been cadmium, but I used to test them for that. I used to do a urine analysis for heavy metals and Parkinson's patients always, I can't think of any exception over the years, they were loaded with heavy metal.

Two, a Parkinson's patient always had severe leaky gut with yeast or fungus. Now that fungus would travel up into the brain, leaky gut, leaky brain leading to possibly neurodegenerative changes. The other thing that I found almost invariably, they were insulin resistant, so them and sugar didn't get along. That's what I found. Vitamin deficiency B12, almost invariably, that's a neurological vitamin. Vitamin D deficient, never optimized. Those were the things, magnesium, they were low in magnesium almost invariably. So I used to look at deficiencies. I looked at leaky gut, leaky gut, leaky brain, the gut brain connection. Heavy metals. Again, how do heavy metals get up into the brain? Yeast, fungus, it's a transporter. So that would've started in the gut. We're all surrounded by heavy metals guys. You think you're going to get away from heavy metals and microplastics and all that? Good luck. You'd have to leave the planet. So those are things that I would see. Hey, you know what? I got to look up the skin biopsy. I learned something new every day. Okay, you guys keep me on my toes. That was Anita.

Judy, "what is NAD? Should we take it?" Well, NAD is, it sort of got, its, I don't know. Was it a year or two ago or maybe a little bit more. I always talk about certain things, get their day in the sun. Do you know what I mean by that? Well, what happens is something becomes very popular. Of course, I've been around a long time, even before the days of the internet and that something would become popular. Everybody and their dog was talking about it. And of course that would always land in my lap because they were always trying to get me, when I had my radio show in my radio show days to comment on something new that cured everything from pimples on your nose to warts on your toes. A lot of times. Look, a lot of these products are very good, and they are marketing NAD now, especially for anti-aging. Okay? So you can get in a supplement if you go on Amazon or whatever, and NAD and NAD, it sort of had its moment in the sun. Maybe a year ago.

I was reading all about it, and this is the greatest thing that ever was invented. And to me, I'm not against it. I like NAD, but I want you to eat NAD. What? Well, it's a co-enzyme, okay? At the cellular level, NAD, your body makes it, but what builds it up in the body? Eggs, meat, and cheese, especially steak. Okay? So I always tell people, look, there's some things I want you to supplement with, and there's some things I want you to eat, okay? Like people ask me every day, I mean it guys every day. Well, Dr. Martin, what about vitamin K2? Well, look, we added it to our vitamin D, but generally God gave it to you in nature. How do you get vitamin K2? How do you get it? Eating eggs, meat and cheese. Because vitamin K2, unlike K1, is found in the animal kingdom, so eat it. So when you're having calcium, dairy has a lot of calcium. True or false? True. Yeah.

But why dairy is so good for you, besides the fact that it has calcium, but just having calcium without vitamin K2, that's not good. You want K2 to take the calcium and put it where it belongs. So there's a lot of things I would rather you eat. I want you, for example, to eat omega-3. You guys know that? Do I like fish? Do I like grass fed beef? Yes. The only reason I talk more about supplementing is because I want you to supplement, at least I think you should with the DHA part of it. Why? Your brain. Today we got so much trouble with the lack of that DHA omega-3. You see what I'm getting at? Look, you cannot out supplement a bad diet. I'm going to eat whatever I want and I'm just going to take supplements. Don't do that to yourself. I know you guys don't, but the world takes supplements and then they don't eat properly, or they're vegetarians or vegans. Well, then you better supplement. But you can't out supplement a bad diet, guys. You just can't. Okay, very, very good question. That was Judy. And should you take NAD? No, eat it.

Okay, Lorna. Hi, Lorna. Asking about cortisol in the cortisol formula. Okay, "should I stay on it or should I go off and on?" Well, that's up to you. I take cortisol formula every day. We live in a world of high stress. Okay? So I'm reading, what is it? 30, 40% of young people are on some form of antidepressant, Prozac, or medication like that. What a world do we live in? It's so different today compared to what it used to be. At one time. You know, when you think of your adrenals and cortisol, you have your hypothalamus, two areas of the brain. Teaching, teaching, teaching, teaching. You guys know this, but not everybody knows it because we always got a lot of new people every day on our program. You got two areas of your brain, your hypocampus, memory. Hypothalamus, hormones, and sometimes horror-mones, okay?

So when you were chased by a bear, you're getting chased by a bear, or you're out on a dark night and you're. It's dark and there's somebody walking behind you, and now your body's going into action and it can save your life, the fight or flight. And so the hypothalamus to the pituitary secreting cortisol. Cortisol, okay? So that's your parasympathetic, and you're sympathetic is secreting adrenaline. Ooh. Now I'm going to really fight or run a hundred miles an hour or fight. But today, in the world in which you and I live, this stuff don't get turned off. So when you are feeling angry, irritable, overwhelmed, family dynamics, okay, you're hurting, you're sad. Well, cortisol don't get turned off. And it wasn't meant to be like that. It's meant to be temporary. It's a temporary hormone. It's not meant to be burned at a hundred percent all day long, but a lot of people are under that.

So that has a major effect on the body because one of the things that happens, okay, when cortisol, your blood pressure goes up, your blood sugar goes up, it's just part of that, but you don't want that all day long. And then you have an inflammatory response because your body releases all these cytokines and it's an inflammation response. And again, that's meant to be temporary. If you fall on your knee, you're going to get inflammation to the area, but it should after a few minutes start to subside and whatever. But you don't want that chronic inflammation. Cortisol does that. No repair is happening at the time you have all these inflammation. You don't go into autophagy. Why? Because you're not sleeping properly. You're overwhelmed. That's a big issue today.

I first wrote about this, go back to the eighties. I first wrote about this when I wrote a book on chronic fatigue syndrome. What was it? What was it that was causing chronic fatigue? They called it the yuppie flu and whatever I said, and it was 90 something per percent women. I said, no, it ain't, it's cortisol. It's the adrenals becoming exhausted from that constant, constant drip, drip, drip of cortisol. Makes you very unwell. And cortisol pours gasoline on the fire of inflammation. That's why I'm big on cortisol. That's why I'm so big on fixing it. Anyway, that was Lorna. Hi Lorna, thanks again.

Janine, "what are your feelings about the latest B12 readings for you?" She's at 1400. I can live with that. Listen, guys, okay and you know I talk a lot about B12, okay? A fundamental 90% of the population or more are not getting enough B12 for many reasons. It's a finicky vitamin. It's a large molecule vitamin. It is very different. It's hard to absorb on the best of days, your stomach almost has to be perfect to absorb B12 properly. So people walk around, it's too bad they don't have a light on their head that says you're low in B12. You know what is my statement I always make? If I could get into every senior home in North America, I'd take two vitamins with me, B12 and vitamin D, and they would all feel better almost instantly because they're all low in it. I can guarantee it. So if your numbers are coming back at that level, that's high to a doctor. The doctor, your B12's high. They've never seen a case ever where you became toxic on B12. They've never seen a case of it because it can't happen. It's a water soluble vitamin, first of all.

But there's a big, but, okay, there's a big, but in a way, I don't care what your blood work says, okay? I sort of have a sweet spot. I want it above 800. But even then, I was so, so adamant in my clinic that we would do a questionnaire. Not that I didn't look at your B12 because I did, but symptoms always, always trumped blood work, especially for B12 and thyroid. But B12. So if you had symptoms, you're all yawning all the time. You're tired. Any neurological, any perversion of taste around the mouth or neuropathy, always, always low in B12. You're on any medication, assume you're low in B12, any medication, especially metformin and others, but I'm not kidding you, any medication will take away your B12. So it depends, Janine. It depends on how you're feeling. What are your symptoms? You feeling good? Got high energy? You're not yawning all the time. Well, you might like that B12, but when it's at 1400, who cares? Who cares? That ain't making you sick. But I always teach this about B12, B12 in your blood in a way. So what? Because it belongs in your cell and they don't measure that I used to clinically.

I think I'm done. I think I'm done. Yep, I think I'm done. Okay, guys, remember now again about the book. I'm going to announce it to your tired of it, okay? It's coming out. We're hoping to have it here by Black Friday, ready to be shipped, but definitely we'll make great, great Christmas gifts. Rebuilding Your Temple. I tell you, Tony Jr. and I, we're thrilled about it.
