TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone. Once again, how are you? And hope you're having a great start to your day. We appreciate you coming on live. Those who can, of course. Okay, let's just get into a couple of studies. Exercise. Listen to this exercise better than drugs to stop cancer from returning. How do you like that? Okay, exercise. Okay, better than meds. Okay, let me read you a headline here. Okay? The data is in, okay, exercise versus cancer in a global trial, and this one was, I'm going to give you two of them. One of them was very specific to colon cancer, which by the way, colon cancer is probably, it's not the number one killer. Lung cancer still is, okay? And we can go into that, okay? Because I always do a lot of repetition because we always got lots of new people. And by the way, repetition.

Repetition. That's how I learned repetition. Okay, so I'm going to just put lung cancer over here just for a second. I'll come back to it. Okay. Why do we have so much lung cancer? Why is lung cancer still number one in terms of cancers? When we got the memo to stop smoking? Okay, come back to that Exercise and cancer, vitamin E, the real vitamin E exercise move. Now again here at the Martin Clinic, here at the doctor is in podcasts. What have we been talking about for? Seems like a century. Exercise is a real vitamin. Getting strong is the best of all exercise vitamins. Now, if you move and walk, and this is what these people did, okay? In a global trial of 889 colon cancer patients, those in the three year coaching program, so they got a personal trainer, they put them in it compared to others who didn't get into an exercise program, they had a 28% decrease in recurrence and 37% decrease in all cause mortality.

Why do we see, first of all so much colon cancer today compared to before it comes back? I'm telling you the number one reason comes back to food. We spent a lot of time recently talking about the importance of eating for your body type, not blood type. Okay? You see that book Eating for your Blood type? I don't buy it. That's nonsense. In my opinion. I was never influenced by that book. I was there when the book, and believe it or not, show you how ancient I am. I was there when that book was introduced. It was introduced at a conference in Anaheim, California. I happened to be there. I wrote a book too on chronic fatigue and I was invited to, and we launched that book at the largest, I'm not going to say holistic. What would I say? Health conference, holistic, maybe alternative health conference in the world at the time was held in Anaheim, California in the nineties and the book Eating for your Blood type, I never bought it guys. Okay? Just the way your body works.

Your body works. You're not a rabbit, you're not a cow. You don't have forest stomachs. You don't even have an enzyme called cellulase. You want to live on salad? Well, good for you, but you're not doing the right thing. Your body wasn't meant for it. I don't care what blood type you are, you are meant to eat meat and I've proven that to you. I believe with a very strong case of what your stomach is like. It's like a lion's stomach. As a matter of fact, it's even more acidic than a lion. And the only way that changes is when you don't eat the right foods. So when you don't eat the right foods and you want to live on the plant kingdom, I'm not saying you shouldn't have any plants. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat any fruits and vegetables. I'm not saying that, but you're not to live on it. The majority of your food should be from the animal kingdom, and I know that bothers people. Eggs, meat, and cheese. And when I say meat, I mean fish too, okay? That's what your body would design to. Everybody in the universe, any human being should have a very, very, very acidic stomach. And when you don't and when you insist on eating crappy carbs, living on vegetables and fruit and grains, your pH of your stomach is going to become more alkaline. You weren't designed for that. What happens then?

Your colon was never meant for all the carbohydrates and sugars. Sugar is toxic to your gut toxic. That's why people today, we see a lot more SIBO and SIFO and ulcerative colitis and I-B-S-I-B-F, like all of it, inflammatory bowel disease. Why do we see all that? Why is it so prevalent? Why are we seeing so much colon cancer for that reason? And then you add the seed oils, the hydrogenated meant for your car oils. Now you're in deep dodo in the gut. Okay, so why do I have this book, by the way? Because he signed it for me personally. I said, I'll keep it. I got no problem. You show me something, I will read it, but I'm right. He's wrong now. He's richer than me. He sold, I don't know how many millions of copies of this book. I sold a lot of books, but not like this guy, but I'm right.

He's wrong and he led a lot of people astray in my opinion because his premise was wrong anyway, and a lot of people, I saw thousands of people over the years that bought that book and Oh, I can't eat meat. I'm not the certain blood type, and I used to get a migraine. When I heard that I got migraines, it bothered me. It wasn't true and I had to undo that thinking. Any who? Back to cancer and exercise. Okay, that was a whole preamble. Now I'll get to lung cancer. I got to do it. Okay? I got to do it when you smoke, okay? When you smoke, what is it that is so destructive? The free radical damage and all that? Yes, yes, yes. Oxidation, yes, yes, yes. And destructive smoking. Everybody knows it. There's no argument about that. Smoking and cancer go together. Smoking and heart disease go together a hundred percent.

There isn't a doctor in the world. Well, probably there's one, but there isn't many that don't agree with that statement and we got the memo and why is it that we have all this lung cancer today? Why we shouldn't have lung cancer? You smoke. Well, seed oils, I'm convinced of it, okay? I'm convinced of it. It's seed oils. It's the middle aisles of your grocery store. It's those bad oils. You see them on the shelves, the hateful eight from grape seed oil to safflower to soy to canola, because those are cotton seed oils. They just bend all dressed up to be really, really good for you. They're not good for you at all. Your body don't even know what they are. They're high in omega six, and the side effect of those oils on the lungs is very similar to smoking.

It's called aldehydes. You smoke. One of the processes and one of the deadly processes on your body are aldehydes like think of formaldehyde, not good. That gets in your lungs, guys. It gets other places too, but I'm telling you, it's one of the big reasons and the big reason we have so much colon cancer is because we're eating the wrong foods. I had somebody on our private Facebook group the other day and they put their opinion in it. Hey, you got to write to your opinion, but that don't make you right. Oh, there's a lot of things that feed cancer including meat. No steak, okay? Cancer hates steak. It hates it. There's nothing in a steak that a cancer can feed on, but if you want to go with the majority opinion, you're on the wrong program here.

I don't care. I don't care about what People that have an agenda and they want to get you off animal products, I don't buy it, guys. It can't be true because your body was made, you got more acidity in your stomach and you got the teeth and you are not to live on the plant kingdom. I'm sorry. It ain't true. Okay, it ain't true Now, okay, we're back to exercise. Vitamin E in cancer, okay, so on colon cancer already been diagnosed and then they want to see what is the best outcome when you already have cancer and exercise. It blew them away.

It blew them away. One of the problems, and this is me, I want to talk to you a little bit about it just because the way I think one of the problems I have, you have a scam of whatever you got cancer and the medical system right away they were slow because they're not into prevention, they're into detection. I'm not against detection, by the way, okay? I'm not. I'm just more into prevention so that you don't get cancer in the first place. I want your body to be a fighting machine. I want your T cells, your immune system, your body to fight cancer. We fight cancer every day, and remember, I always teach this to cancer. To get to the size of a tip of a ballpoint bend takes five years. Cancer is very slow progressing. People think, oh, I didn't have cancer last week. I went to the doctor. I had a scan or I had a mammogram or whatever. Now I got cancer. Well, you had cancer for a long time.

You fight cancer every day. Why do you think I talk about vitamin D all the time? Why do you think I talk about the sun? Why do you think I talk about steak? I want you to prevent cancer. Don't feed it anyway, okay? So what they're seeing is once you have cancer, exercise seems to be a huge part of the treatment. The problem is when you get a diagnosis of cancer, you're put into a box right away. You got to get chemo, you got to get radiation, you got to have it cut out. And guys, I'm not arguing that so much as once you get into that treatment program, you feel like crap, you might've felt good before and now all of a sudden, jeepers creepers, they hammer you. Oh yeah, but we're killing the cancer, but you're killing the immune system and they're killing me too. Anyway.

I'm not trying to tell people what to do. I'm just very opinionated when I see people put in a box. Wouldn't it be nice if at your local hospital or cancer center, they had a wide range of people, of different doctors, integrative medicine? Let's look at the whole person. Let's look at the immune system, but you get shoved in usually to a box and right away, man, oh man, they never talked about prevention, but now that we detected it, let's hammer it. Chemo, radiation, chemo, radiation, surgery, and now we're going to hammer your immune system. I've had oncologists tell me, I don't want your immune system working. I'm going to poison you. I don't want your immune system. Don't take anything. Don't take probiotics, don't do anything. I want to hammer your immune system and then we'll fight cancer. Guys. It's the way it is. I don't expect it to change. Not rapidly. Medicine has been hijacked. I've said that for years and they've been hijacked. They're hijacked by the pharmaceuticals and they can hardly think outside the box, but when they do research outside the box, it's amazing what they're finding. Exercise is better than medication for keeping cancer from returning. Holy moly, who knew?

Who knew? I love vitamin E. Okay, listen to this one. Okay, vitamin E, another on vitamin E, colon cancer, vitamin E and vitamin D. This is a good one. Exercise when you're exercising, do you know that you lose less vitamin D in the winter time? It's not that you gain vitamin D, but you lose less in the winter because you lose a lot of vitamin D in the winter. That's why you know me, I talk about supplementing, I'd rather you get in the sun, but if you live where I live, good luck sunbathing in the winter, that ain't going to happen. You need to supplement with vitamin D, but when you exercise, is there anything negative about exercise? You lose less vitamin D. I like that. I like that. Okay, let's look at a couple of these are new studies on exercise, okay? VO two max, okay, your VO two max, and they're showing people with the lowest VO two max are five times more likely to die than people who have a high.

Now we're all going to die, so let's take that, put that over there, okay? Because that's just a fact, okay? I always laugh. Well, I don't laugh, but I get a chuckle if you know what I mean by that, okay? I'm not laughing at people, but I get a chuckle when people say, Don Martin, I'm, I've got good genetics and I'm going to live till I'm 110. Be careful what you wish for, okay? I want to live. I do. I want to be healthy though. I want my brain to work you. I don't want to be a vegetable and oh, I'm still alive. No, I don't want that. I'm big on quality, not quantity, okay? I'm big on quality, not quantity. So quality of life exercise is tremendous for quality of life. They're talking about VO two max. If you can walk, some of you can't, you got bad knees or whatever, but you can still get strong.

You can get stronger because they're talking about listen to this grip strength. Now, where is my little gripper? Oh, it's probably out in the other room. Okay? Your grip strength. I did a program on this, I don't know how long ago on grip strength that it should be a vital sign. You don't like your respiration rate, your heart rate, your pulse rate, your breathing rate, all of that are what we call vital signs. Well, they're actually talking about adding another vital sign. Let me see your grip strength because it is directly proportional. Let me read this. If your grip strength has gone down significantly as you get older, it's a 15 to 20% increase in all cause mortality. Now, it's not everything but grip strength and it goes back to sarcopenia, which is muscle wasting sarcopenia. Nobody ever thought it was a good thing, but they never knew. They never knew. You got to understand, I've been around a long time, they never knew much about sarcopenia other than, well, that can be a big factor in osteoporosis and yeah, yeah, we know that, but now they're showing the sarcopenia. Muscle wasting is huge when it comes to all cause mortality. It's huge.

VO two max grip strength, and I was reading another study on one leg stands, can you do a one leg stand? Can you stand up and do one leg? As we get older? I'm telling you things that maybe you just took for granted at one time. Can't do it. And vitamin E is fabulous exercise, and like I said, the number one exercise is not walking, although I love walking. The number one exercise is getting strong. We put out an email on this like the connection between your leg muscles and your brain, they're directly related. When you do leg day, you're increasing your, especially in the memory center of your brain, the hypothalamus, okay? You're increasing the memory center of your brain. Really, really important. Okay? So again, vitamin E cancer, vitamin E, colon cancer, specifically vitamin E and vitamin D go together to some extent.

Isn't that beautiful? Okay, guys, we got a great week, lots of fun, great studies, and we appreciate when you can come on live, but if you can't tell everyone, those of your friends and family that can't listen to the doctor is in, they can listen to our podcast on their smart device, okay?
