1568. Fruits & Veggies Aren’t Enough: Here’s Why – Part 2

There are three kingdoms of food, the animal kingdom, the plant kingdom, and the manmade kingdom. For decades now, Dr. Martin has been encouraging people to eat primarily from the animal kingdom, and specifically eggs, meat and cheese.

Join Dr. Martin as he continues discussing nutrients that are not adequately sourced from plants in today’s episode. He focuses on the importance of coQ10, glutathione, and essential amino acids, some found only in the animal kingdom. Don’t miss this informative 2-part series!

TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone. Once again. How are you? Good to have you guys on this morning as we get started with our Doctor Is In podcast and live Facebook. Let's get going guys. Yesterday what we did, we talked about essential nutrients missing from the plant kingdom. Okay? Three kingdoms of food, okay? Three kingdoms. You have the animal kingdom and of course that's being ridiculed and you name it today because the animal kingdom is the best food in the world. But according to the gurus and all that, you got to limit your animal kingdom where it's just the opposite. I'll bring you a couple of studies just sort of to prove the point. So there's the animal kingdom, and that contains cholesterol. You don't find cholesterol in the plant kingdom, and for a lot of people, oh, that's good. Plants are much better because they don't have any cholesterol, but that's the farthest thing from the truth. That's not true at all.

Secondly, you have the plant kingdom, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, okay, those are the plant kingdom and they're good. Now, they have some negativity too. There are a lot of antinutrients in the plant kingdom like phytic acid, which is, it bites off. The word phytic means it's biting off. Think of it, about 90% of all plants may be more than that are poisonous and they have a protective substance so animals don't eat them. The plant kingdom, and they call that phytic acid. The other thing is oxalates. We talked about this on this program, many a time oxalates and oxalates are little glass like substance that can get caught up in your kidneys, get caught up in your tissue. And again, I'm not saying that you never have anything from the plant kingdom. I'm just telling you that these can be antinutrients, oxalates. And I brought to you in my book Sun Steak and Steel, I talked about oxalates and breast cancer. I talk about that in that book and I've done it before on podcasts.

And then thirdly, and this is, it's not unique to me, but I think I was probably one of the first guys to mention this, that fiber is overrated. Okay? You guys that have followed me for any length of time, admit that I've said this before, fiber is overrated. It's overrated. And the world loves fiber, but I think it's overrated. I think it's a big, big factor in colon cancer. I think it's a big factor in diverticulosis and diverticulitis and IBS that people eat way too much fiber. Your bowel wasn't made for it and I try and use the example of a cow that has got four stomachs and a long, long, long, long intestines. You're not a cow and to break down, you don't even have the enzyme cellulase to break down all that fiber. And so fiber ends up, most of it ends up in the toilet, and people think that's a good thing. I think it's overrated.

I'm not saying fiber doesn't maybe have some benefits, but I was always big on anybody that had an irritated bowel that had a sunburn in their bowel. You know what I mean by that? Where people really like ulcerative colitis, severe IBS and everything, their stomach and their bowel were angry all the time whenever they ate. And I would tell 'em, well, you know what? I'm getting you off all fiber. When spinach gets caught in your teeth, it'll get caught in your gut too. So will nuts and so will seeds. And I'm not saying again, you know me, I like flax seeds. I tell people to eat flax seeds. It's the one seed that I really like that's good for you because of the amount of lingnans it has. But these sort of things generally are antinutrients, okay? Phytic acid, oxalates and fiber in the plant kingdom. And I'm not telling you to dismiss the plant kingdom, okay? So don't get me wrong on that. Okay?

So that's sort of a little bit of a recap of yesterday and we went into the C's of amino acids. We talked about carnitine and carnosine and we talked about the importance of creatine and the importance of choline and L cysteine. These are the C's that are found in the animal kingdom. And the point I was making yesterday was when you look at coQ10. CoQ10 is an enzyme, a coenzyme, your body makes it, but you're never going to make more of it. The amount that you really need unless you are eating big time from the animal kingdom because you're not going to get the essential amino acids needed for coQ10, and I talked about that. Remember coQ10 and your battery packs. 2000 battery packs in every brain cell that you own. There's 2000 battery packs there, mitochondria, and you want to feed that. You want to feed that with coQ10 and even your heart and coQ10 again was made famous because of statin drugs. Nobody even talked about coQ10 until they found out that if you take a statin drug, the number one selling drug of all time and still it destroy your coQ10, imagine that.

No wonder, oh, I got low cholesterol. Yeah, why do you want that for? And every day, seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year and 365 days a year, I get asked about cholesterol every day I do because the world went crazy on cholesterol. It was all a gimmick. It was all poor science, and I've been pushing back for 50 years on that. Am I going to win? No, I don't. But to those who listen, Linda's and Larry's, if you listen, well, cholesterol is not at the root of heart disease. Don't blame the firemen because they're at the fire. Don't blame the policemen because they're at the crime scene. Of course, cholesterol is flowing through your blood vessels. Of course it is. It's a transporter, especially your LDL. They're transporters. Your HDL, it's a transporter. HDL has a hitch and a wagon in the back of it to hitch those triglycerides out of your bloodstream and to bring them back to the liver for processing. That's just basic biochemistry 101 and it's almost like it's been completely forgotten. Why is that? Because of money. Follow the money trail, the number one selling medication of all time. Okay?

So we talked about coQ10 and then we talked about glutathione. Glutathione is made up of three amino acids. Cysteine, which is a C, glycine, L glycine, and L glutamic acid. Those are the three amino acids that make up glutathione. And you hear me talking about glutathione all the time, and the Velcro in your body, your body needs glutathione, your body needs it. One of the things that kills glutathione is when you take a painkiller, even if it's over the counter like Tylenol. Tylenol actually destroys your glutathione. And so you need glutathione. It's your Velcro. It accumulates and attracts the heavy metals to take them out of your body, lay the mercury, lead, cadmium, aluminum, the plastics, the yeast, fungus, glutathione's on your side, but you need three amino acids to even make it properly. And guess what? Most people don't get enough from the animal kingdom that makes up those amino acids needed for coQ10 and glutathione.

I'm trying to make the point. You need to eat from the animal kingdom and don't let anybody tell you differently. When someone tells you that it's better on the food pyramid, that you have lots of grains and lots of fruits and vegetables compared to your eggs, meat and cheese, run, Forrest run, they're wrong. They are touting a religion, not science, and there's a lot of religion in nutrition today, and then they make up stuff. You guys have to admit it. I just constantly, constantly tell you to avoid the as much as you can. The manmade foods made with the bad oils in the middle aisles of your grocery store. Avoid them and limit to some extent, fruits and vegetables in the plant kingdom. Nuts and seeds, limit them. I'm not saying don't have them, I'm just saying limit them and then live on the animal kingdom. Eggs, meat, especially steak and dairy. I'm big on dairy. Don't ditch dairy. Switch it. Don't go drinking milk unless you have a cow in the backyard. You don't need milk.

Guys, learn how to live. Very important. This is an important point I'm going to make here. It's really important. Learn to live on drinking water, not milk. Okay? People think they have to drink. Yeah, you do. Drink water and coffee. If you have to have some tea, okay, but you know what guys? Like this whole stuff about juices and people, Doc, I used to hear it all the time in the office. Men especially men are big babies generally, except for the guys that follow us here, okay? All you guys out there, you're not babies, but most men are big babies. Dr. Martin, I just, no possibility of me drinking water. I don't like water. I said, you big baby. I'm telling you to drink water. You're going to have a heart attack if you don't start drinking water. I don't care if you like it, you'll thank me later. I used to say this in my office all the time, okay? You know me in the three Ds, desire, determination, and discipline. Okay?

Desire is the first D. Good for you. I'm decided I'm going to get healthy. Good for you. Good start. I like it. I am resolved. But that ain't going to do it for you. That ain't going to do it for you. You better be determined and disciplined. You better learn to form new habits. You better learn. You know what? I literally did this with thousands of people. They weren't drinking water. And I said, you drink water for three weeks and then you come back in this office and we'll have a conversation. Just trust me. Drink two liters or 64 ounces of water every day. Measure it. Oh, Dr. Martin. I said, suck it up buttercup. I want you to for three weeks. Listen to me. Trust me. I just measured your viscosity. I just measured your kidney function. Your kidneys ain't working properly, they're stressed, and your kidneys are like Niagara Falls, and you're going to listen to me, please for three weeks. I can't go home with you. You need to form a habit how long it takes to form a habit, 21 days.

And then a thousand times this happened, especially with men. They come back in the office. Dr. Martin, I feel better. Yeah. Dr. Martin, I used to get headaches. I don't have headaches anymore. Yeah, Dr. Martin, I kind of like water now. Yeah, you formed a habit. You formed a habit. Now you understand how good you feel just with water. Why do you think I call it vitamin W? You need it, drink it, and nothing else is water. Okay? So that was number one. Takes you three weeks. Now men usually got this one good, okay? Not all women did, but men, I said, I want you to go home. You're going to drink water. And then secondly, you're going to drink coffee. You're pulling my leg, right, doc? My doctor wants me to cut out coffee, the caffeine in there, and I, no, no. I said, I want you to go home and drink coffee. Really? Yeah, really.

And then secondly, I don't want you to put any sugar in it. I don't want you to put a sweetener in it. And if you want, you can put a little cream in it. But doctor, I usually have poor sugars in my coffee. Yeah, I said, you're not having coffee, you're having syrup. Now I want you to just drink coffee. Okay? And then again, 21 days. Do you know how many people changed the habit? They had sugar in their coffee and they stopped. And now if I talk to those same people. I did this guys, by the way, when I was 18 years old, I started drinking coffee when I was a kid. Why? My grandmother, my mom wouldn't let me drink coffee, but my grandmother would. Grandma's she'd percolate the coffee, you know what I mean, in her percolator and even the smell of it. But in order for me to drink it, I used to put about six teaspoons of sugar in it. And then I remember when I was in, I think about grade 13, okay? When there was a grade 13 in Ontario, I stopped putting sugar, I just said, sugar's not good for me.

Again, remember my background? My dad was a diabetic and he used to tell me every day, son, it's sugar diabetes. What? Sugar diabetes. That's why you see your dad not having any more sugar. My dad was the first guy to drink diet pop, I think. I said, dad, I'm getting you to drink that stuff. It tastes like urine. Anywho, and guys had come back three weeks later and I realize I can drink coffee without sugar. As a matter of fact, now I found it too sweet if someone. People used to do it with me, they bring me a peace offering to my office. And they knew I liked coffee, so they'd bring me a coffee, except they didn't ask me how I liked it. And they'd bring me a regular coffee. And I said, sorry, I know your intentions were great, but I can't drink this. It's got sugar in it. I drink my coffee black. I can't have anything in it. What's the point of all this diatribe? Well, I'm trying to tell you how good coffee is for you. And so two habits. Drink water and drink coffee and eat from the animal kingdom. Got the memo?

Okay, and so, again, essential nutrients missing. Like listen, I just got into the C's. I got into glutathione, coQ10, I could talk to you about, and we talked yesterday about vitamin A. You don't get B12 in the plant kingdom, not enough for a mouse. Don't let anybody tell you differently. You don't get B12. And you know me, I'm a big guy on B12 and vitamin D. If you're not getting enough of that, and in the plant kingdom, you don't have either one of them. They're not in there. I'm sorry. They're not, okay? A mouse could not live on the B12 that's in the plant kingdom. It's not enough. It's not in there. And then you have an iron that's called heme, HEME, heme iron. It's found in steak. You need it, okay? You need that iron.

Popeye ate spinach. Remember for iron? Popeye lied to us. You don't get heme iron in plants and spinach. It ain't in there. What can I tell you? A lot of people get offended by that. What do you want me to do? I'm just a messenger. And I'm telling you the truth. Anybody that would avoid the animal kingdom, they're making a big boo boo. And if they do well, they need to supplement. They need to take a multitude of supplements to make up for what they're not eating. Zinc, do I got to talk about zinc? Zinc became famous during the virus. Heck, if they had just given vitamin D and zinc, we would've emptied the hospitals. Oh, no, we can't talk about that. But zinc's found in the animal kingdom, it's not in the plant kingdom. Your immune system.

Let me talk to you about ladies, about your thyroid. Can I talk to you about your thyroid for a second and why you need to eat from the animal kingdom? Selenium. Everybody talks about iodine. I like iodine for thyroid. But that's not your primary thing. Your primary thing for your thyroid is your selenium. And look, I know there's some selenium in Brazil nuts, and I know, not enough. You know how many nuts you need to eat to get the right amount of selenium for your thyroid to work properly? Why do you think a lot of, and it's mostly women. They got, women are complicated. They got a lot of strings attached, including their ovaries that attach directly to their thyroid. I know all that, but I'm telling you, a lot of women, they just love their salad. They got to have their salad. And I got to have maybe a little bit of chicken and salad, but mostly salad.

I was in Washington last week and in a few restaurants and people, they just live on saline. I'm sorry, it ain't a rabbit. Your thyroid needs selenium from steak. Your thyroid needs selenium from eggs. Your thyroid needs selenium from dairy, cheese and butter. Got it? I thought I was only going to do a partial session. Okay, guys, we love you dearly. We'll talk to you soon. And by the way, Friday is what? Q and A, get your questions in. Talk to you soon.
