TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE
Announcer: You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good morning everyone, and once again, welcome to another live this morning and good to have you on with us, and we appreciate it big time. Q and A today, Q and A Friday. Okay, I got my questions all lined up. Here we go. So let's get right to the questions and I'm sure we're going to be doing Q and A Monday too. Okay? Now you have any questions at any time, send them in info@martinclinic.com. And by the way, we have a toll free number if you want to call in because a lot of people ahh I'm not sending no email. You want to call in? We have a toll free number. 1-866-660-6607 for those who want to call. Okay? Can't call into the show because I won't see it. Okay, let's get to questions.
Question number one, Francis, how are you? Why would my hemoglobin be high? Couple of reasons you can get high hemoglobin. I am going to a conference in Denver next week and I got to figure out how we're going to do our shows from Denver. Okay? Going to a conference, Tony, Jr. And I, and it's going to be fun, okay? Some of the staff from Martin Clinic, we're going to a conference and my hemoglobin probably going to go up when I get to Denver, okay? Because of a high altitude, the mile high city. Now that can happen, right? The mile High city, right? A little bit more difficult breathing. I remember going into the Rockies again at a conference. I landed in Denver, but I think we went up to tell aide Colorado. And man, I went up for a run the next morning and I could barely breathe. I was sucking for air big time. And in those days I was so used to running.
Now I walk, okay, I do weights and I walk. I do a little bit of sprinting too, by the way. Okay? Very good for testosterone. But anyway, if you're in a high altitude that can do it. If you're dehydrated, your hemoglobin will go up. Okay? Now you could have a bone marrow disorder. Doctors are always really concerned about that. I don't think so for you, Francis, but hey, I don't have your history or whatever. And if you got high hemoglobin and your doctor flagged it and is concerned about it, they'll do follow-up testing. I'm not too concerned about it, okay? Like I said, I don't have all the information, but to be honest, I'm not too concerned. How are you? Hefa condition, which is a spasm and they say an only surgery that helps. Well, I've seen it because it's involved with your cranial nerve.
Okay? So when I was in school, okay, let me show you something. You got to be live in a way, but take your hand, put your thumb back here, okay? Put your thumb in the back of your neck and then branch out the other four fingers. Now you'll get a picture of your cranial nerves, okay? I'm a simple guy, that's how I learn things. So your cranial nerves cranial come from the spine and then they branch out. And when you get a pinching in one of those nerves, you can get a spasm. What do they call it again? Hemi? Facial condition. Yeah, usually a pinching. So one thing like ghislaine, I would try chiropractor before surgery. I'm not saying you don't need surgery or someone doesn't, but I've seen that get better. And remember, one of the things are very important, any kind of nerve condition when it comes to a supplement, B12.
B12 is a nerve vitamin. A lot of people are low in that. They don't realize it. That can cause a cascade of problems. Okay? Thank you very much Ghislaine for the question. Cheryl, what does Dr. Martin think about ozone therapy? I like it. I used to have it in my office. Okay? I had ozone therapy in my office years and years and years ago. I liked it. Okay? It's not the be all and end all, but I like ozone. Okay? A ominous, okay, I've incorporated EMC and given up sugar. Good for you. However, since eating EMC, my cholesterol and triglycerides have increased. Well, let me just tell you anonymous, that is very rare, okay? But there's other reasons why triglycerol cholesterol, I don't care. Your cholesterol is going up, who cares? I know that's controversial, but I've been saying that for a hundred years. Well, not quite, but a long time.
And everybody that follows me on this program and previously on my radio show, very consistent. Never worried about cholesterol, total cholesterol. Well, I was worried that your cholesterol was too low. That's what I'm worried about. Not too high, too low, especially your H-D-L-L-D-L. The more they study the LDL now the more they realize low LDL equals you die young. Okay? So I don't want to talk about your cholesterol, but I will talk about your triglycerides. There's other reasons triglycerides can go up. Now, tens of thousands of people have gone on the reset and they eat eggs, meat, and cheese, and they've done very well and their blood work shows it because when your triglycerides go down and your HDL goes up, that's part of metabolic syndrome. That's why I created the 30 day reset for that. And triglyceride generally go down. Now there's other reasons.
Okay? High cortisol, high stress can elevate your triglycerides. Low physical activity, not moving. Your triglycerides can go up. Mostly it's diet, but there are certain things, kidney disease, liver disease. Now I'm sure you've ruled those out, okay? But I'm telling you, I've seen it before in people and there's other reasons for high triglycerides. It's rare. I'd tell you don't change your diet. Figure out what else is causing your triglycerides to go up. But I'm not worried about your cholesterol. Your doctor might be, but I'm not. Okay? And you can't make me worry about it as long as you got good HDL. Okay, there you go. Karen, are there any adverse effects of natal when on blood pressure medication? No. They go very well together. Very well together. Natal works on blood pressure. By elevating your nitric oxide, it opens up your blood vessels, your blood pressure medication works differently than that.
Usually works at the kidney level. Okay? And navit all will protect your kidneys. Navit all is such a powerful product when you're taking meds. It actually protects you from some of the side effects of those meds and works in conjunction with medication, especially for high blood pressure. I never tell people to come off high blood pressure medication. You got to do that when your blood pressure. Look, I don't want anybody to have high blood pressure, but usually when they eliminate sugar, their blood pressure goes down, their blood pressure goes down usually because it affects the kidneys. Sugar is so toxic, your body knows it, okay? And it ain't salt, by the way. Thanks for the question, Karen. We appreciate it. Dale. I just heard about C 15 fatty acid supplement. Yeah, I've heard about it before. Don't buy the hype. What do they call that?
Penta? I don't remember. Penta decanoic acid C 15. When a company puts out that this is the best thing since sliced bread, that it's better than Omega-3 DHA and EPA run forest run. I'm not saying it's no good, I'm just saying nah. Okay, and by the way, you know where you find C 15 coconut oil and in mummy's breast milk. Okay, good. I'm not saying it's no good. You know me, I like coconut oil. I like butter better though. I like fish oil better. Okay? I'm not saying coconut oil is no good, but to take it alone as a supplement, I wouldn't bother. Take some coconut oil. If you think you need C 15 butter better butter is better. There you go. Okay, thanks for the question, Dale. We appreciate it. Joanne.
Dr. Martin regarding BPH. You know what BPH is, folks? Okay, BPH is prostate. Okay? Benign prostate hyperplasia. Oh, leave it to medicine to give it a big long name that nobody can say, okay. Benign prostate hyperplasia. You know what that means? You got a big prostate and men over 50. That's what usually happens to men. That's why a man usually is up in the middle of the night, got to go for a pee, okay? A dear friend of mine played in the NHL for 14 years. Jean Provo, he had me laughing one day. He would tell me, go to the movies in the afternoon with the other senior citizens and he said, observe, watch the men, they'll get up and they got to go for a pee in the middle of the movie. I died laughing because guess what? He was right. I said, yeah, you're right. He said, say it when they're going down to the bathroom plus that, okay, in French or prostate, I said, the boat died laughing. The vote is true. That's benign. Okay? Benign means it's not cancerous. Hyperplasia just means enlarged prostate.
Okay? Now the question all of that, Joanne, I didn't even answer your question. And symptoms tell us coffee is to be avoided or eliminated. No. You know what, Joanne? I get a migraine when I read some of the nonsense. That's if you got a prostate problem, eliminate coffee. Why would you eliminate coffee if you have a prostate problem? Don't you want to keep that prostate away from cancer? Coffee, the real vitamin C. It's a powerful antioxidant. It's a powerful anti-inflammatory. It's a powerful everything. It has a thousand phytonutrients. When people tell you to stop drinking coffee, run forest run. It's nonsense. It's the opposite. I know you guys think I have a real love for coffee. No, it's therapeutic. No, I do have a love for coffee, but here's what you guys know. I have been saying this for 50 years. You should have heard the anti coffee stuff that came out in the seventies, the anti coffee stuff that came out in the eighties.
It's acidic. It will dehydrate you. You'll lose all your minerals, you'll lose all your electrolytes. Coffee is cancer in a cup? No. It's anti-cancer in a cup. And the more research they do on it, the more you need to understand. And tea, by the way, doesn't even come close. That's why I feel sorry for tea drinkers. Okay? It don't come close as far as the phytonutrients in coffee. I double down, I triple down. I quadruple down on it because I'm right about it. And I'm sorry, anybody tells you, oh, you got a prostate problem, cut back. I'm not saying have a coffee at 10 o'clock at night if you're up in the middle of the night because of your prostate, okay? I'm not telling you that. I'm just telling you coffee is so therapeutic. Okay? Thank you Joanne for getting me to talk about coffee.
Tara, is this correct? If you drink plain water, it will not hydrate you. Nonsense. Nonsense. Now you guys know I like electrolytes. Okay? I talk about the molo time. That's why I like salt and I like a good pink Himalayan or Celtic or whatever. You got all those minerals in it. And spring water, by the way, has minerals in it and you can get water that you can get culligans or whatever, and they filter that water and there are no minerals in it and it's all right. It'll still hydrate you, but I like spring water better, okay? I don't like distilled water. I like ozone treated water or whatever. That's fine. But guys, spring water is the best water. It's already got the minerals in it, but I like adding a pinch of salt to it. Okay? That was Tara. You need sodium, potassium, magnesium in your water for cellular hydration.
Yeah, and you get that in spring water, okay? The way you're meant to drink water and you can add more if you want to get electrolytes, okay? I like electrolytes. I do. Okay, thank you Tara. Linda, oh, we love Linda's mono. Lauren as a supplement, does it have any benefit to the immune system? Well, I bet you if I did a survey today of my audience that knows just about everything, I could have people close their books and give them a test and my audience, I'll put up against anybody else's audience. I tell people that. I say, well, who's smart? My audience. They're smart. When I ask them questions, they know they can give you the answer almost invariably. That's why I give you guys honorary degrees in nutrition. You're so smart. Okay? Now I bet you 90% of the people, they don't even know what that is. You got to Google it. So there's a supplement of monolaurin. It's found in milk, it's found in coconut oil. Why? Take a supplement of it? Yeah, coconut's good for you.
It's, but I wouldn't take a supplement of it. Eat. There's a lot of things guys. I would just rather you eat than have to take a supplement, okay? And then when you see there's so few that make monolaurin, I mean, it's not that I haven't heard of it, it's just that nah, like why would you take a supplement of it when you can eat it or drink it in coconut oil? Okay, Joanna, what are your thoughts on DHA fish oil capsules going rancid? Well, it depends on the capsule. Okay, it depends. Fish oil. If you got a good fish oil, like our high DHA, we've tested this. They don't go rancid. Now if you want, when you open up DHA, some people put it in the fridge. I know people that put DHA in a freezer, I don't care. But at room temperature it'll last.
Look at our high DHA. Look at, and these have been tested. Look at the expiry date on it. Use it before then. Of course, if you're taking it every day, you never have to worry about it. Believe you me, if you find an old bottle of DHA in the cupboard, look at the expiry date on it. Even then you see it all. Guys, you know what it has to do with quality? We have the highest grade. It takes a pharmaceutical grade to get the amount of DHA that we put in our capsule. I mean that it is a process like you would not believe. But I won't compromise because I know what DHA does. I know what it does for the brain. I know what it does for the heart. I know what it does for your memory. I know what it does for your eyes.
I know what it does for your skin. I know what it does for your gut. It lubricates your blood vessels. There's nothing like it. DHA is the best thing since slice. Somebody said don't use the slice bread. Hey, I'm an expression guy. I've been saying these expressions since I was a kid. Nobody used expressions more than my mom. Okay? Nobody. I'm like my mom life expression. So when I say the greatest thing since sliced bread, don't be offended by that. It's just an expression of an old goat like me. Okay? We use expressions. I know I was reading my Bible this morning and it said in Deuteronomy chapter eight, man shall not live by bread alone. I was reminded, okay, Tony, you and your bread, be careful. You and carbs, man shall not live by bread alone.
Okay, look, you know what guys? I'm going to end it now. This morning I got to jump on a conference call, okay? So we'll end our question, but Monday we'll come back Q and A, Q and A Monday. Okay? Morning session Q and A. Monday morning, as a matter of fact. Yeah, then off to Denver. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do about Denver. I'll try and keep you updated as to when we'll do it. Okay? Anyway, Monday we're on Q and A. Talk to you soon.
