Announcer: You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.
Dr. Martin: Well, good afternoon everyone. Hope you're having a good afternoon. Okay, let's get going. We'll answer a few questions here. Okay, now back to question and answer. And Heidi is asking a good question. Here's what Heidi's asking. I'm wondering if oil of Oregano will help to heal a low grade underlying root canal infection since the infection is enclosed underneath. Yeah, that's alright. Look, what I would do is a couple of things I would do. One I would gargle, okay, and swish it real good in your mouth with oil of oral. Okay? Very strong, but very, very antibiotic. Antiparasitic. Antifungal, antiviral nature's best guys. God's gift to man is oil of oregano. That's a tremendous natural antibiotic. Yes, in a low grade infection. The other thing that I would do, you can use a Q-tip or whatever and put a little bit of probiotic, open up one of our capsules.
Now you're going to get a lot of bacteria and just put a Q-tip to the powder and with a couple of drops of oil of oregano, okay? Do the rinsing and do the swishing with the oil of oregano. But I've often used that with patients, a little bit of probiotic powder because you're also asking Heidi about toenail fungus. And I got a real good thing with toenail fungus, okay? And that is get right underneath that nail as far as you can go with this little sal that I want you to make. Oil of a rigol, a little bit of powder probiotic, and maybe even a little bit of coconut oil. Coconut oil, by the way, is very antifungal. Just a little bit of that. Make up a sap, very, very effective for toenail fungus, okay? The oil of oregano, probiotic, and perhaps a little bit of coconut oil and make yourself a little pace and put that right there.
But I'd certainly be using that orally, Heidi, for sure. Very effective. Okay? And you don't want to be on, if you've got a low grade infection, you don't want to be on an antibiotic for any length of time because you're just going to destroy all your friendly bacteria and you really don't that you're setting up a dysbiosis and I don't recommend that at all. Okay, Stephanie, how do you know if you need hormones? You're talking about hormonal therapy, right? Bioidentical. I used to do that in my practice. Okay, and what are you asking? Okay, I've been using progess cream where you use it for three weeks. Now, the progess cream often isn't a bioidentical. If you did not get a prescription for it, and Stephanie, maybe you can send me to info at Martin Clinic. Just send me, is it the bioidentical that you needed a prescription for?
At least in Canada you do. Or you just got a pro cream, which is a wild yam, which is all right, it's not, nothing wrong with it, but it's not like the real true bioidentical progesterone. Well, look, Steph, you got to go first of all by your symptoms. Okay? Were you getting hot flashes? Is it helping? What kind of symptoms were you getting? Then you'll know if you need it or not. I mean, I would do it more on symptoms, even hormonal testing, testing for estrogen, progesterone, I really like questionnaires. I mean, not that I didn't test, but I really, really like questionnaires in the office, okay? Because you get your clue. I mean, if your hormones ain't right, you're going to know it. Let me tell you, if you've got an imbalance, you're going to know it. Now you asked another question that I want to answer too, because as part of it, I have done some researching and saying that using progesterone can be dangerous for you.
I don't agree with that. I use progesterone for years and years and years and years. I gave it to patients for many, many years. A bioidentical progesterone is very safe. Now, I don't recommend estrogen. Trying to think if I ever, maybe once or twice ever gave estrogen to a patient. You know what the problem in the world is today? We got too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. You see, that's the key is the progesterone and our menopausal formula dims out estrogen, excess estrogen balances it and elevates your progesterone. It's made for that. It's made to elevate your progesterone and dim down your estrogen. So Steph depends on symptoms as to whether you really need it, but one thing I liked about progesterone, I find it very, very effective. You got to get your progesterone up. It's good for you. And generally really, really good. I find it a good protectant for breast cancer.
Miriam can low estrogen cause joint pain in menopausal women? Well, thank you Miriam for the question. Well, look, ladies, if you didn't know this, you heard it first on this program, the doctor is in, I'm going to make a generalized statement. You are complicated. Women have ovaries that complicates the world, and it's always that estrogen progesterone balance. That's the key because it affects your cortisol, it affects your thyroid, it affects obviously your ovaries, and it'll affect almost everything that you own. Ladies, if you have an imbalance there, including osteoporosis, including as estrogen, obviously when you get into menopausal or perimenopausal years, your estrogen is coming down. There's no doubt about that. And people go, well, doc, I thought you wanted estrogen to come down.
But it's all in relationship to progesterone. And progesterone is very important for bone quality. Well, testosterone in men is important too for bone density and bone quality. It's not just vitamin D and calcium and magnesium and boron and all those things. Yeah, those are important things, but hormones have a major effect on osteoporosis. And one of the things you got to do, guys, osteoporosis, get strong, ladies get strong. The stronger your muscle, the more it anchors in on those bones and it is really, really important. But Miriam, absolutely, as your progesterone comes down, and if it does not balance out your estrogen, it can affect your bone quality. Absolutely. Thank you very much for the question, Miriam. Ella, can anything be done for an aneurysm? A friend was recently diagnosed. Well, listen, obviously with an aneurysm, they're going to be under medical care. That's 100% for sure.
And the fact that they even know they have an aneurysm. Now where is that aneurysm? Is it in the aorta? Was the aneurysm in a brain? Where is it? I mean, that's something that is important too, but here's what I would do along with, look, you're under medical care a hundred percent with an aneurysm, right? You're going to be probably put on a blood thinner, maybe on a blood pressure medication, okay? But definitely will be put almost for sure on a blood thinner, but okay, now put that over there and the thing that one can do, so you could tell your friend this, I would have them on two things in particular on natal and high DHA on an aneurysm, okay? Because you want, with the high DHA, you want to lubricate those blood vessels, okay? Very, very effective. N ATOL elevates your nitric oxide.
Extra blood supply is what you want. Antioxidant, very important to help to heal. You put that combination of high D, HA and n atol, pine bark extra together, fabulous eyes, brain, heart. Wherever they have the aneurysm, it will help. Okay? And obviously you're under medical care, obviously. Okay, and that was rella. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. I have very dry lips, legs and feet. Any suggestions? Drink a lot of water, which you're already doing good for you. Take the DHA probiotics. What can I do? Well, these could be hormones, okay? Again, you might look at get on our menopausal formula to elevate your progesterone. Could be very, very helpful there. I like our Rivera. Rivera is so good. I've got a bottle about 10 feet from me here, man. I like that for the skin. That is so good. You might take a little bit of coconut oil or olive oil.
I like that for a skin product too. I really do for dry skin and use liberally. But with skin guys, you always work inside out first. If you're flaking at all, you might have some fungus. Make sure you're taking a broad spectrum probiotic leaves, okay? But keep drinking that water. You have no idea how good water is for you. So keep that up. Don't stop Susan Nephrotic syndrome, okay? Whenever you see the word nephrotic, you always know that's your kidneys. Your kidneys, and if you have nephrotic syndrome, chronic kidney problems, big, big, big thing to do. Remember what is so hard on the kidneys, nothing is harder. Dehydration and sugar. Sugar destroys your blood vessels. It destroys the capillaries and your kidneys all about circulation, fixed circulation and water. Now let's see, did you ask me another part of that? Oh, I know it has to do with kidneys, she said, but my brother doesn't understand.
Then they put 'em on ozempic. Now if they put 'em on ozempic, your brother is either a diabetic or a pre-diabetic, which effectively is a diabetic. If you're pre, you're a diabetic, don't fool yourself. So your brother's got blood sugar or insulin issues or both? Guaranteed. I mean, they don't put them usually on ozempic and now has become famous because they use it for weight loss and they might be doing that too. I don't know your brother. I have no idea if he had to lose weight, but I'm generally thinking that his kidney problems are related to the fact that he's either a diabetic or a pre. That's why he's got to do the reset. Do the reset. So good for you. Okay, Kathy, I have read that dandelion plants are very nutritious and full of vitamins. Yeah, my father-in-law, you know Italian, eh? Love a dandelion salad.
I'm not kidding you. I said, dad, how can you eat that stuff? He was always healthy as a horse. So how could you argue with, but yeah, dandelions are, they've got some nutritional value. Guys, you know me, plants? Yeah, of course I like plant. I love the plant kingdom. I do, but the animal kingdom is better, so you want to have a dandelion salad. You can have it, but don't live on it. Don't think that, oh, if I have dandelions, that's the best thing. I think someone put one time that they're good for cancer. Am I mistaken about that? That someone, I think there was actually a study done in Canada about it. I can't remember if someone remembers that, maybe just send it off to me at info@martinclinic.com. But I thought there was something on dandelions, right? I'm not attracted to having a dandelion a salad.
Okay? It don't do nothing for me. Okay? But maybe it is good for you. I got no problem with it. Okay, Sue, I've had bursitis on my elbow for three weeks. No fun. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the fluid? Well, I would be using percumin. I would be using OL because it elevates your nitric oxide and even high DHA is very anti-inflammatory guys. High DHA is anti-inflammatory. Kirkman very anti-inflammatory. Okay, Sue, thank you very much. June, I take 10,000 I use of vitamin D three including K two. Okay, that's good for you. Wondering why I would have so much gas only since you've been taking vitamin D with K two, had nothing to do with that. June, okay? I don't know. I've never heard of that. I've heard of gas. I got a friend of mine who said I got gas the other day for a dollar 39 and then he said at tackle bells.
Anyways, I thought that was hilarious. Okay. No, I can't see the connection between vitamin D with K two, we have vitamin D with K two, which is a superior vitamin D. When you put K two with it, I don't see the connection with gas whatsoever. June, I think there's two different things, but if you've gotten gas since only taking that supplement, maybe, but I've never heard of, heard that connection. And if you find something that says they're connected, would you send it to me? Okay, I'm always open guys. Okay, I'm always open. That was June and thank you June for the question. Sandy, I know plastics are bad for me. Okay, well, let me stop you right there. How are you going to get away from it, Sandy? Okay. How do you get away from plastic? It's on Mount est. It's in the oceans. It's in the placenta of babies, and the average person in North America accumulates one and a half credit card worth of plastics a week.
You ain't getting away from it. Okay. Is it no good for you? Yeah, that's why I want you. Okay, Sandy, to keep your liver clean, keep your liver clean. If you keep your liver clean, your body will detox the plastic. If you want to know if you got plastic or not, take a pin and prick your finger. If your blood comes out red, you got plastic, okay? But your body is meant to detox it and you can probably minimize it to some extent by avoiding drinking water out of a plastic bottle. I'm not so concerned about that. Honestly, I am not as much. I would rather you drink your water than you avoid drinking water. Just don't heat up the bottle. I mean, they've shown that. Okay, so let me see. Were you asking me anything else? Buying plastic bottles of mountain spring water. Well, spring water is the best water.
If it comes in a plastic bottle, it's probably not the greatest, but it's still so good for you. The water is good. Like I said, don't heat up the plastic. Don't leave it in a hot car or out in the sun. But even then, guys, I want to emphasize the importance. I want you to take care of yourself. I want you to watch out for any kind of toxins or whatever, but at the end of the day, you have to be honest with yourself and realize, look, you're not getting away completely unless you leave the other day. Elon Musk sent a spaceship out. Well, unless you're going up there to live right in the spaceship, well, good luck. That's why it's so important that you keep your body's natural detox. One, your liver, your liver, your liver. Keep it clean. You keep your liver clean by laying off the crappy carbohydrates and sugar which pack up your liver with fat.
And fat attracts toxins. And when you have too much fat in your liver, you're not detoxing because you're not making enough glue tophi. Own two kidneys flush out because your kidneys flush out toxins. That's their job. Your kidneys flush, flush, flush. How do you keep your kidneys lay off the sugar and drink your water even in a plastic bottle? You put it in something else. Yes. Okay, but I want you to drink the water. Thank you for the question, Sandy. Okay, Susan, I hear a lot of gurgling in my stomach. This is have something to do with a gallbladder dumping or not enough bile. Maybe if you were in my office, I'd diagnose that in about five nanoseconds where exactly it was coming from. You could have a condition called sifo, small intestine fungal overgrowth. What I would tell you, Susan, is to make sure you're on probiotics.
I hope you are already, make sure you're on a broad spectrum probiotic that'll help your gut big time regenerate bone broth is very good because it's so full of L-glutamine and L-glutamine, which is so good for, there was a new study out the other day on L glutamine and the immune system and how good it is for your immune system. Well, of course it helps regenerate your gut. You help regenerate your gut. That's very important part of your immune system. And it could be gallbladder. One of the things gallbladder I would do if your gallbladder is sluggish, don't eat at night. Don't eat at night. Stop eating. Give your body a long time, 12, 14 hours of space between your last meal. Okay, Marilyn, what can you do to absorb B12? My grandson had B12 injections and is still extremely cold feet. Well listen, B12 is a finicky vitamin at the best of times, Marilyn.
Now do you know for a fact that your grandson still has low B12? I mean, the only way to really know is to get a blood test done again so that you have comparisons. I like about 800 to 1200. Those are optimized B12 numbers, okay? I got a lot of years of experience of looking at B12, okay? Lots of years. And I can tell you that B12 is a very finicky vitamin, hard to absorb on the best of day. Your grandson might not have the intrinsic factor. So even if he's eating red meat, he's not getting enough B12. So he should be taking try a sublingual. And what's even more, and I mentioned this the other day, that taking a sublingual B12 is even better than getting a B12 injection. And by the way, you take it every day, but the coal feet could, okay, could be B12, but it may be the thyroid too.
And so I need more detail. Send me more detail at info@martinclinic.com. I can direct you a little bit better if you give me a little bit more detail about your grandson, but he might not have the intrinsic factor in order to break B12 down. How old is he? I would like to know that. Okay. Okay, Marianne, I do have burning mouth and sleep apnea and my face is numb all day. That's no fun fighting nerve pain. Should I be taking cold Q 10 to help with oxygen to cells or any other idea? Well, Marianne, first of all, it sounds with certainty you have burning mouse syndrome, which can be caused by a lot of things. By the way, not enough saliva, poor stomach acidity, what else? Allergies low B12, low zinc, low vitamin D. And if you've had all that checked, because that's really important.
If you were a patient at my office in the old days, I would've done a complete workup on you because if you've got nerve pain and jaw, which often is a low B12 by the way too, but if you know your B12 levels are good, then another thing you might have is an overgrowth of fungal yeast, candida. It can take over your body, including your mouth. Okay? So Maryanne, you send me info at Martin Clinic and make sure you say these are questions for Dr. Martin, and then I can ask you some more questions just to give you, but I would check nutritional status. I've seen this, okay, with burning mouth, not only B12, but low iron, not enough iron, and I had them on the blood boost are now called multi nutrient, and that really helped them by taking all those nutrients in a liquid form.
Seemed to help. But like I said, there's a lot of boxes I need to check off in order to give you a better indication, Marianne, and the fact that you have sleep apnea, which is insulin, by the way, sleep apnea is an insulin problem. So make sure Maryanne, that you and carbs don't fool yourself, you and carbs don't get along. Okay? So remind yourself of that. Okay, Anna, what should I take for thyroid nodules to remove them? Well, I would take anything that, first of all, cut your carbs down. Start with food. Cut your sugar. Cut your carbs down. Why? Because insulin, the more insulin you need, insulin is a growth hormone. The other thing I used to put my patients on with thyroid nodules is dim. So get on our menopausal formula, get on our thyroid formula and the menopausal formula because the menopausal formula will help to reduce your estrogen, flax seeds, reduce your estrogen.
Those are growth hormones. They make the thyroid nodules grow and insulin does too. Thank you very much. I think I answered Linda's the other day. Yes, 900 milligrams of hyaluronic acid for diverticulitis. I like hyaluronic acid. Do you know that we have hyaluronic acid in art? Rivera hyaluronic acid. Good for your joints. It's very good for your skin. Okay? Like hyaluronic acid, your body makes it, it's in your joints, right? For diverticulitis. I can't say that I knew a case of that I wouldn't be against it. Bone broth in my opinion would be better. You really got to watch with plants, nuts and seeds and salads and spinach, and I wouldn't touch any of that stuff for diverticulitis, okay? Or diverticulosis. Okay, guys, I can breathe now. Thanks for the questions. We love them. Thank you guys. You're so good and we appreciate it and got some great studies too. We're going to talk about this week. If you want questions answered, please send them into info@martinclinic.com. Guys, we love your questions. You guys are so smart. Thank you. Okay, talk to you soon.
