1483. Low Omega-3: The Hidden Health Risk You Can't Ignore

A recent study has concluded that having low levels of omega-3 could be as deadly as smoking. This is major news that Dr. Martin doubts will be covered by the mainstream media.

Unfortunately we no longer get the proper nutrients from the food we eat and need to supplement. This includes taking omega-3, but Dr. Martin warns that the type of protein you choose matters. The biggest portion of your diet needs to be protein from the animal kingdom.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning everyone, and once again, welcome to another live this morning and we sure enjoy your company and thank you for coming on with us, those who can, live. Otherwise, we appreciate all of you and those that tune to our podcast. So yesterday guys, we brought to you a pretty significant study on high fructose corn syrup, hijacking the liver. Isn't that incredible? Hijacking the liver to feed cancer. Unreal. So you want to avoid that manmade sugar at all costs. Now, one thing I did mention, and that's why it's going to lead into a new study out that we talked about sending the Trojan horse into a tumor. So cancer cells are ravenous. What is their first choice? Sugar, high fructose corn syrup. Cancer cells, they'll hijack the liver to get that high fructose corn syrup. Okay, we talked about that. And then cancer cells turning into a tumor, they switch from glucose to lipids.

Now here's what we talked about. This research is, I can't remember exactly how many years old it is, but it shows that if you introduce a Trojan horse into a tumor, high DHA, high DHA, you know what happens? The tumor self-destructs. That's significant, big pharma don't like that one, okay? It was such promising research and I can't tell you that I've ever heard that anyone is using that. Now, maybe there are cancer centers using DHA. I don't know. I haven't heard of it. If you guys have, please let me know. Okay, so that was yesterday. Now this is a study that talks about, okay, now let me read the headlines to you. Having low omega levels, okay, having low levels of omega-3 could be as deadly as smoking. Having low levels of, you can measure omega-3 by the way. You can get blood tests done that measure the amount of omega-3 you have in your body.

Now listen, this is really important. You have to understand this, okay? Look, there's omega 3s in the animal kingdom and there's omega 3s in the plant kingdom. Here's the problem with the plant kingdom. Plant kingdoms do not have DHA or EPA, okay? They don't. The problem with that is for your body, because your body wants to use DHA and EPA, they're long chain fatty acids. Now, DHA is the longest chain fatty acid, okay? The longest chain fatty acid is DHA. Second to that is EPA. They're both found in the animal kingdom. So when you eat fish, when you eat steak, you get DHA and EPA. Okay? Now, very important. If you're eating plants, like for example, okay, like hemp seed. Well that's got omega 3 in it, okay? I like hemp seeds. Don't smoke them. Flax seeds. You know what I think about flax seeds, how much I love them, not because of the omega-3, but because of the lignans, which really help you to block extra estrogen. I've talked about that for many, many years. And even on the reset, I let you have actually, I recommend that you take flax seeds in order to dim down your estrogen, men and women, because we live in an estrogen dominated world.

But when you take any kind of seed or nut, yeah, it's got omega-3, but it has to be converted in order to become a DHA or an EPA and the bioavailability of that omega-3 is very, very little. I know that bothers people because they, in this day and age, and this has been going on for a lot of years, that in the world today, they put the plant kingdom up here and the animal kingdom of food down here, right? Bill Gates and his friends, the elitist, they want us to live on plants and not on eggs, meat and cheese for whatever reason in their head. And they're talking about climate. But guys, I can tell you something that way before they talked about climate, they talked about bad fat. When I was in school in the seventies, they were teaching us that cholesterol was bad.

Now I got to tell you something guys. I never ever bought that. I didn't buy it. I knew what they were saying. I couldn't see it, okay? And a lot of my background comes from my father who was light years ahead of his time eating steak when he found out he was a diabetic. There nobody in the world that ate more steak than my father. I mean it like six days a week and roast beef on Sundays. Guys, I'm telling you. So by the time I'm getting my nutritional education, they're trying to teach me that the animal kingdom, butter, be careful with butter. Margarine is better. And I never bought that, not for a minute. And the plant kingdom because of fiber, okay? Fiber, the plant kingdom superseded the animal kingdom when it came to food. That was a big, big, big mistake. Okay? Big mistake. And even today, most young people, if you did a quiz with young people especially, they would tell you it's better and because of Netflix and all the gurus out there that red meat, cancer, red meat, colon cancer, red meat, bad. Eggs, watch for cholesterol, the yolk don't eat the yolk, it's, and dairy. Dairy's got a bad rap. Guys, I'm telling you scientifically it's craziness.

So here's this study, having low omega 3 levels, and I'm going to tell you something that if you are living on plants, when I say you, you know what I mean by that. You guys know better. I'm not saying don't eat from the plant kingdom, fruits and vegetables. I'm not telling anyone not to do that. 30 days on the reset, that's different. 30 days, trust me when I tell you that. But after that, you introduce plants back into your diet, no problem. You won't hear from me, okay? I mean it, I don't want you to go plant free forever. I mean you could, but I don't want you to. Okay? You like your salad? Well have a salad, not for the reset, but don't live on it. I know women that live on salad. Okay, chicken and sald and they avoid red meat like the plague because they've been duped, they've been lied to.

And if you are living on plants more than the animal kingdom, I'm going to guarantee you that your omega 3 levels in your blood are lower than they should be. And the research shows that that's worse than smoking. You might as well smoke and come on, who in their right mind would recommend people smoke? They don't recommend that, right? They used to. I can't get over when they say the science is settled. Imagine in the 1950s, the 1940s, the science is settled, smoking clears up your lungs. Nine out of 10 doctors choose Camel cigarettes. I'm serious, like it's laughable now but that's a fact, folks. You can Google it. The commercials, well, it wasn't so much on tv, but in the magazines. When I was a little kid, it was magazines, Life, Time. They'd have these full page ads on how good smoking was for you. I know it's comical. Oh the science is settled and that's why people, they hide behind that.

Let me tell you, first of all, something. Science is never settled. Science is observation and repetition and always studying and that's a scientific mind. Always reading, always looking and observing. What we know today, I talk about often about the microbiome. What do we know about the microbiome at one time? Nothing like hardly anything. Like even today, even today, I mean it. Medicine is focused in on bad bacteria. That's all they think about. You got a bacteria, and by the way, one of the things that's happening, we talked about this fungus in the brain, didn't we? In Alzheimer's, a new study. Wow, fungus in the brain. And by the way, pneumonia like an epidemic this year. And you know what a lot of it is? It's not bacterial, it's not viral, it's fungal pneumonia. Boy, it's unreal. And antibiotics don't work for that. Fungus, yeast, candida in the lungs, leaky gut, leaky lungs, and they get a fungal infection. You can get mold that you're exposed to mold, but this is apart from mold. You get fungus. Too much use of antibiotics. Like antibiotics are wonderful, but they give them out like candy and now we got all these resistant bacteria, plus you get fungus. It's one of the major side effects.

Okay, so just let me get at this again. Having low levels of omega-3, having low levels of omega-3 could be as deadly as smoking. Guys, yeah, we talk about this a lot. People ask me, Dr. Martin, why do you believe in supplementation? Can't we do it all with our diet? Well, I wish we could. I'm a food guy first. You guys know that I talk about food before I talk about anything else, okay? Eggs, meat and cheese, eggs, meat and cheese. Live on that and the rest will take care of itself. If you live on eggs, meat, and cheese and you have vegetables and fruit, you are going to be fine. It's the best thing you can do. But the biggest portion of your diet needs to be protein from the animal kingdom. It's the most bioavailable protein and fat from the animal kingdom. Saturated fat, satisfied fat, fat that can't be oxidized. You see that fat around your steak? Enjoy. You see fat in hamburger, you can hardly get it anymore. Enjoy. You see the fat in the bacon, enjoy. It's good for you. In that you will get your fat soluble vitamins, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin K2.

I'm not too worried about K1, I'm worried about K2. Most people don't get near enough of it. They don't eat enough from the animal kingdom. When you have cheese, you get calcium, fat and vitamin K2. You don't want to be just taking a calcium supplement. There's some supplement I don't want you to take, one of them is calcium because it won't get to the intended destination. But guys, here's me. In this day and age, okay, in this day and age for what we know, most people need to supplement. I'm sorry, they just need to. Well first of all, if you live above the 37th parallel, you better be taking vitamin D because you ain't going to see enough sun. I wish we could all get it from the sun. Okay, I wish we all could. Now, if you see the sun in the wintertime, well good for you. It's very good for you, but it don't give you enough vitamin D.

So you know me, I'm big on vitamin D, I'm big on vitamin A because it's so good for your immune system and you can't get it in the plant kingdom. Therefore, eat eggs, meat, and cheese, and you're going to get vitamin A. See, there's a lot of things you can eat that you don't need to supplement with. Now, it's not that I never recommended supplementing with vitamin A. Sometimes I did when someone had a really bad immune system and had a very bad skin condition. I recommended vitamin A extra vitamin A. Okay? And you know me on probiotics, and I tell you I take high DHA every day. Why? Well, my brain, that sound like wood, hard head. No, but your brain is made up of DHA. Okay? I love EPA too, but DHA is the king of the castle, when it comes to omega-3, and there's nothing like it. It's the most bioavailable because it's got the biggest chain, the biggest chain of fatty acids. And your body loves it. It's good for lubrication. You know when your car, you need a lube job, you need an oil change, change your oil, get to high DHA, it's the best. Your eyeballs love it. There's some things I think you should supplement. I really do.

Guys, I used to tell my patients this, okay? Well let's say you got a million dollars in the bank, okay, and you're unhealthy. Which one would you rather have? Be honest. To my patients, I would ask them, which one would you rather have? Okay, your health. Yeah, yeah, my health. Yeah. You can't buy it once you lose it, right? And folks, I don't have to tell you that. Let's be honest. When you lose your health, okay, I've talked to, they got cancer, they would spend any amount of money to get rid of it if they had it. Any amount, right? So look, I look at supplementation guys as an investment. It's an investment. I don't care who you are and what you eat, you're never going to get the microbiome like you get in a probiotic, a broad spectrum probiotic. Guys, I'm telling you I've seen it because I've seen leaky gut, I've seen fungus in blood, I've seen what probiotics can do. I've seen what vitamin D can do. I've seen when you can actually measure it, measure levels of vitamin D. I go, holy moly, look at how much healthier you are. You got your levels of vitamin D up.

And if you look at the research and you're honest about it, you go, oh gee, vitamin D is essential. And guys, B12, you know that if I could get into every senior home in North America, I'd take vitamin D with me and B12. They just don't have enough of it and they're low on it and no one cares. Medicine has been hijacked. I remember the old fashioned doctors. My dad's doctor's bag. It had B12 in it always. You were tired. Here's some B12. Today I had a discussion with a physician and I said, the person's anemic. Okay? We were talking about someone anemic. I said, well, did you check their B12 levels? And she looked at me like I had two heads. Well, I said, big part of anemia, I know you're thinking only iron, but I said B12 is important. B12 elevates your hemoglobin. B12 makes red blood cells, that's oxygen. And most people are walking around 80% of the population, they're walking around, they don't have a little light going off flashing. It would be nice if it could like your car, like add oil time for an oil change or whatever, but people don't know. So they're walking around. They've got extremely low levels of vitamin D. They are sitting ducks.

When you have low levels of vitamin D, you're a sitting duck for cancer. Low levels of B12, you are a sitting duck for cognitive issues and neurological issues. You're a sitting duck because you're low in essential vitamin and today medicine has gotten so far away from looking at levels that they should be looking at. They're so fixated on cholesterol, they forget almost everything else when they look at blood, they just don't look at it the way they should. It takes an integrative medical doctor to look at the whole picture. They're trained. You know what, your B12 is normal at 200, you might as well be a mouse at 200. Vitamin D at 30 ng/L. You might as well be a mouse. That's not going to do nothing for you because all they can think of a vitamin D, all they think of it's bones. No, vitamin D, your brain, your heart, your immune system.

So guys, when I talk supplementation, if you are going to take an omega-3, all omega 3s are good. If it's from the plant kingdom, forget it. As far as a supplement, okay? I'm not telling you, you want eat some nuts and seeds. What do I tell you? You're not a squirrel. They're overrated. But if you want some, go for it. Okay? But don't rely on that for omega-3 because you ain't going to get it. You need the DHA, you need EPA, but the DHA is the king. So that's me. That's why I talk about it all the time. I don't have to tell you guys know this. Magnesium, there's no more magnesium in the soil. So how can it be in food? It's not, and I've said this, but many, many gurus have talked about the lack of magnesium today in our society. It's crazy. Well, what do you do? Make an investment. Supplement. What do you do? Supplement. Okay or take an Epson salt bath. You need magnesium. I'm sorry. People are deficient in it.

And the story is having low levels of omega-3 can be as deadly as smoking. Wow, that's a big, big story, folks, in health. Let's see if you hear it anywhere else, and I'm not saying you wouldn't, but let's see if the mainstream media picks it up. Good luck with that one. What did I tell you last week? The reason they say, ask your doctor if this medication is good for you. It's not, guys, let me tell you something. Here's what I've heard from insiders in the big pharma. Okay? Insiders, they don't put the advertising on for you only a little bit. Or for doctors, they already have the doctors. You know what they do it for? They do it for the mainstream media to let them know who's bought and paid for them, they sponsor. And so that's why you see all those commercials on tv on your favorite shows. Why do they do that? Walking through the mall? I've seen a big sign. Ozempic. Ask your doctor if it's good for you. I shake my head, guys. I shake my head.
